I recommend using cold wallets, which can be transported and stored in a safe.
2  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk can you guys look at my project... on: May 16, 2018, 12:27:57 PM
interesting idea, I don't know the truth, why do you do that? there are a lot of similar platforms like bitcoin. But they are not popular.

8  Economy / Gambling / Re: [BitcoinPonzi.com] A new ponzi game site. on: June 20, 2012, 06:44:15 AM
Apparently there was a nasty bug that sent the jackpot to an address that didn't send a deposit! I have sent the jackpot amount 2.60 to the address that should have received it. (1N92Aq82oSHic1TYpDzqLHESnmhwH8LPTN)

Sorry about that. The problem should be fixed.

I'll look into it
10  Economy / Gambling / Re: [BitcoinPonzi.com] A new ponzi game site. on: June 06, 2012, 11:19:48 AM
Just an update.
Found and fixed 4 bugs.
1. When creating a game and deposit was out side of range game was not deleted correctly.
2. When a deposit is waiting for previous deposits to be confirmed was waiting for deposits from other games.
3. Added automatic refund of orphaned deposits. (-0.01 fee)
4. At game expire server would crash due to a database error.

So far looks to be working out decently. Would like to get more traffic to see how it handles under some load. I suspect it would do well because that's what nodejs is good at.

Just wondering how is the page load time for everyone?

12  Economy / Gambling / [BitcoinPonzi.com] A new ponzi game site. on: June 02, 2012, 08:00:51 PM
BitcoinPonzi
Host your own ponzi game with jackpot, expire decay, and lottery!

Current Games
Big Jackpot ROI-30% Jackpot-7.14
Double or Nothing ROI-100% Jackpot-2.50

Lottery pays random un-paid deposits when lottery pool reaches an amount set by the game owner or when game expires.
Jackpot pays the jackpot pool to last depositor.

House fee: 0%!!! Will likely stay there till the end of the month.

I created this site as an experiment using node js. So it may not be very stable.
If you have any questions post here or pm me.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Trader android app on: June 15, 2011, 02:38:03 AM
Hello,
I'm a developer of one of the MtGox trading apps on the android market. The one called "Bitcoin Trader". Recently the developer of the other app called "MtGox Live Bitcoin Trader" claimed I "stole his code." Now my app is getting down rated like crazy, not to mention some false comments. So I wanted to make an announcement to say "Bitcoin Trader" is 100% my own work. Except the icon (Thanks skull88). He claimed "the bytecode matches" Considering the size difference 2.72MB(his) vs 85k(mine) I doubt very much the byte code matches.

I'd also like to announce "Bitcoin Trader" will be open-sourced by the end of the week. As soon as I decide on where to host it and what licence to use. Suggestions appreciated.

I posted this on this forum hoping the down raters would see it and listen to reason and not rumors.

Thanks for your time.

You make good points. I've never done an open source project. I'm just not sure about how to go about doing it. Also keeping the ads in the project would not be good on an open source project because someone will just take them out recompile and redistribute. That being said I am open to suggestions on how to open-source. But finding the right licence would be key.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many BTCs have been generated so far? on: June 14, 2011, 06:56:11 AM
I know for a fact that about 200 BTC has been lost... A few friends of mine started mining back when mining was REALLY good. And well one, lets call him JOE, reformatted and reinstalled his computer, forgetting to backup his wallet. Then the other friend, lets call him BOB, had to leave for military training. Well BOB asked JOE to house-sit for him. BOB told JOE that he had backed up everything and that JOE was free to reformat/reinstall his computer. Well BOB didn't backup either. JOE had something like 70 BTC and BOB had around 140 BTC. So I wonder how much of that 6.534 mil. has been lost?!?

I just figured the was a backup or something else running in the background. I have no idea what the server specs/setup is so that's my best guess.

Ok, so what's the turn around time? If I invest 1 BTC when will I get the 3BTC promised?

BTW: I am being serious now.
