481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC NVC mining question on: February 21, 2013, 11:47:58 AM
I mine 40% NVC coins than I would LTC but the NVC price is currently 506% the price of LTC.

BTC-e looks fine to me from here and has done all day. I'd say try a different computer and sell those coins quick. On BTC-e they are currently worth 0.00994BTC each making your 500NVC worth 4.6BTC. I doubt they will have that value for long. Today we have seen a major pump of NVC. I feel sorry for all those buying into NVC and encourage everyone else to mine NVC and sell for your favourite coin Smiley

I'm a fan of Freicoin, shame the difficulty got mined so high and that they did not change the difficulty adjust from stock Bitcoin. There was a lot of enthusiasm for this coin that may return in part when the difficulty comes down but I expect it will just get mined to the same position it is in now.

There is still fun to be had trading them on http://exchange.zapto.org/exchange/2/6
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoCoin Exchange Freicoin support (Also BTC/LTC/PPC/NVC/TRC/NMC) on: February 17, 2013, 07:58:11 AM
shame on you bushstar  Shocked

I'm not a bad person. I see vigorous testing of alt-coins as a good thing to force them to evolve. Perhaps my reasoning is spurious.
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoCoin Exchange Freicoin support (Also BTC/LTC/PPC/NVC/TRC/NMC) on: February 16, 2013, 09:24:20 AM
If they do this kind of testing it only means they're immature as an exchange.

I agree. It would be irresponsible of them as an exchange trading NVC to attack it.

Their comment is made in light of the fact that there are ongoing attacks against Novacoin. They seem to be siding with the attackers perhaps so they will not seen as the enemy.

Then again if took the message from CryptoCoin seriously, made a call of arms and then took down Novacoin perhaps we could credit the demise of the coin to Cryptocoin Smiley

By the way, if anyone does want to 'test' Novacoin I have 4,000Kh.

Why Novacoin ...

... because its scam.
There is complain about NovaCoin because of its pre-mine and centralized control making it to a scam. That very good from our point of view, since it increase the possibility attacks on this chain. Please do your best to do so. I mean you all know that NovaCoin is a scam. How is using it knows he will lose coins. We would like to see what happen with the exchange if the chain gets attacked. Something will break for sure, since we have no code for something we do not know that can happen. Logically, or?
This does not mean you have to attack the exchange. The exchange will die very soon, since its running of a very tiny VPS and not much is needed this kill this VPS. Please focus your hate on the chain so we can make the exchange more robust.

Sad sad. Why would an exchange owner ever ask to attack a blockchain because they don't like the coin?
Like if BTC-E asked its users to attack LTC blockchain for any reason (from their point of view)? It's not acceptable in any way. I'll never use that exchange.

Sounds like they added Novacoin to do some testing on their site.

Personally I'm all for testing (AKA attacking) coins. We know the flaws of Bitcoin and we should be testing these flaws on the alts because it is the only place a lot of the vulnerabilities can be exploited. This way we can help alt-coins evolve. No one would then release an alt-coin without some form of 51% protection. Whichever solution allows alt-coins to survive would be used by others and would perhaps make its way into Bitcoin code.

I deposited 1510 FRC today there, due to demmurage till the confirmations i got 1509.998, no problem with that, but i have to report a bug

I tried to put a sell order on FRC/LTC and canceled immediately, now i got 1479 without selling any frc :/ (checked i have no ltc)
I send him a mail and hope he fixes that

other txid's i got in there as "move" (due to the selling order and canceling it)

username there: nethead

Plus, "Your withdraw limit is: 0 FRC"
I have a similar issue/story.

when putting a sell order in to sell 1000 frc.  the order is posted as 950. is that the 5% demerauge?  i thought it is 5% per year or something.
I think the op is leaning on the safe side not to be short anycoin over time.

The 5% is to cover demurrage while the order is sitting there looking pretty. When the 5% no longer covers the demurrage amount the order is cancelled.

The following is a post on CryptoCoin about Freicoin handling.

Final Freicoin exchange design

Submitted by mugen on Thu, 2013/01/17 - 03:24
After struggling with several problems with Freicoin and other bugs, we wanted to announce or hopefully final Freicoin exchange design.
To keep things smooth we decided to reduce all placed and not directly filled orders by 5% in bid amount. These 5% are used to pay the demurrage while the order is waiting for getting filled. This has the great advantage, that we only have to check the order, when it is going to be filled or canceled. The remaining amount of the 5% are returned to the user who may place them again in a new order. If the 5% the exchange kept is not enough to support the demurrage, the order is canceled automatically. If things are going normal, this 5% are enough to keep the order for one year. Later we may leave it to the user how much of the order should be used for demurrage.

490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want NVC to be removed from BTC-e? on: February 15, 2013, 04:41:14 PM
PPCoin should be on there. It is a good coin with an excellent developer Sunny King. PPCoin 0.3 is just around the corner which makes it a strange time to launch anything forked from PPCoin like Novacoin.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC-E Alternative on: February 15, 2013, 04:36:16 PM
bitparking is too slow.

MtGox is only BTC to $

You mentioned no requirements in your OP besides where does everyone trade? Try rephrasing your question to something like:

I want to trade <Insert name of pump and dump alt chain currency here> I am leaving BTC-E because <Insert whining here> and bitparking is "too slow" <insert WTF that means here>

Does anyone kindly have suggestions for me?

Herp derp why would I only want to trade BTC if this is posted in the ALTERNATE CRYPTOCURRENCIES section...I can't leave BTC-E because it won't load. Bitparking is too slow because there is no easy way I've seen on that site to know if you made a trade, besides pushing F5.

For a quick fix try VPN. It would seem that the DDOS protection might be taking a dislike to our IP addresses. The other fix I'm told is to wait 24 hours.
492  Other / Off-topic / Re: For those who were banned from BTC-e on: February 15, 2013, 04:11:18 PM
My IP is banned, I can access through VPNs though
No, your router is caching the old DNS entry. Reboot your modem/router/PC and you won't need a VPN. If you know wtf you're doing, you can try just flushing the DNS cache.

None of that is working for me. I'm borrowing someone else's IP address to get on at work. I'll try my IP again next Monday. I have heard that the anti-DDOS system can block IPs for 24 hours. Perhaps this is the case for mine.

Just added a post about CyptoCoin exchange. It defiantly needs more traders for LTC. Perhaps we can help them out with that Smiley

Freicoin has now been added to the CryptoCoin Exchange.

http://exchange.zapto.org/

It would be great to see some volume on this site for all the cryptocoins they support. There is a chatbox on the site which is the reason so many people hang out at BTC-e. Now you have somewhere else to hang out Smiley
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FreiCoin (FRC) discussion (was FreiCoin (FRC) for TRC, PPC, LTC or BTC) on: February 15, 2013, 11:45:49 AM
16128 - 15883   (2013-02-13 08:21:33) = 245 left...

5 to 8 blocks a day...
so 30 to 40 days till next difficulty drop.
It would go back to 4096 or even less to 2048? Not clear on that and / or the mechanisms involved for the drop in difficulty.

Considering ASIC's are looming on the horizon there is potential for any alt-coin considering that the difficulty of Bitcoin itself will rise by a factor of 10 or more in the coming months some estimates have the difficulty for BTC to be as high as 70 million from 3 million currently by as early as June or July. What would you do with your out matched GPU if BTC also drops in value making BTC unprofitable? Don't think that FRC is a failure or dead considering the backing of the foundation will also provide FRC for grants soon. FRC has just as much potential regardless of the current drop in nethash vs difficulty.

6.536166213 Nett GH/s Difficulty:64        (Sun, 23 Dec 2012 17:19:22 GMT) @ Block 7920
6.536155284 Nett GH/s Difficulty:9772    (Fri, 08 Feb 2013 00:39:10 GMT) @ Block 15840

Maybe the sky is falling comments are a bit harsh considering were are still at 6.5 GH/s even with a difficulty of 9772? This adjustment seems reasonable and probably warranted and should allow the FRC to rebound at a more steady rate over the coming months rather than yoyo back and forth as it has. Maybe having less is not such a bad thing for the currency?

The difficulty can change at most by a factor of four. Which could make the next difficulty 2443. When it changes I will be mining FRC again.

When I try to save the host file it says access denied....

You do not have permission to edit that file. Run Notepad as Administrator then open it as per the instruction below.

http://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-7/windows-7-hosts-file/

It may also be protected by anti-malware programs.

Hello Smoothie. First of all let me clarify that I don't like the whole idea about NVC neither I like btc-e decision to put a nvc/btc pair for trade at the 1st day of the launch. But to my taste you're making too much drama about it. Only in this subforum I can see 7 threads started by you about NVC and BTC-E being scammy or questionable in their moves. Seriously, I guess ppl alredy made their own decisions about this whole story. It's clear to anyone who have some brain that nvc is no different to mmmcoin but no need to spam with the new threads about this same subject. And the same you've been doing at btc-e chatbox - too much drama for just one more scam coin. Some ppl like joining pyramid schemes trying to make quick buck or play pump and dump, let them do so. They have dedicated button for that now. Even though I'm an an LTC supporter I guess it's up to btc-e how they run things at their exchange as long as they don't rip off people. If people won't like the way btc-e operates they'll leave it anyway. You'd better apply your energy to something more useful like tell people what useful they can do with LTC's rather than chew over information about the new scamcoin. You start to remind me one of those orthodox btc supporters.

Surely it is the drama that makes following cryptocoins all the more fun. Every day is like a soap opera in the world of cryptocurrency with some overly hammy actors.

By the way the chat box on BTC-e is not democratic so remember your ideals may not apply there Smiley
499  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Who owns BTC-E? on: February 15, 2013, 09:03:49 AM
BTC-E.com is DOWN.

is anyone getting this?

I'm sorry but I think I'm now panicking.
What happened anyway?!

Both BTC-e and Coinotron were down yesterday due to DDOS attacks. I presume the same is still true as both site are down but BTC-e does manage to come up for air once in a while.

Anyway I think it best not to leave any coins on their exchange. Especially if their user base is dropping, they might decide to cut and run if they are or have been scammers.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC-e editing chat wow on: February 14, 2013, 08:16:17 PM
I pulled my LTC out of BTC-e yesterday. I'd say it is time to bring another exchange to life. CryptoCoin seems good but is underused.

http://exchange.zapto.org/exchange/1/2

They use to have a chatbox but I'm not sure where it has gone but maybe if we ask Martin nicely he'll bring it back. Any alternative to BTC-e has to have a soapbox.
