It's not called Cash In for nothing ... lol

So a little update. Our distributor upped the price of Asus cards due to the high demand, so I dropped them and put in an order for 80 Gigabyte R9 280X cards. That looks swell LOL. Because all that is needed for people to invest is pretty pictures. You don't even know the prices yet.

If the coin doesn't launch by Sunday then let's make it happen as a community. I'm well equipped to handle the code and get everything compiled nicely. I have a large server (16x) infrastructure already in place to create the backbone. I've estimated an entire day to get everything done and up smoothly.
All we need are the parameters...
Let me know if there is any interest in this.
I think this is a great Idea. I have mentioned to the CEO a few times to get the community involved to try and get rid of some of the bad press. If it fails again you should do this. "We" should do this. It's all about community! Seriously if it fails to launch lets all rendezvous and just make it happen. But but the nice thing about it being just one person is knowing who to point fingers at and blame when the SHTF.

As an investor I would like join my fellow investors who have voiced concern over the development team.
An actual development team would not act in such an unprofessional manner as the CryptoWest team did on IRC.
An actual development team would understand how coins work and be able to manage the complications of a launch. A lot of this could have been avoided by someone with more experience.
GPUCoin: Are you going to keep this development team? You have already pushed the date back to Sunday so taking a day to research and hire a more reputable team should not be an issue. It would instill confidence in the investors.
Why do I get the feeling this will have fallen on deaf ears. They scammed us out of 71BTC .. nearly $50,000 at today's exchange rate. Not bad for some fake accounts and a website.

How has there been no email to the IPO members explaining everything? No twitter update? We as a community who are willing to put up with this are being treated like dirt.
2 emails sent to ipo@gpucoin.net and ceo@gpucoin.net .. no response. GPUC has run off with our BTC

Suggestions:
1. DON'T RUSH THE RE_LAUNCH! Take 1 week and get things straight first! 2. Refund all IPO investors and start over with the IPO. That will instill confidence. 3. Go with Scrypt instead of N-Scrypt. Yeah yeah we know we are all idiots for not being able to get scypt-n working. Whatever. I have it working no prob in Windows, but in linux/BAMT it is completely different story. We understand the 1/2 hash rates. That's not the complaint. Things just go a lot smoother with Scrypt. Not to mention the horror stories people have with destroying their GPUs using N-Scrypt. Also, who give a shit about Scyrpt ASICs? They aren't here yet. Why are we defending against something that doesn't even exist? Give me a break.
Oh yeah, and the complaints about people renting rigs? Go complain elsewhere. You have a rig rented? Great. Go mine something else then. What's the problem?
Are you not paying attention? Scrypt ASICs are around, they're even being sold on this very site. We need something like keccak.

3x 280X
GPU1 360kH GPU2 360kH GPU3 20kH WHY ??
Lack of system RAM.. scrypt-n is a bitch. 8GB RAM Yup.. for 3 cards you'll need 12GB.. 4GB per card.

THIS IS FUBAR, STOP MINING. OUR CURRENT DEV IS FIRED AND WE NOW HAVE A NEW DEV. WE WILL RE-LAUNCH TOMORROW AND IF THAT LAUNCH FAILS WE WILL BE SENDING BACK ALL THE IPO INVESTORS MONEY.
I must apologize for this, and can only hope you all will stand by us. I know this has already been a rough start, but we do believe that if successful we can provide a great service to all the miners.
Just like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djKPvXDwXcs"We apologise for the fault in the subtitles. Those responsible have been sacked." (sacked = fired)

I've considered just removing the hashing boards and coolers from the case and just having them on a shelf. With the problems getting the upgrade kits working, just talk to them as two different units.
Edit: if I ever get my g. d. upgrade and mpp... grrr
|
|
|
Also, what good is the miner without this 'control board' .. what does the 'controller' do? is it simply a raspberry pi or like?
|
|
|
Are these the 500 kH ones or the 300kH dual miner? Any chance we can get the 500kH ones?

Anyway her linkedin profile now says "Seeking dynamic position within a well organized & professional atmosphere". So yes, she "left". Good catch.
I guess 'well-organized' and 'professional' are 2 things lacking @ HF. My guess is that Eduardo is the one making all the poor business decisions. Probably employees at HF are just as frustrated as customers. Yea, she always seemed nice on the phone. Now I don't even get phone calls returned.

When can we anticipate the Linux version?
We are working hard on Linux version software. And hope to release it some time in next week. We have a Linux version software now actually. It works in most case when do a single device mining. It has some issues on multiple device mining, especially on beaglebone black board. Because a issue in USB to serial driver, Only 5 devices can mine together on beaglebone black board. The good news is we have resolved this issue yesterday. We changed the communication API from COM to pure USB api. This change requires a cgminer upgrade and code merge. It takes time. The latest development progress: Today, we have confirmed that on beaglebone, more than 64 devices can mine overnight stably. In summary, we will release a cgminer in next week. It is based on cgminer 3.7. Please stay in tune! You mention Beaglebone Black but raspberry pi should work too, yes?

if prices keep dropping I will have to ask for more BTCBTCBTC. Those that paid via PayPal is still fine.
Is OP price of 0.55BTC each still valid for batch2?
|
|
|
so batch 2 gets delivered already. And batch 1 still waits for the upgrades. This is not right.
Batch 2 people are getting their units? darn it. Yea, I want my upgrade unit AND my 'miner protection program' too. 2nd call to Hashfast in over a week with no responses about it.

Quick question again.. what are the flags/ options for overclocking the Hashfast unit via the mine peon software?

For anyone that might be running a little hot, it might be worthwhile to check the water cooler/ reapply thermal paste. i was running around 84 degrees on Die 1 and just reapplied thermal paste and reseat the water cooler head. Running about 8 degrees cooler now. Disclaimer, dont do it if you don't know what you are doing. http://imgur.com/a/7DZqdIs that 2nd picture your own application of thermal paste? I assume it is because it looks quite nice. What was the original thermal paste? Was it the stock one that comes preapplied to the waterblock? Yes the original TP is most likely what comes pre-applied with the CoolIT's from the factory. Couldn't tell you what brand that is. You can still see some remnants around the crevices on the other components on the chip, but I neglected to take a picture of that. I wish i had some more time to clean up and do a better job of spreading the TP, but i really wanted to get it back up and hashing so i could play with clock speeds more. (Also make money lol) So far 81 Degrees at 670 clock. Not bad considering i used to be 84 degrees at 600 clock. Averaging ~500GH for the last 10 minutes. Do I have the fastest baby jet so far? No one is really talking about overclocking on this thread. makes me sad as a pc overclooking guy. Edit - started seeing lot of usb errors and hw errors. I suggest not going this high.Great to see under the cooler, thanks for posting the pics. I might well join you in checking the thermal paste some time. I know it did wonders for the BFL stuff going with arctic silver instead. So how does one overclock the device? I noticed the extra options part in minepeon but I'm not sure what arguments and values need to be passed. I am curious too on the whole warranty thing. Is there some way they can 'tell' if the device is overclocked? I doubt there'd be some stateful information on the hashing board itself but I could be wrong.
