Could you share what version of the Mist wallet you are using?

Just upgraded to 0.7.2 and like I mentioned earlier.  I just made my first transaction with it when minutes later strange things started happening.  But I no proof of anything.  There are a million ways this could have happened. Not anymore.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thanking the hacker that stole my ETH yesterday on: May 12, 2016, 03:56:50 PM

Yes he was I think. I think he downloaded some software that had a keylogger in it and them his credentials were simply stolen and they took the ethereum out of his wallet. I think that people who do this are very pathetic.

Tip:Don't hold coins in a an exchange.

Yes Windoze. I don't play with big amounts of anything, so yes, whip me for Bill's abortion.

No to keylogger. Still working timelines out but everything having to do with ethereum was downloaded and then deleted from my hd.  Including entire ethereum chain and json wallet file.  I was not quick enough to shut down (I saw this happening) to say the least. I could have run undelete and recovered and probably beat them to it if I had reacted a bit faster.  It took them 90 mins to move the coin. Coins went to Poloniex according to chain. That was when I tried my Poloniex account and it was not accessible.  No I am not really mad at Poloniex.  I kinda thought they would be more interested in a breach but maybe they just happen too much.  I have written it off.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thanking the hacker that stole my ETH yesterday on: May 12, 2016, 11:39:31 AM
I have contacted them but no reply.  I only kept 10 ETH on Poloniex so i did not worry about 2FA.  I was naive and didn't think that they could get enough info from there to track down my wallet. But they did.  My stupidity.  I know better.

All my security was a joke because I got complacent. Will not happen again.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Thanking the hacker that stole my ETH yesterday on: May 12, 2016, 11:29:59 AM
I just want to thank the asshole hacker that stole my shitty little amount of 114 ETH yesterday.  I can see you moved them Poloniex.  I hope the you do better with them than me as you felt more entitled to them I did.

The fact that Poloniex doesn't seem to give a shit that the hack originated from their site is also enough to make me sick.  Yes I am ranting and whining because I am just a little guy trying to get by, I am no threat, yet some scumbag that has nothing better to do but prey on the little guy who probably didn't have his security as tight as it should be steals my wimpy stash. This sad excuse for a person, has actually hurt my financial situation a lot more then if he had taken from some whale.

If anyone would know of anything that i can do to help stop this from happening to others I would like to know.  I don't have anything I can offer for a reward for return of my measly amount of coins lost except a small portion of them.  Also interest in hearing if this is happening to others lately.

Kicked when down,

Zed
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Stratum for Ethereum. Increase earning up to 20% compared to getwork. on: March 16, 2016, 01:38:51 PM
Why are you using capital letters in the address?

Just change your wallet address in the conf file to this exact string:

Code:
# Coin address where money goes
WALLET = "0xd8d8de5f679e0d0b4cbe82f16e6a84bf5369b67e"

Here is my current conf file and bat for miner.

###

# Coin address where money goes
WALLET = "0xd8d8De5F679E0d0b4CBe82F16e6aXXXXXXXXX"

That is what the line reads I just changed the last for privacy, which obviously was useless.  I hope I wouldn't have put a bogus address in and wonder why it does not work.

okay now i see what your talking about. I had just copy and pasted the addy from etherchain.org and for some reason they capitolized some of the letters.  and yes now it does seem to be working.

Thanks, I knew it was something stupid.

OK this is the third time i have tried the proxy 0.0.5 version.  I cannot get the pool to register my shares to my wallet.

I have tried very config of the proxy (i think) I have used 127.0.0.1, I have used my IP 198.162.0.XX.

Here is my current conf file and bat for miner.

###
# Examples of command line for miners:
#
#   ethminer.exe --farm-recheck 200 -G -F http://HOST:PORT/
#   ethminer.exe --farm-recheck 300 -G -F http://HOST:PORT/rig1
#
#   ethminer.exe -G -F http://192.168.0.11:8080/
#   ethminer.exe --farm-recheck 100 -G -F http://192.168.0.33:8080/rig1
#
#  farm-recheck parameter is very individual. Just test different values.
#
#  You can submit shares without workername or
#  You can provide workername:
#   - with url like "/rig1"
#   - or use automatically numbering(integer) based on IP of miner

I get the proxy running fine.  I get this in a browser.

Ethereum stratum proxy
DAG-file: 5197b2a3898b31d4

Main server eth-eu.dwarfpool.com:8008 (188.165.233.56) connected
Failover server1 eth-ru.dwarfpool.com:8008 (212.24.48.118) connected
Failover server2 eth-us.dwarfpool.com:8008 (198.27.64.122) connected
Failover server3 eth-hk.dwarfpool.com:8008 (None) disconnected

It says it's accepting work from my miner Zed1.  It shows my hash rate but the dwarfpool site never shows any shares from my miner.  If i run direct to the pool with this bat: start "Ethmine" "D:\Program Files\Ethereum 0.9.41\Release\ethminer.exe" -G -F http://eth-eu.dwarfpool.com:80/d8d8de5f679e0d0b4cbe82f16e6a84XXXXXXXXXX/Zed1 (yes i put in the Xs), everything is fine.

One question I have is. Is the 0x on the start of the wallet address necessary? I have tried both ways in the proxy conf file, no luck.

I have rebuilt the DAG a couple times. What am I missing?  Thanks for any help.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: IMPROVED Quark [QRK] win64 CPU Miners i3i5i7 Bulldozer on: December 31, 2013, 10:57:04 AM
I have been using the Win64_all for about three weeks and then about 3 days ago it started spiting out errors. and then very strangely the minerd.exe just disappeared from my comp.  When I try to unzip it again from the zip file it will not unzip, even though it still shows in the zip file.  I turned off my virus prog in case it was that but same result.

If I try to download the file again from SF it always comes down corrupt.  I tried all the other files.  They will download but all crash as soon as they are started.  Is this just me or is anyone else experiencing this too.
10  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitfunder closing questions on: November 18, 2013, 12:50:30 PM
Can anyone point to to a thread or somewhere to find out how to deal my assets on BF that is about to shut down.

This is from the site but makes little sense to me:
Quote
BitFunder users are encouraged to transfer their shares from the BitFunder site to the respective issuer(s) no later than December 1, 2013.

As of December 2, BitFunder will initiate a transfer from the BitFunder site to the respective issuer(s) of any remaining shares held by BitFunder users, and will provide the issuer(s) with the public bitcoin address associated with the user account. After transfer, each user will need to work with the issuer(s) with respect to the future treatment of the shares.

Horseshit! I have lived outside the US for many years and I pay no taxes to the US.  What kind of crap are you trying to spread. You people that think you have it so bad in the US make me vomit.  You have no idea how the rest of the world lives.

You might want to read this Zedster: http://www.irs.gov/publications/p54/ch01.html#en_US_2012_publink100047323

Here is an excerpt:
Quote
Filing Requirements
If you are a U.S. citizen or resident alien, the rules for filing income, estate, and gift tax returns and for paying estimated tax are generally the same whether you are in the United States or abroad.
[/quote]

Taken out of context.  You are missing the part that says when you have to pay taxes.  This is only the who.  I will not fight with you since I have been living it for 18 years.

13  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Reporting bitcoin earnings to IRS, Post FinCEN. on: May 15, 2013, 09:19:29 AM
my big worry is if i do not report now, they may come at me 5-10 years from now with interested owed.
If Bitcoin is still worth anything 5-10 years from now and you own some now you'll likely be able to manage that risk by just moving outside their jurisdiction.

Unless the OP renounces citizenship (not a bad idea right now), moving does nothing except offer a potential 95K tax credit if you live 330 days (or something like that) outside the USA.

The only country on the planet that taxes its citizens regardless of where they live.

15  Economy / Speculation / Re: In the long run, bitcoin will be worth $0. on: April 26, 2013, 06:02:45 PM
Betamax was a superior technology than VHS but it never took off

This was largely because the porn industry adopted VHS. As with a lot of tech porn will lead the way.  So more BTC porn!

Oh and btw Bitcoin is still in beta actually and a lot can change so keep your pants on there troll master OP.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Post Paypal announcement price on: April 26, 2013, 09:08:04 AM
What do you think?

This will never happen.

Ding ding ding

At least you posted this in the speculation forum 'cause this is not happening anytime soon.

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FinCen preparing to prosectute some Bitcoin users on: April 25, 2013, 04:26:00 PM
Correct thread title:

Some random guy says that he's heard from "anonymous sources" (aka other random guys), that the government is preparing to prosecute some bitcoin users

It was not some random guy, it was part of a fairly reasonable discussion about FinCEN as a whole and he compared what is happening currently to prior FinCEN actions.  I think what he said has a fairly reasonable chance of happening to a small player who cannot fight.  Something sparked those rule clarifications and, as he pointed out in the interview, the rules are unclear and may exceed their statutory authority.

The first time I tried to buy Bitcoin the first site I found was Bruce Wagner who had a web site that said I could go to one of the banks he used, make, what he claimed was an "anonymous cash deposit" into his account, and have Bitcoins sent me.  I searched on him and decided against it.  I can see FinCEN prosecuting something like this as he was using large banks (including my bank).

+1 If you go to freebanking.org and read just a little you will see this guy is not some idiot off the street.  I truly don't think what he is saying hear should be taken with a grain of salt.  His agenda appears to pro-BTC as he is offering to be that needed liaison between BTC and FINcen.

I definitely believe that if someone that knows what they are talking about doesn't sit down with them soon from the BTC community then they will do whatever they please.  No matter what the discussion, ignoring FINcen and letting them just regulate as they think is right will not be good for BTC in anyway.  It is way to easy for them now to say, it's main use is for laundering terrorist money.  (They have way too much power under The Patriot Act)  That is pretty much game over in the USA.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GUIMiner-scrypt: A GUIMiner fork for mining scrypt chains on: April 25, 2013, 04:00:53 PM
is possible to use this script for mining other crypto? like ppc?

To be slightly more helpful than NO.  There is the original GUIminer for most other coins. This is strictly for coins that use the scrypt algo. Those only being LTC at this point.
20  Economy / Securities / Re: Cloudhashing ASIC mining contracts,-UK LTD company on: April 24, 2013, 02:55:50 PM
Daft and pointless post.

I am we'll aware of what BFL plan to deliver and have made necessary arrangements.

Thanks

Wow I would like to know what they plan to deliver for the minirigs as all they have said so far is "we can't fit what originally hope into them but we have plans".

So what inside info do you have?  This type of info would go a long to prove a shred of validity.

No answer here means you have no idea what kind of product you are getting for your level of investment.  thanks
