While we are not responsible for fluctuations in the exchange rate, we have chosen to lock the rate to that of Sept. 11th, the day we announced we would be accepting assembly refund requests, in order to attempt to help ease the BTC losses of our customers. The exchange rate will be $126.61 per BTC, based on the price history of Coinbase.

This is epic.  I don't want to see one more negative post about the BTC price fluctuation or about Steamboat being a scammer/thief/whatever.  Steamboat has no obligation to do this, and to be honest this type of thing is unheard of in this business.

Pricing

  • Chips:
Avalon ASIC chips may be ordered for BTC0.086. This fee is due immediately upon order placement.
  • Assembly:
The total price for assembly is $95. This includes $35 for the PCB and board related components, and $60 for assembly, to be paid in BTC.
  • Assembly and DIY Kit:
The DIY kit and fully assembled PCB are $123.5, to be paid in BTC.
  • Fully Assembled Unit:
The fully assembled unit, including all necessary hardware, is $133.5, to be paid in BTC.
  • Hosting:
Hosting fees include 8% of miner revenue production, plus $.06kw/h for electricity used. A setup fee of $15 per unit is necessary to help defray the initial infrastructure costs.
  • Testing:
Free with the purchase of a fully assembled unit.

* Assembly, Assembly and DIY Kit, and Fully Assembled Unit prices do not include the price of Avalon ASIC chips, and are not due at the time of chip purchase.

Very first post of this thread- Notice how the pricing for everything except chips is listed as USD?  That means you paid USD, and your return will be USD.  Case fucking closed.  If you cannot wrap you mind around this, you shouldn't have had any business in this group buy in the first place.

You will not be receiving the same amount of BTC sent to him.  It's that plain and simple.  Constantly bitching about it isnt going to change anything.  If you paid $133.5 in BTC, you will be refunded no more than $133.5 in BTC.

Disappointing to see the price drop although the volume is non existent.  I thought the BTC price increase would help the price, because it makes mining that much more profitable.
I do think there is a chance the price will rebound a bit if we do actually get new mining equipment in the end.  We'll just have to wait and see.

from what I have witnessed, every time the BTC value skyrockets, share prices drop. Every time the BTC value drops, share prices go up.

My advice - Get very accustomed to not making money in the BTC world.  If you can treat it like any other hobby that you will put money into just for the fun of it, then you will be fine.  If you treat it like a money printing business, you are in for a lot of stress and even more lost money.

Confirmed my shares are in my havelock account.  Thanks for taking care of us!

Why would havelock request you to keep everything a secret until now?  My asicminer shares were transferred to havelock with full disclosure from the very beginning.

Given this long delay, I can almost guarantee if we ever do get moved to another exchange, everyone will immediately sell all their shares and the value will dwindle down to nothing.  This transition should have happened weeks ago, like other securities did.

nice idea for stacking/arrangement. I might have to set mine up like that too.

Can someone catch me up on what's going on?  I lost track since the forum was hacked.  I was in Batch 5 and asked for a refund but never got one.  I don't think I'd want one now since I paid in BTC.  Is steamboat shipping or are we still waiting for a finalized version?

You prolly are after the refund cutoff.  2 batches were shipped and received from YIFU.  Miners are still being developed. (actually just the bootloader thingy)  If you want your units shipped as is (before bootloader completetion) then you have to send him an email.  Otherwise you can continue to wait for your units.

Personally, I already received my units as is and don't understand what future firmware could possibly due since mine are mining exactly as expected, if not better.

So, if I sent an e-mail to Steamboat, will the K16s come blank so I would have to flash them? I paid for the complete assembly and testing and the deluxe kit thing...

I'd really like to have these hashing, it's been such a dream for so long, I think I'm still hallucinating...

I received my units as is and they are able to mine perfectly fine out of the box.

Ok, got them working again.  I'm pleased with results. (with exception to current difficulty of course)

 Running with "--klondike-options 325:65"

Are these values usable in the conf file, or do you have to compile with this option?

You can start CGM with those values or place them in config. There is no such option when compiling.

Now that I used the option, the miners are listed, but not actually mining.  what the crud?  I just used --klondike-options 350:60.  I dont know why they would stop completely.

EDIT:  looks like I am getting the "KLNX:X went idle before work was sent" messages.  I knew I should have left them alone the second they starting working in the first place.

Hey Bomb & Xian01,  Download this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.msg3441543#msg3441543  then copy & paste it into cgminer folder (copy & replace) start cgminer and you should see your K16's. I ran tests in my main rig first before moving them

Worked, Thank you!
36  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: November 01, 2013, 12:10:28 PM
How long did it take you guys to get a reply when you requested shipping? It's been over 24 hours and I've heard nothing.

I got my reply with tracking info within 24 hours.  The email did not come from steamboat, and to be honest looked really spamy. but the title said "... has sent you a package."

maybe check your spam folders.

Anyone know of a noob friendly guide to getting these miners to work in windows?  Grin

-edit: My issue is that I cannot get cgminer to recognize the K16s are there.  I got them listed in Device Manager ready to go with WinUSB driver.  No errors in Cgminer, its as if the dont exist.
38  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: October 31, 2013, 11:34:27 PM

received my miners today. Have to eat dinner then I will see if I can get them mining.

Packaging of the product was extremely professional and way more than enough to keep the components safe.  Good job on the packaging job! (picture was after I opened 1 large box full of peanuts which contained two small boxes with more padding inside them)

I got an email saying I have a package in transit.  I think its for my K16s but it came from an unknown email address.  And since I only know the steamboat handle, not sure if the real name used is the same person or not.  I am assuming its from steamboat.  I was originally in group 5 and emailed steamboat yesterday stating to ship the units as is.  So quick response if the email was from him.

Any info on queue placement since a lot of orders were cancelled? I was in batch 5, but will I be moved to an earlier batch?

If I remember correctly, only 2 batches ended up being fulfilled.  So anyone who stuck it out and is waiting on their units, will be in batch 1 or 2 now.
