its literally second layer of ethereum so I guess that does make sense that its actually cheaper than ETH by a significant margin but arguably with BSC it might be similar, but overall
due to the similarity of ethereum ecosystem and polygon I guess indeed its seems more plausible choice to go for polygon since its really active in development and innovation anyway.

you are cherry picking here, other top altcoin that you mentioned are having good increase like sol, even meme coin like doge coin and shiba inu is having good time, also matic climbing quite high if compared with the previous bullrun bottoms, i think its all fine not to mention we aren't even halfway to the bullish season and we nowhere see the altcoin season yet.
remember that altcoin season will come after bitcoin is done with its bullrun usually that happens when bitcoin almost reaching its peak all time high.

totally depends on your approach if you want aggresive investment  you should remove XRP, ADA, DOT, XLM, and LTC from your investment and change it to other coin that are relatively new maybe even AI based coin are gaining big time this time around like FET and RNDR which utilized for the computing power need of AI nowadays.
investing in newer coin in my opinion opens up better opportunity if we want to be rich quick.

depends on what you mean by less popular, if what you mean by less popular is having less market cap then it does make sense to try it out but if what you mean by more popular literally is just means that they aren't popular I already see the project failing before even investing i mean if they are good enough they surely be able to gather enough community for them to grow.

well honestly when a project is releasing their own blockchain probably layer 2 and is being invested heavily by certain companies and take example binance labs, its almost guaranteed that they definitely gonna have token at some point and there will always be some allocation for community. thats what I see from many projects i've seen some pattern here.
but definitely as you said, never expect to get airdrop as if the team owes us something because well they don't usually thats what happens whenever there's announcement that airdrop will have certain criteria to qualify.
