$5,560

Thanks for the game!
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tether and Institutional Investment on: November 07, 2018, 02:10:16 PM

Is the FUD surrounding Tether holding back institutional investment into crypto?

I doubt it. Why would institutions care if crypto traders lose a bunch of money when USDT goes to $0?

I hope Tether will still recover and secure its spot in the market.

I'd much rather see some of the new stablecoins take over. First, they have more trustworthy issuers.... Circle, Gemini, Paxos, etc. Second, when Tether inevitably implodes, the less stablecoin market share it has, the better.
3  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] 1Broker.com - Trade forex, indices, stocks and commodities on: September 28, 2018, 03:15:23 AM
RIP 1Broker. I always loved you guys. Cry

Can the admin comment what is going to happen with the funds at the site?

They were allowing US people to trade security swaps which was forbidden by law and is being sued right now.

I always figured the legality of this framework was dubious. No registration in the US and no KYC, but offered swaps to US customers, and for US stocks to boot? But I definitely appreciated being able to trade without KYC.

I'm doubtful customer deposits will be refunded. They'd have to pull a BTC-e and bring the site back, which they don't have much incentive to do. And they probably don't have the resources to do that either.

Why is it closed for other countries? How is it possible? This is fucked..

The US government seized their domain and servers.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Lobby Group to Present Alternative Bill on Digital Assets on: September 17, 2018, 01:21:33 AM
Cryptocurrencies will have a special status, which has never appeared in Russian legislation before, and will be regulated on the basis of laws and regulations that will be issued by the Russian Central Bank. The Central Bank will issue licenses for exchange operations. In this regard, the status of crypto owners will be notably facilitated in comparison to securities owners.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/russian-lobby-group-to-present-alternative-bill-on-digital-assets?utm_source=Telegram&utm_medium=social
You make it sound as if it has already passed, in all honesty what are the odds of this being passed through and becoming legal? That's what I want to know. (Not that it changes much for me since I am American but the more Global Acceptance the better)

Russia flip flops on crypto regulation every other month. I wouldn't rely on anything until it's passed into law, signed by Putin himself. This is just a proposed bill.

It affects us in the sense that geopolitical powers are competing against one another. As I see it, favorable legislation from one superpower is good, because hard-headed anti-crypto legislation from others would only put that superpower's industries (crypto and finance) at an advantage. That's irrational.
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What tools do you use for technical analysis? on: September 10, 2018, 07:58:09 AM
Looking to get into crypto trading and I'm curious what tools do you use for technical analysis?

I try to keep it simple. Too many indicators can just confuse things.

I use one indicator for volatility (Bollinger Bands), one for volume (volume profile), and one for momentum (Chande, RSI, or something similar). Candlestick reading and horizontal S/R is also important. Major MAs like the 20-day can also be good to have on the chart, as price tends to gravitate towards them (mean reversion).
6  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Shapeshift Membership on: September 09, 2018, 11:17:32 PM
Nobody wants to scan an ID and send it to us. We know that... it's a horrible thing to force people to do.

Then why do it...  Lips sealed

What would you do if FinCEN were threatening you with an enforcement action? That would probably mean millions of dollars in civil penalties. And it might be coordinated with the Justice Department, bringing criminal charges. Unlicensed money service business, money laundering.... these can carry long prison sentences. I bet that's floating around in the back of Erik's head as Shapeshift implements these changes. Undecided
7  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Shapeshift Membership on: September 08, 2018, 06:32:13 AM
"Membership" .... LOL. Roll Eyes

I suppose this was inevitable. If a centralized service gets big enough, regulators come knocking. And then comes the KYC. Oh well, it was a good run. How's Changelly these days? Tongue
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ☑☑☑[ANN][BSD] BitSend -The first Segwit Masternodecoin on: September 07, 2018, 09:50:00 AM
Hey, all. Whether there are services to create shared masternode wich accept bitsend?

I've asked a couple times in this thread and never gotten an answer. So unfortunately, I'm assuming the answer is no. But maybe someone else can chime in...
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ☑☑☑[ANN][BSD] BitSend -The first Segwit Masternodecoin on: September 06, 2018, 07:19:50 AM
There is along time since the last BSD update. What is the plan for the near future? With the current bear-ish market state bitsend keeps losing value unfortunately.

The bear market extends far beyond BitSend. It's the entire alt market (with a few rare exceptions).

There's a rough road map in the OP of this thread. I don't think any update is going to reverse the bear market, unfortunately. It's going to take time and possibly a lot more blood for that to happen.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What happen with ETH Price ? on: September 06, 2018, 07:16:22 AM
ETHBTC is teetering right above a long term bullish trend line. This is a major decision point. New lows (below 0.054ish) probably means a new downtrend. We'll probably know in the next few days. It sort of depends on what BTCUSD does here.

Not a bad call here. ETHBTC broke the uptrend with a vengeance. Just tagged 0.0333 today. That's not what I really wanted to see, as a bullish altcoin market is always good for BTC. But a trader's got to make a living. Wink

12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: OMG Bitcoin & ETH Data Size on: July 03, 2018, 06:44:30 AM
It sounds like a lightweight wallet (as suggested above) is probably fine for your purposes. Electrum is great.

But if you're receiving large payments, you might consider running Core with a pruned blockchain. It's always safest to run a full node when receiving payments.
13  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mixer ? on: June 04, 2018, 05:01:03 AM
FYI you guys are responding to a thread that got necro'd from 2014.

They've been around since early 2014, but make sure you go to their onion site (http://bitblendervrfkzr.onion/) instead of a scam site like the following: **********

You should really avoid posting actual links to scam sites. People who aren't reading closely will click them.

Miner 20%
Governance 10%
Masternodes 70%

Just so I am clear: You mean 10% of block rewards go to a governance budget (treasury), and this will be allocated from current masternode rewards (80%-->70%)?

And this budget gets used to fund proposals, which get voted on? Who has voting rights?

Does anyone know the answer to this:

Are there masternode shares, like with DASH? I can't commit to accumulating the full 25k, but 10-15k is probably doable. Someday I will have my BitSend masternode. Smiley

Got my 20 BTX airdrop, that's 111 USD! Thanks for the generous airdrop!

Hmm, I'm jealous. I sent the PM to dishwara early AM on the 13th but seems I didn't get in. Undecided

You need to have collateral 25000 BSD. Then you can expect a monthly income around 600 BSD

18  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Polish authorities seize 400M EUR allegly belonging to Bitfinex shell company on: April 09, 2018, 07:07:57 AM
It doesn't seem like the story was picked up by major news sources. Probably not enough confirmation of links to Bitfinex.

It was mentioned in Finance Magnates:
Bitfinex is Mixed Up with Colombian Cocaine, Polish Media Reports

And Cointelegraph:
Unconfirmed: Polish Prosecutors Seize €400 mln Amid Allegations Bitfinex Is Implicated In Fraud
Quote
News is emerging of the seizure of €400 mln from an account that is reportedly affiliated with crypto exchange Bitfinex at the Cooperative Bank in Skierniewice, Poland. The investigation is allegedly tied to Colombian drug cartel operations, a local news outlet reported April 6. The report has not yet been officially confirmed or denied by Bitfinex.
Quote
On Polish forum Bitcoin.pl, one Bitfinex user has claimed he was interrogated by Polish police last week: “I testified as a witness regarding the case of Crypto sp z o.o because they sent me money from Bitfinex and their accounts were blocked.”

Today’s reports in Polish media raised the suspicion that there is a connection between Panama registered Crypto sp z o.o (and parent company Crypto Capital Corp.) and narcotics trafficking networks, suggesting that the criminals converted fiat into crypto to cover their tracks.

No charges filed and no confirmation of the links to Bitfinex, though it certainly looks possible. In any case, it does highlight the danger of exchange risk, especially with unlicensed exchanges. Be careful out there!

What about listing on new exchanges? Everyone knows that bittrex recently, removing much more coins than adding new ones.
BTW, thanks for the airdrop!

Too bad BitSend is already listed on Upbit. Did you see what that listing did to Storm?!

Anyway, I'd still rather wait until we're in a clear bull market before pushing too hard for new listings. Things are looking rocky at the moment. A lot of my alts saw a great bounce over the last week, but if BTC keeps bleeding like this, it might be a dead cat.

The next step is for Bitsend to update the DK3.

The difficulty algorithm? What is being changed exactly?

Thanks.

yeah, price will definitely rise but might take so long cus devs arent promoting bitsend

I prefer complete silence until altcoins are out of the gutter. The best time for news/developments is during a bull market. Tongue
