This whole deal still smells way too fishy for me. I'm anxious to hear from the people who attended the open house.

So is this Block Erupter capable of litecoin mining with cgminer?
Negative. sha256-based cryptocurrencies only.

Hi Arklan,
Now that you've had time to test these suckers, what is your average actual Mh/s? Just curious.
This is after 18 hours. Something is funny, I'm not getting Th/s out of them. (5s):2.511G (avg):1.695Ph/s | A:8207 R:10 HW:312 U:7.5/m WU:32.9/m
Yeah, something isn't right. Your accepted shares is really low too. Mine seem to settle in at 334.2MH/s That's about right. As for my accepted shares, let me guess, 4+ times as low as they should be? Note the difficulty 4. The pool I use has variable diff, but I can't configure it. So with 4 sets of miners, everything ends up at 1 difficulty. To reduce my (and pool ops) bandwidth, I run them through the stratum proxy (look at screenshot), which funnels it all to one user on the pool's side. That kicks up the difficulty to 4, sometimes 8. M Have you tried connecting to another pool directly? Simplifying your setup might help you to identify the problem.

I see you're using version 3.2.0 of cgminer. I know kano said something about rewriting the USB interface to automatially detect all asics. So, my guess is that it is expecting the WinUSB driver instead of the silab driver that works with 3.1.x. I'm guessing zadig would be your friend in this instance. Just have it install the WinUSB driver. Or, try a 3.1.x build of cgminer, the silab drivers and start it using something similar to: cgminer-nogpu.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S //./COMx -S //./COMy where x and y are the COM ports for your USB miners, reported under Device Manager I use cgminer 3.1.1 I installed these drivers http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspxI then plugged in all of my miners, waiting for each one to get recognized before plugging in the next one. Here's my Device Manager screen: Guessing this part isn't necessary, but I created a clone of the cgminer-3.1.1-windows directory that I use for running my GPUs, and run my USBs from the cloned directory. I renamed cgminer.conf (which was for my GPUs) and just input the URL/user/pass manually when prompted. After cgminer starts, I write out a cgminer.conf so it will save my pool info. I start cgminer using: cgminer-nogpu.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S //./COM12 -S //./COM22 -S //./COM24 -S //./COM25 -S //./COM26 -S //./COM30 -S //./COM33 -S //./COM34 -S //./COM35 -S //./COM36

What the FUCK people? Remember how long other people are waiting for ASIC's? You are complaining about a few days delay? Other offers are on a 6 month delay. NUT THE FUCK UP! Arklan, if you need a taxi, msg me and ill send you BTC for the fare if you cant get a car Whoa! Hold on there, Tallahassee. (lol nut up or shut up!) Arklan had over 2 weeks to get the labels printed, the packaging ready and a ride to the post office lined up. Those are all bullshit excuses. THIS is what he was being paid for. Why should I not be a little pissed about that?
|
|
|
i just want to know why packaging wasnt ready. once you opened the 200, it should have went straight into packages and to the mail.
So, NOTHING was mailed yesterday? No one will get their miners now until Tuesday at the earliest? That's disappointing. I will simply say that having the long weekend to pack them all up, I would expect some serious up rising if they do not all get shipped bright and early on Tuesday. Stay positive people. Fuck that. They better get shipped bright and early TODAY so I at least get them Tuesday. What the fuck good is overnight that takes 5 days? *abrasive comments removed, per SgtMoth's reccommendation - probably a good call.

I'm going to stop updating this list. Nobody ever pays attention to it anyway.
It seems an idiot will invariably come along and throw money at anything. Yes, it's annoying as hell watching "the stupid" on continuous loop. I need to stop reading these threads.

These USB miners are IN HAND
LOL. I guess you didn't specify which hand. I didn't want to lie. That would be wrong. If anybody is interested, that auction has been up for only 12 hours and has 279 views and 18 watchers. Since 336MH/s is just their theoretical limit, you may not want to flatly state " It hashes at 336MH/s." That may come back to bite you. You know how people love to complain.
|
|

Hopefully that will work just fine for you. However, USB 2.0 (spec'd at .5 amp per port) just doesn't seem to allow any power overhead. Wouldn't it be better use a USB 3.0 like this one, to guarantee 1.5 amps per port: http://www.coolgear.com/productdetails1.cfm?sku=USBG-7U3ML&cats=434What about just popping them into open blue USB ports on our rigs?

yea, it's cool. i won't be shipping out this first batch til tomorrow.
Speaking of shipping tomorrow, it would probably be a good idea to ask your post office what their cutoff time is for domestic Express Mail. At my post office it's 1:30 PM. Any Express Mail shipments not received before the cutoff time will not arrive the next day, but the day after. Which would suck, since we also wouldn't get them Monday, it being Memorial Day. I'd really hate to lose 3 additional days of mining. i'll check on this early morning and get over there in time with as many as i can. I don't know why I put the word "additional" in there. It's not like the shipping hasn't been amazingly fast. Pardon my unintended drama. It was the bitcoin fever talking.

They even went through the trouble of doing a press release for the scam. Impressive, but its all total bullshit technobabble to prey on the weak and greedy. Don't give them your money or personal info, obvious (albeit clever and well executed) scam.
This reeks of an Ed Trice scam. The fake press release also fits his m.o.

I'm an investor in this project, not just 2btc. Somewhere in this sea of asic scams there must be someone with integrity, wouldn't you think? You have to spend money to make money and sometimes you take loses. BFL for example is a huge loss for many miners. Espessially considering the quickly advancing technology.
For as many people there are to say scam there will be a greater amount smart enough to have faith and confidence in people trying to build a better project. On a side note- as suspicious as the numbers may seem, you can't expect all the technical details of this device to be publicized. For what I see as obvious reasons. When my card arrives Friday I'll be posting /photos/screenshots as well.
No one here is able to say that they should be able to fund this project on their own no matter the cost. Circumstances are different for as all. If anything I would say people should be happy their being offered an early chance at groundbreaking technology. When someone is yelling at someone because they are sharing an opportunity rather than keeping for themselves, it shows weakness, envy, jealousy. Be strong people. We should be united as miners and as those that participate in a revolutionary concept. Lets embrace that and support one another.
lol Another sock puppet arrives on the scene! Sorry, pinhead. Obvious scam is obvious. It'll be obvious soon enough who's the "pinhead". You can keep repeating the other trolls like a sheep following the herd or you can have some hope that this is legitimate and a desire to see what will actually come. Baaaa Baaaaa *scam* baaaaa

The ridiculous techno-babble sounds a lot like our buddy, Ed Trice. The liquid nitrogen connection is a suspicious coincidence too.

I'll adjust the spreadsheet to reflect that trade, debitme/mdude77. Also, bad news on a personal front. I totally sprained my ankle a couple hours ago. ER trip, crutches, etc. I'm fine longterm, but for the next few days I'm laid up. I'll still be able To ship six and the like, just slower. Sorry! As to how I did it: walking down a driveway, turned mid stride, and rolled it. Swelled up like a softball. Yay! < bitcoin miner unaffected J/K Sorry to hear about the ankle. Hope it heals quickly.

I went on to butterflylabs and told everyone about batch 2..
Oh, this was their response..
Looks like schadenfreude to me. No wonder they got pissy. * abracadabra mumbles something incoherent about OoC and his big fancy words They're big Aussie words (although that one looks Germanic). You're right. "Pissy" comes from the german word "pissen", which means "to piss". haha Awesome!

With a big-ass fan like that, the added benefit greatly outweighs the tiny bit of cooling lost by blowing air up the card's exhaust.
Yeah, I concede that. The more I consider it, the more I realize you wouldn't be able to channel the air through the cards effectively, since it could draw from anywhere.
