I was just informed of a few things that were unclear up till now.
Pirate was recently hospitalized for head trauma that may have been received when he was abducted previously, by aliens. It now turns out that he was implanted with alien technology that gives him the ability to see into the future and predict the outcome of certain events, but only those that were already a part of his life prior to his abduction. He can't simply go out today and purchase a winning lottery ticket, but from what I understand, there are other events that have been foretold or reveled to him, making it imperative to conclude certain parts of his current business deals.
I don't have anymore details at this time, other than the following cryptic quote, that was recorded while he was in dream state, or REM sleep....
'Bubba....shower....soap....NO......lipstick.....dinner'
I will try to report more, as my Private Investigator sends me more intercepted info from the Doctors etc.
Oh man, thanks bitlane! I needed a good laugh

But if you calculate the risk/reward ratio for this pirate default bet then there really is no risk, as the gamblers do not have to put their money in escrow thus no money is being risked. If they lose the bet they simply walk away and open up a new account. If they win the bet, maybe they will get paid. I believe Matthew got the bad bet as he has many people he is betting with and more reputation to lose if he does not pay every single one of those bets. On the other hand, all the other investors can simply ignore the bet if they lose, lowering Matthew's risk/reward ratio.
If Matt wins, I will pay him every last satoshi of my bet. To not do this would go against my word and honor. Additionally, he is providing a great service by allowing people to hedge their situation.

Bitcoin attracted people looking to make money. Some people will risk everything to make a bit more and will totally ignore the risk involved. Happens in poker a lot.

Yup , there's already a thread promising %15 a week. Supposedly already 7000 BTC invested.
I think that thread's just a joke haha.

I guessed the song before I even clicked.

Well, CLIENTS don't ask for soon-to-be 'Legal' representation documentation from creditors, on behalf of his/her hired Legal team.
Does he have a Legal Team ? ME THINKS NOT.
I think involving lawyers in this is just throwing good money after bad.

I wonder what the plan was. I see no reason why he can't be open about what he was doing unless it really was just a scam.
Agreed. At this point, even if he does pay something, his lack of communication has hurt a lot of people.

Well, Pirate did say his plan was so simple that people will kick themselves for not doing it too... (anyone remember where that quote was?)
Yes, I distinctly remember him saying exactly this.

Welp, this thread's starting to look really fucking stupid:
"<pirateat40> Bitcoin Savings & Trust has hereby given notice of default to it's account holders."
Yeah, just saw it, here's the full announcement: [17:55] <@pirateat40> As much as I've tried to meet the deadlines within the community, there're conditions beyond my control which have escalated the process to the point it is today. [17:55] <@pirateat40> Bitcoin Savings & Trust has hereby given notice of default to it's account holders. [17:57] <@pirateat40> No timeline or further information is available at this time.

Quick question for you.
You mentioned before that you will sell more shares as BTC prices goes up. If BTC prices goes down, however, doesn't this mean that the dividends should increase correspondingly?
For example, if you raise 10K USD, and bitcoin price falls from $10/coin to $5/coin, then the dividends should rise to be up to 2%/day, correct? And if it went to $2.5/coin, then divs should be around 4%/day, right? Tks.
Also: who are you?
To keep the ponzi going longer of course. lol
