Some translations don't have enough active translators and would benefit from being updated. And new translations are always appreciated. Ah and maybe the "Submit your business" button should be "Submit a business" instead?
This way, it can allow contributors (like me) to add / suggest the inclusion of new businesses.

May I suggest another feature?
To add a little "Last verified" date for each merchant. I suppose that over time, some will stop using Bitcoin so it might be important to ensure that each of these businesses are re-verified on a periodic base to make sure that usebitcoins.info remains a quality website to find businesses accepting Bitcoin. Especially at the beggining because those merchants will probably receive more buyers from usebitcoins.info over time, but not at the start.
I just tried to login with no success, I get a 500 error. Any idea why?

Such a repository is highly needed to help a market of consumers and merchants to develop. It can play a key role IMO as long as the people who run the site keep doing a good job on the long run. Bitcoin is "a chicken and a eggs" problem until merchants and consumers can find themselves easily.
Various suggestions :
Make sure you have enough people so that this project is not abandonned at some point.
Increase site responsiveness. It is very nice looking but also very slow (at least from where I am) and it is an important thing that might define if your visitors will leave or stay.
Show more shops in one page (3 - 4 shops large would be nice IMO, you could keep the right buttons on the main page only)
Remove the social network sharing button from the categories pages. Only show them on each shop page when the user click on one shop. This can reduce the number of buttons and make a cleaner search page, with more emphasis on each shops.
The menu is not so visible. Maybe that its background color could be different to help with this?
Make a favicon
Edit : Maybe also drop news and only focus on one thing and do it well? (And keep 100% of your space for shops categories)

Some clarification:
There is no bitcoin wallet software on the LiveCD. Only software to generate keys and QRs and print them on wallets. The goal is to print wallets without ever having their keys be online or seen by an online system that may have trojans.
Sounds good. As long as users are aware that they are exposed to trojan the day when they need to load the private key in order to spend their bitcoins. But meanwhile, it is indeed a nice way to deposit bitcoins to a Bitcoin address securely.
If I understand correctly, the issue of "change" only occurs if people try to redeem small amounts of a wallet, not the complete balance of that address, right?
Indeed. Any transaction not spending the entire amount needs to send the change back to a Bitcoin address (otherwise the whole change would become the transaction fee). Many Bitcoin clients don't send the amount to the source address. They send the change to a random new address that is stored in the wallet. As such, if your paper wallet was loaded in Bitcoin-Qt or Multibit in order to spend only a part of the funds available on the paper wallet, there are good chances that such a transaction would transfer all remaining funds without the user being aware of it (because it's not really intuitive). |

I was wondering yesterday how much effort was being put to translation.
For my own site, I put a message to those preferring languages I didn't have a translation for, appealing for help and that worked well. Even not speaking the language, simple cross referencing two or more submissions with Google translate, it becomes easy to build up a comprehensive set of translations. So, don't just bounce to English, use those interested and have them contribute.
Sounds like a very good idea to me (as long as the page also links to the english page for those who are not interested to contribute). |

The main problem with this approach is the risk that you lose the change of your transaction once you recover the private key and issue a transaction (most likely in a temporary wallet and most likely to greatest part of all your funds). It happened at least once in the past to someone. The fact is that a paper wallet let's people think the remaining part of their bitcoins stored on this address will remain on this address if they issue a transaction. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Bitcoin-Qt, Armory, and even Multibit when there is more than one private key stored in the wallet. In the case where someone issue a transaction from the LiveCD, the risk is greater because all change private keys are permanently deleted when you shutdown the computer. This is why I make a clear warning about this here in the offline wallet subsection : http://bitcoin.org/en/secure-your-walletI would say that (to my knowledge), the only user friendly security that can be done to make a paper wallet secure is to use Alan Reiner (Armory) approach, only use deterministic paper wallets backup. That said, when deterministic wallets will become possible with thin clients like multibit, I think it would be excellent to have a LiveCD for this. It is definitively a handy way to have an excellent security level to store bitcoins. Very good idea BTW. |

If your web browser language is set to any other language then english and that you click on any wiki page in Google search results, you end on a blank page. I suspect that this might happen quite often. This is due to how urls are referenced by Google and how the bitcoin wiki handles url translations. For instance if you get this url from Google : https://bitcoin.it/wiki/SoftwareThe Bitcoin wiki will automatically convert it to : https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Software or https://fr.bitcoin.it/wiki/Software based on your browser language. In the later case, the page doesn't exist, therefore it is a bug. The bitcoin wiki could be modified to 301 permanently redirect to english, or to temporarily redirect (302) to the right translated page and fallback to english when the page doesn't exist. Is there someone with sufficient access to allow such a fix? |

I'm not necessarily doubting that he said that, but I've never run across it. Can you provide a pointer? The closest thing I've seen to such a statement is Mike Hearn staying that the system could operate with 6 or so copies of the full block chain owned by large entities. Maybe he didn't state who owned them though, and I am not going to put words into his mouth by claiming that he thought it was a good idea. He can speak to that himself if he's so inclined. Of course if bandwidth and storage cannot scale, that is likely to be the case I guess. But that being said, only 6 datacenters storing the entire blockchain might not be a real problem as long as all full nodes continue to run based on snapshots of the blockchain at a given date to reduce its size. Though I don't know all details surrounding this question, and I couldn't go at the conference this year (sadly!). |

bitcoin.org is now translated in transifex user-friendly environment : https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/bitcoinorg/New translators are welcome in each team. Especially the German team who has a 100% full translation but no reviewer yet. But also all other translations can benefit from more active translators and reviewers to translate changes in the website over time. Many translations are incomplete and need new contributors to complete them. |

Cool: This proposal has been implemented and tested in the Armory Bitcoin software for use in offline-wallet transaction signing (as a 1-of-1 transaction), and will eventually use it for multi-signature transcations.
Indeed, Armory cold storage works pretty well with offline transactions signing : https://bitcoinarmory.com/using-offline-wallets-in-armory/I am also looking forward for multisig to become a user-friendly feature. This is a huge step for security. |
