so they saying they will have a partnership with a german bank and they will have debit cards.
I can't wait for the next fuck up now......
I don't think a bank would work with 'anonymous' coins... no way.. my guess is porn code = porn hub https://twitter.com/tokenpay/status/982945018750042112#TokenPay CEO @derekcapo meeting in Munich earlier today for breakfast with key stakeholders of the German bank. A deal in principle has been agreed upon by all parties. We will provide full details at closing, but can say that $TPAY and $XVG debit cards are likely coming soon. All i can say is this is going to be entertaining.....

Out of curiousity as i'am not a pool owner, but only a trader, miner and holder.
How did this attack effect the XVG pools?
For us miners its clear that we lost all the orphaned blocks we mined in this time. How is it for the pools? Is it like they pay for nodes/blocks and lost all these from the attack?
Seriously, never looked further how the pool thingie, nodes and blocks actually work on the pool side.
We lost $12,800 plus an unknown opportunity cost that I estimate around $50,000 as a result of this issue. It affected the pool because our pay-per-share rates are calculated using, in addition to coinbase value, transaction fees, and orphan rate, the difficulty. Shares were worth hundreds of dollars during that time and the orphan rate was 100%. We had to exercise our policy of paying customers LTC + 15% during the 4 hours we earned nothing, which amounted to $12,000 in losses, plus about $300 in salaries answering 150 support tickets about the issue, plus about $500 in developer time spent addressing the problem instead of preparing for the upgrades to our servers this weekend. There was also a large opportunity cost caused by the negative publicity of exercising our LTC + 15% policy, and we now have about 10% fewer customers than we did before the Verge incident. I'd estimate the lost profit by the bad publicity will be around $50,000 over the lifetime of the pool. It's not surprising that pools aren't mining Verge anymore. This is probably the worst thing to happen to us since Cryptsy's theft. We were 17% of the Verge network before this happened. As to the issue being "fixed," I hope people can understand our reluctance to mine this coin again. We'll reevaluate in a few weeks or in May if there are no issues. so honest pool operators get shafted while the "hacker" has been rewarded with millions of coins. Lovely.

it was not fixed yet. It will be fixed with fork at block 2042000 So we are now at block 2042510 blocks as I write this. Where is the fix? Cause it sure seems like it ain't working. Also why on earth would the dev not want to blacklist the addresses of the hacked coins? That's yet another major red flag. Also what the fuck is that? 2042510 d75fd6ce1d0450e131a6b6b0575a92ae31ae8c0abe235dde17d13f426ac294e0 2 3120.00000000 Sun, 08 Apr 2018 05:36:56 2042510 d6026a130af0a94fed1e4b9906ff7fe986ca575a7b5404b5ffc1b5121eb8d8e2 1 2054131.00000000 Sun, 08 Apr 2018 05:36:56 2042510 977f861bad3c83743ef173dc9e4af66718bc0273f0cc2d9833548de7ff504c93 1 1781358.00000000 Sun, 08 Apr 2018 05:36:56 2042510 e6327ebcd4c4624dabadc8c98aca5db94c833211131b1862f8e0f16831ece290 1 1484985.00000000 Sun, 08 Apr 2018 05:36:56 2042510 57adf4d0e54f4036f64bda6c0857fac88c099662e53a72b850173ee5959312f7 1 4313964.00000000 Sun, 08 Apr 2018 05:36:56 2042510 88caa3d2676f66eff294dd77b0d6d4bc3e22258d5cd87e8b7fbcd0628cbd06b4 1 3017206.00000000 Sun, 08 Apr 2018 05:36:56 Can someone get millions of coins in 1 block?

BTW that company that matched donation value was no one else then Tokenpay ICO, in which xvg main dev is team member. Check their tweets luring money from ppl in form like: "don't be late for deal of century" or "guys if you can give 15 millions of xvg, we will pay the rest". Bitconnect style formulations...
Ah... interesting. I did not realize that a Verge Team member was part of Tokenpay. https://www.tokenpay.com/Sunerok - Verge Currency (XVG) BLOCKCHAIN AUDIT The plot thickens....

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/8af0gc/let_me_get_this_straight_about_verge/Let me get this straight about Verge... (self.CryptoCurrency) submitted 10 hours ago * by Harucifer
So, Verge is pretty "big" for an alt/shitcoin. I remember the hype started when John McAffe (the "celeb" who gets paid for his tweets) tweeted about it, and it's been a shitshow ever since. And the dumb money KEEPS FLOWING IN.
Back in November/December, McAffe tweets about Verge (probably got his $105,000.00 for that). Hype starts building up. Verge had a "Wraith Protocol" update coming up on a set date. Dev didn't keep true to his word and postponned it. When it finally came out, it wasn't anything impressive. Dev made a post asking about paying taxes related to cryptos/coinbase. A few hours after said post, he started a "Give Verge to our pool so we can reveal big news on day XX/YY!!!1" Didn't get enough money, some company matched the donation value so he would reveal it anyway. Didn't reveal it. Postponned to April 16th. Two days ago, their Blockchain was hacked. Dev pushed a "fix" and said everything was fine. Wasn't, as hacker still mined free XVG. Now Dev pushed another "fix". It was a hardfork. He didn't know it was a hardfork. Let me repeat that. The Dev. Didn't. Know. He. Pushed. A. Hard. Fork. Despite all this, XVG is riding a pretty substantial rocket in value, gaining crazy percentages in a consolidated bear market. This honestly feels JUST LIKE BITCONNECT. Dumb money flows in, colorblind to all the red flags that keep popping up and probably thinking they're gray or green.
I'm at a loss for words. If anyone knows an exchange that allows me to short Verge, please PM it to me. I'll love some free money when this shit booms.

- Sunerok posts about his frozen Coinbase funds, says taxes are coming up: https://i.redd.it/b5b57ycgwko01.jpg- Announces fundraiser for 'the biggest partnership in cryptocurrency' a few days later. - Not enough donations so Tokenpay, a coin ranked 1317 on CMC, pays the remaining funds so they can announce the partnership on monday. - Postpones the announcement to April 16th. - Realizes tax day is on April 17th so postpones the announcement to April 17th. - ? - Profit! shit. i need to order even more popcorn now.

Thank you for the long and detailed post. You know what? I am calling the verge team thieves. They are stealing xvgs and no one else whosoever!!!!! They can do what ocminer advised but they have closed their fucking ears. Do they have ears? I highly doubt. I didn't do enough research. But I didn't lose much money. I just only lost hope. Fuck them. They will burn in hell with their loots.
I understand your frustration. But calling them names or cursing them will change nothing unfortunately. What you see here might as well have nothing to do with them having closed their ears. It could be that they just plainly don't understand the code so they are incapable of providing a fix. Months ago, when I did my research on Verge looking at the source code I realised that the lead dev is at most a Junior dev that lacks the experience to provide any high quality complex code. This has been proven so many times by their "accidental" mistakes or the copy/pastes that include bugs of others.. Any rants/vents I had, went immediately away. There was no point in venting at a fish because it will not fly.. Its incapable of doing this in the first place.. Take the whole thing as a lesson. An experience to make us smarter in researching and making our choices. Calling a dev a junior only because uses part of code from others dev makes you the junior here. I'm a dev too and I honestly do the same to release something faster. If you understand what other devs have done in their code is legit to use it (under proper licence). Then you might have miss-understood me, as if you read on this thread you will also see examples of copy-pasted code that contained bugs that should have been fixed before committing that code. Or other examples that I personally encountered such as commiting "OpalCoin" error messages in your code while your coin is called Verge. Don't you think these are something a medior/senior would never do..? The whole point is that these are old examples, and to date you would expect a "lead" dev to have a proper QA process in place able to catch those rookie mistakes, and also prevent accidental mistakes.. But here we are talking about another fiasco.. Its not about releasing fast. Its about doing the mistake once, then putting in place a process that will alarm you for the same mistakes in the future.. Thats what experience is about.
