if your only press coverage is on ccn, I automatically assume it was bought and you're up to no good.
We sent the press release to several media channels, so far only 3 published us ( www.cryptocoinsnews.com, www.sobrebitcoin.com and www.cryptocurrencymagazine.com) and we didn't pay to any of those for the coverage. Finally, we also have pending interviews with Cointelegraph and Coindesk This sounds like a similar altcoin from the past. There are few similar projects, but none of them were backed by an ecological approach, transparency and a DCO model, like WoodShares does it.

Interesting concept for a coin. I will take a look at the development. Wish you good look, if this is a serious project.
Thans for your reply, and we are a serious project. Cheers

Nice interview, why a token and not your own coin?, where you could show development and integrate features link to the woodshares project, like a proof of existence. We didn't want to create a new coin because. 1. We wanted to use the Bitcoin Blockchain because we belive in Bitcoin as a protocol and counterparty as a top layer on Bitcoins Blockchain 2. We needed an easy distribution way of dividends, hence counterparty was the ideal option due that it incorporates this functionality on its Counterwallet. 3. Forestry projects are a long term investment with good economic benefits, but we have to be careful with the costs and expenses in order to maintain a good rentability. So, Counterparty was the more secure, less expensive and more reliable option. 10.000.000 WOODSHARES at $0.007 per Hectare (70.000 USD) - I'm no Timber expert but how will this ever become profitable? What is the average revenue on 1 Ha of Land if chopped now with 20+ Year old trees on it?
The expected profit for an Hectare in 10~11 years is $211.145 USD. Also, the historical average increase on the price of the wood is about 11% annual, meaning that each day the physical asset is growing in value. I'm sorry but I just can't look at this without thinking of wood collector.
I have to ask but are you one and the same with him?
LOL! That's what I immediately thought as well, this looks interesting though I wish more dividend paying projects would crop up like this. This kind of projects are not getting much traction, maybe that's why there isn't too many. Maybe the community is not mature enough for a 10 year investment. Even thoug we have been working arround this project for more than 1 year and we want to see it succed. New article about Woodshares. http://davidbressler.com/2015/04/16/sustainably-managed-working-forests/

No sir, Woodshares is not related to that person/project.

Will you be working sustainable by replanting trees after cutting down timber ? Whats the normal prices prices per ha/acre for timberland in Colombia, whats the salerylevel, fuel costs and such things in Colombia, how does that comepare to other big timber countrys? Do you have any prognoses of profitabillity for the next five, ten, twenty, fifty years and so ? Will you be working sustainable by replanting trees after cutting down timber?
This a member driven project, so if at the end of the 10 years the members vote to replant, we will do it, also in any case we will leave 5% of all the lands with uncuted trees. (This project will gain about 300% of the investement so, even if the members wants to replant, there's going to be some dividends to give to the investors-members) Whats the normal prices prices per ha/acre for timberland in Colombia
Precio Actual Madera (Usd/m3) - 239.13 But you can check more detailed information here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1i1-DkWfXx0P-lEbMFzyjDo0ItscZv36Rd3ZH6OfUXl8/edit#gid=922610014fuel costs and such things in Colombia, how does that comepare to other big timber countrys?
This costs aren't a problem, once again check the spreadsheet. We don't have big funds, so we could yield more profit if we started with 100 hectares instead 10 hectares, also Colombia produces very good wood thanks to the good soil. Do you have any prognoses of profitabillity for the next five, ten, twenty, fifty years and so ?
We have measured the profitability on a 10 year range. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1i1-DkWfXx0P-lEbMFzyjDo0ItscZv36Rd3ZH6OfUXl8/edit#gid=1510925716

how did you get 60k for the "first stage"? edit: oh, ok i think you meant first stage of the first stage... ? Ok, I think we need to clarify this point. The first stage of woodshares is only 10 hectares - about 600k in expenses. And this first crowdsale is for 60k used to purchase the lands, for the soil studies and the establishment of the seedbeds. We're going to have 2 more crowdsales for the first stage. If the project gets enough traction we will do another stage, meaning more land to be added to the entire project. Thanks for the observation.
