i got maybe 2% performance increase for RX480/RX470 GPU's.

stock bios, amdgpu-pro open source drivers
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v4.0 on: November 10, 2016, 07:12:29 PM
Running great on all my rigs. Fantastic work!

Multiple rigs with same results as above. 7x 390x @ 1100/1500 for those wondering.
Hi.
wich motherboard you use?
thank you

I stick to MSI. That particular rig is either a Z77-GD65 or Z87-GD65.
thank you- if you have trusted link where to buy it- im tired of askrock- so diffiecult to buy mining things in norway:S no one mining in th countery.

Any board with 7 PCI-e slots will work, really. I keep an eye out for them on my local classifieds. I'm in Canada, so unfortunately have no idea where you might source them in Norway.

thank you:) Canada are wonderful country- been there:)

Canada and Norway, clubbing baby seals to death for a better tomorrow.

get a room already.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [help] looking for advice on building my new rig on: November 10, 2016, 02:12:47 AM
the power supply side connections are only 6x 8pin..

the other end of those 8 pin cables will usually have 2x 6pin which is what most cards require on the market today..

some will have an extra 2pin add on that you can use to power 8pin or 6pin cards.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: ZCASH / ZEC Suprnova Pool Stratum enabled: https://zec.suprnova.cc on: November 10, 2016, 02:00:32 AM
I have a feature request. Currently suprnova show's the current and historical earnings.
Is there any chance to add a "future earnings" tab like nanopool / nicehash and the other pools have?

That way I can tell (based on current hash rate / exchange pricing) what my future returns will / can be.

you can always go to sites like coinwarz and use their calculators.. although i'm not sure how frequently they update to reflect the new "slow start" block rewards that are constantly increasing.

at the time of this post each 100sol/s should net you .025 ZEC per 24 hours of mining.

205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ZEC] ZCASH - All coins are created equal. Discussion Thread (Unofficial) on: November 08, 2016, 03:52:38 PM
i think the main issue with zec is that the large scale holders are freely dumping with the increase of block value to balance out mining competition with other coins.

unless you turn over your rewards after every block you find, this coin is no more profitable than eth by the time the dumps on exchanges catch up with you.

also is the privacy feature going to eventually work, or is it functional but just slow.. whats the deal there.

also also.. are there mining rewards for orphans? (uncles)

whats the audio chime indicate on your dashboard screen ocminer?

Stratum server returned an error: [23, 'high-hash', None]

getting a few of these coupled with an hour of low (50% less) hash on one of my rigs reported on the front end even though locally hash is stable.

wondering if you could interpret for me?

stale rate is super low now thanks for adding that cpu power, did the trick.

high-hash means the submitted share does not met the server target. This could be bug in mining software. These days many of these software come out in rush. If this happens sparsely, it should not affect your mining too much. What software are you using?

using silentarmy on mostly debian boxen.. my one ubuntu box does not display such behavior its running amdgpu-pro drivers and newer hardware.

its very infrequent, maybe every half hour or so (one in a hundred shares)

i just compiled the new pull of their miner, if it persists i'll report the (in)frequency.

edit to append:

new miner seems to have abated those error messages. slightly faster too.

wondering if there is a listing of zec blocks scored? my 24/h rewards statistic is not rising with larger block rewards although difficulty seems stable and/or dropping.

i realize the pool is PPS

209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: fastest linux open source zcash miner: 36 sols/s on R9 380 on: November 05, 2016, 09:20:56 PM
Just tested Claymore's Linux miner, and it is ~5% faster.  Therefore I've changed the title to fastest open source miner.
I think I can get another 15-20% improvement in performance out of the silentarmy kernel, and claim back the title to fastest overall.

do that while keeping it open source and "fee less" and i pledge i will donate .05 ZEC to the address of your choosing.

cheers

We'll see.  Based on JW's experience with ethminer, donations were much less than 1% of mining revenue even before Claymore release his miner.  Right now my thought is to have an open-source version that is as fast as Claymore's and one that is at least 10% faster for a private miner.

you can go that route.. i understand the need to chase your ends. if its closed source though i'm out.

most impressive 7950 rates also. mucho thanks

Did someone try this kernel on https://zec.suprnova.cc yet?

You can run a mining pool but you can't extract and run files from a compressed tar archive?

bazinga!
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Recommend a CPU mining set up for zcash on: November 05, 2016, 02:21:11 AM
anything with the most cores/threads would work best

investing now may not be super prudent though cause the ZEC price seems to be in a bit of a freefall.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SILENTARMY v3: now a full miner! multi-GPU, Stratum support (Linux only) on: November 04, 2016, 10:21:14 PM
just run separate instances with the --use command of device you intend to mine.

./silentarmy --list spells out which device is what for you.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SILENTARMY v3: now a full miner! multi-GPU, Stratum support (Linux only) on: November 04, 2016, 06:54:53 PM
one gripe.. cpu miner is 50% slower than other miners on my old quad core cpu..

otherwise pretty happy with this..
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Whats up with ZEC mining calculators on: November 04, 2016, 06:03:01 PM
some of the early calculators were way off because of the slow start reward. and i think pool administrators lack of communicating payout schemes hurt a lot too.

looking forward to the block reward rising Smiley i dont think anyone would mind an estimated reward based on time (2.5 minute blocks) rather than actual reward on their calculators.

its pretty easy to create a formula to guess what the reward will be for a block at noon on monday.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dual mining Ethereum and ZEC with decent speed! on: November 04, 2016, 05:43:53 PM
i think this helps with powerful systems running efficient software on old zec miners that werent tweeked to use all the cards efficiency.

the new silentarmy miner no longer allows me to dual mine, even the 480's but the hash rates are really impressive.

Please take a look. I am mining with a AMD 7950. Is it ok ? It seems people are getting more hashes than me. I am using windows 7 64bits. Catalyst Version 15.11.1
Please help me. I am mining with ethminer and in dwarfpool

those rates are normal.

be cautious reading old guides when it comes to reported hash rates. as the DAG grows hashrates fall off. for some cards more than others. 7950's are particularly affected.

you can always squeeze more out with bios flashes and other tweeks but i would just enjoy your cards for now..

Zcash mining is now available at F2Pool. You don't have to sign up to mine zcash, simply use your payout address or payout address plus dot plus worker name (must be t-addr for now) as miner's login name.

bless you.

to clarify thats -u taddress.login as worker/login name

Anyone know how to install ADL on Ubuntu 16.04 such that the library is found?

Code:
Unable to load ati adl library

when this type of thing comes up, always search terms like "adl repo ubuntu 16.04" or whatever your distro is specifically.

each distro and sometimes versions even have unique names for the same dependancies.

i am testing the new silentarmy miner (successfully so far, possible loss of hash vs console reported and front end pool results) and did not have any ADL specific issues during install.

are you building the git repo? amdgpu-pro drivers right?
