241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: March 09, 2013, 02:39:36 PM
I recently installed Microsoft Visual Studio 2012.  I didnt even think of that causing any issues, as we all know how reliable and amazing microsoft software is (sarcasm).  I will try removing VS 2012 and see what happens.
You are doing this backward. If you have Visual Studio then start the Litecoin program under the debugger and it will point you to the problem which causes the crash.

I might have mislead you to believe I am a smart programmer that knows what he is doing.  I ran it in the debugger and im all like  Huh

Does it happen if you install it on another computer?

unfortunately I dont have another computer to test on right now, but I hadnt thought of that yet so I might be able to try over the weekend.

From when you getting this error?
You remember installing or uninstalling any other softwares before or after getting error?
Maybe some VC++ or .net framework packages broken.

I am unable to send my litecoins from my litecoin-qt wallet.  I have posted in other forums with no response after days.

I am currently using Litecoin-QT v0.6.3-beta. OS is Win7 Ultimate SP1 64bit.

When I attempt to send coins the program gives me the following errors and closes itself.

I have uninstalled, removed all appdata, and re installed from scratch (re-downloaded block chain and reloaded my back up wallet .dat file) and still get the same issue.  I have also uninstalled the v0.6.3-beta and replaced with v0.6.3c-beta and still receive the same error.

I get the same error with using sendtoaddress in command line interface.

error: {"code":-1,"message":"ReserveKeyFromKeyPool() : unknown key in key pool"}

Getting frustrated searching forum after forum and google search after google search without finding anything about my issue.   Does anyone have any insight on how I can fix this issue?

I was gonna say go to the bamt website, but i guess that website is down.

Anyways, you could always use the search function on this forum to find this thread:

I'm sure every piece of information that you need is in that thread.

Sadly, I work for a living.  But It could be a lot worse.  I actually don't mind my job, it just seems like a waste of time. For that I am grateful, I can't imagine having a job that you dislike.

Selling your account is OK, but spamming isn't.

Thanks for the answer.  I will continue to ignore PMs like this.

251  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you heard of Litecoin? 1.5 FREE LITECOINS FOR SIGNING UP on: February 20, 2013, 10:58:23 PM
I got my 1.5 LTC.  Thanks!

I dabbled within LTC mining over the past couple of days.  I'm kinda sad my CPU doesn't give me more than like 30 kh/s.  And my 6950 only gets like 6 kh/s.

Something is not set right with your 6950, what are you using? I am getting 8kh/s with a built in 6250, which also seem slow now that I think about it..

I got my issue figured out. Using flags is a requirement (worksize, aggression, etc).  I don't know what my new average is because it seems to fluctuate wildly, but I am getting 300-400+ Kh/s now.

My new issue im trying to figure out - How come the payout from my pool is taking over 24 hours?  I thought since LTC blocks are every 2.5 minutes the transactions would be faster?

imagine all pools as computers owned by other people. some people have it set to auto pay out at certain thresholds, some have it as a daily payout and some have it as a manual payment you request whenever you like. the same thing goes for bitcoin pools. it all depends on the settings/features the pool owner offers. some pools are better/worse then others. so find the best one that suits your needs

I guess I should have been more specific - I manually withdrew my LTC balance on the pool 24 hours ago.  The pool website says my balance is now 0.  My wallet doesn't even show the transaction as unconfirmed yet. When I check the transaction at explorer.litecoin.net, it says "Not yet redeemed" next to my address.  I don't know what that means.

EDIT: I have also double checked my LTC wallet is online, in sync with the network, and has active connections.

I use bitcoins to help fuel my brain into more computer based projects.
254  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's your Mhash/s? (Pissing contest here) on: February 20, 2013, 12:33:26 AM
870 Mh/s  with #3 5830s running in the closet.

Making about 0.21 BTC/day.
255  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is the safe method to exchange bitcoins to cash ? on: February 20, 2013, 12:19:33 AM
My 0.02 BTC-

Do not sell them on ebay, and do not accept paypal as a form of payment.  Neither of those sites have any type of protection for the seller.

I'm logic.

I started mining with a cheap $40 GPU last year once I first heard about bitcoin.  Was interested and thought it was cool.  Left it alone and stopped mining to play video games instead.  Got a decent 6950 for video games and started playing PC games only again for the first time in over a decade.  Then during January of this year, a buddy of mine asked me about bitcoins at a party one night, so my brain turned back on.

I spent some money, built a rig w/ 3 5830s and have it running in the closet.  Once it was running and stable, I then looked around the internet, found this forum, found out about ASICs, pre-ordered a BFL product.  And basically im still reading stuff about bitcoin as much as possible and trying my hardest not to spend more money on a better rig or on any other products available for pre-order.  Everyday it gets harder and harder to not through money at hardware.

BFL have massive supply chain issues. Right now you are looking @ june if you ordered at ASIC rig right now. And by then it'll be all too late, as the ASIC miners are entering the market now and bumping up the difficulty bigtime. Check out the chart. See that spike to the right? Yeah, that's right. ASICs. Lots of them. See that squared red line? Yup, that's the difficulty level - and it just jumped. And will keep on doing so until you receive your BFL. And by then it'll be all too late. Buy your way into coins instead - that's your best shot right now.

I am comfortable with my order timing and the fact that I probably wont make any real profit.  Nevertheless, I still like buying and tinkering with hardware.  Even if it does end up as a continual uphill battle to play catch up.  Still fun for me.  Thanks for the info though, Its basically the same thing I keep reading all around these forums. :-D
