When I try to solo mine I get this error in GUIMiner
[Errno 10061] No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it
Are you using the right port?

As I understand, this shortcut should start as SERVER, but it opens standard client wallet app... So what am I missing?
You can add a -server flag to the shortcut to force it into server mode at runtime.

okay i get almost all my blocks rejected...
when is next retarget?
nevermind...
I've had better luck since switching from guiminer to DiabloMiner. Also the difficulty retargets every 2016 blocks.

Oh? Both were losses. Sorry :/
I would send more but my 184 Mhash keeps getting hardware errors and rejected blocks. Me too. Also, is anyone else getting only 25% of their normal Bitcoin mining hashrate when mining Bytecoin? switched from guiminer to diablo miner , and got my normal hashrate back. DiabloMiner does not work for me. The .exe just closes with a cmd prompt. No message most of the time. Try running it from a command prompt with the -help flag, which will give you information on the rest of the flags you need to start mining with Diablo Miner. Also, just got my first difficulty 4.00 block!

I mined 1000 BTE while the difficulty was 1.00, but since the increase to 4.00 I've not solved a single block.

Please post an address for where your winnings should be sent to.
Bytecoin shows the from address as unknown and so does ABE.

Right now is the perfect time to play - the dice game is due for a payout Here's hoping, my 25BTE bet just got 20 confirms!

Difficulty shot up to 4.0!

Interesting
1. Fork the bitcoin repo 2. Change the hashGenesisBlock and a few other values in main.cpp 3. find ./ -type f -exec sed -i ‘s/Bitcoin/Shinkicker-Coin/’ {} \; 4. ?? 5. Profit!
It really is that easy?
Been done before. Some premining, then release, then pump and dump. Bytecoin seems to be unique in the world of Altcoins in that it is one of the few that wasn't premined at all.

Bytecoin is past block number 1337!

I mined 550 BTE just fine then I started having problems... the client shows a popup when I solve a block but it doesn't show the Bytecoins in my wallet.
Your blocks have been orphaned or you need to let them mature. Oh okay, yeah they must have been orphaned. Makes sense.

I just mined my first 50 BTE!
So where are the software/instructions for solo mining? The software is linked in the first post of this thread. As for instructions, it is just like solo mining bitcoins. On windows you run the client in server mode by creating a bytecoin.conf file in your appdata folder. Follow a guide for bitcoin solo mining. Sounds kind of funny. Not willing to give specific instructions here? Looks like you're not prepared to promote Bytecoin to the point of helping others mine. Hmmmm....... http://maunderingcabal.blogspot.com/2013/02/bitcoin-mining-log-9-how-to-solo-mine.html Here is a solo mining guide for bitcoin and altcoins, it should be trivial to apply the guide to Bytecoin. Good luck!
