How long is the credit knife or do you not know?
A credit card is 85.6 x 54 mm, and the credit card knife has the same dimensions when it's unfolded. The blade length is ~65mm along the sharp edge

Then that should be fine in the uk might get one Smiley

I recommend it. I ordered one from GlobalBTC and use it as a box cutter for around the house. Easy storage, good durability.

Just need to mine some nice lovely coins to get one.
722  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitspend.net Launches - Allowing you to spend your Bitcoins anywhere online! on: March 16, 2013, 05:25:04 PM

We launched and had an immediate surge of business, causing us to grow very very quickly.  That shouldn't be a bad thing  Grin

Any evidence of this?

Of which part Smiley

If you'd like to see our growth, then feel free to come by our new offices Monday (should you be in South Florida--or anyone else).  You can even help us get these desks up the stairs because they don't fit in the elevator!

As far as people who have used our service so far, here is one post that comes to mind: http://www.everything-voluntary.com/2013/03/my-purchase-from-amazon-with-bitcoins.html  you can also find mention of us being used by others, in many places and languages(there are Japanese and Portuguese articles).

I understand your skepticism, and it is good to have it.  However the over $7,000 in purchases made through Bitspend by our customers since Monday, show that we are doing well enough a job of earning trust so far.  Now we will continue to do so going forward, and in the end be able to earn the trust and business of those, who like yourself, will wait for further validation of our business before using our service.  We accept that challenge!

When I next get a little bitcoins might give it a try from the uk see how it works.

724  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: UK ISP problems with mining on: March 16, 2013, 05:16:37 PM
I had the same problems, BT were an expensive waste of space, Orange were a cheaper waste of space - but I'm now with TalkTalk who are the cheapest of all and I've not noticed any throttling on my connection so no longer need a vpn either. Who are you using?

I will have to give talktalk a try to see what they are like.

I'm using this VPN currently www.mullvad.net

Newbie posting a business idea where your bitcoins can be spent anywhere.

This looks extremely sketchy.

My account isnt listed as a newbie Smiley

Also, we arent posting an idea--but a post about an existing company.  You can feel free to Google us, we have recently gone through a round of funding, and have been very public in many places since we launched.

If you look around, you will even find quotes from many prominent people in the BTC community who have already used our service successfully!

I see your time around and raise you

728  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox not pay real money WARNING!!!! on: March 16, 2013, 12:09:39 AM
I had some thousands transferred within 24hrs to my bank account the other day in Australia from Gox, they have been quick every time that I have used them. The problem lies with the banking system not Gox.
Might just be the euro/uk banks that are slowing them down I'm willing to bet a lot of their banks are annoying.

No doubt it can be frustrating for you folk waiting and getting standard cut and paste answers, hopefully bitcoin will eventually get to the point of not being needed to swap in and out of fiats on exchanges as much as it is today.
I have been bitcoin mining for about 2 weeks and been searching for a decent way the only one I have found so far is https://www.virwox.com/index.php

But I have to go from BTC to SLL then from SLL to GBP and by that my 0.5 bitcoins worth about £15 are down to about £10 thanks to fees.

If a decent community member knows a better way for me to get it into bank/paypal without me loosing £5 I would happily give them £5.

my isp keeps on throttling my internet connection since it is counted as p2p.

Does this help?

I tried tor and the connections in the uk are not the greatest.

I'm using a VPN that I do not trust I need to find a better one that is more uk/euro based.

Plus with VPN it really annoys my ISP.

I don't want to use any post count limits because they'll incentivize people to post garbage.
If they are posting garbage though you will know they will be a high risk of being a scammer.

734  Economy / Lending / Re: Need to lend 10 BTC will payback 20 when it mines. on: March 15, 2013, 11:13:09 PM
If I wanted to scam you for bitcoins why would I be lending such a small amount.

Ok, you got me there. Send coins to the address in my sig and whatever you send will be doubled and sent back to you.

Send 1btc to his address.  If he doesn't send 2btc back to you, the forum will label Tomatocage as a scammer.   Smiley

I rather eat an entire house then even think about sending him any kind of coins.
735  Other / Meta / Re: This forum is infested with scammers on: March 15, 2013, 11:11:18 PM
That or make it so that you need to hit a post count (200 should be good) or donate an amount of bitcoins before you are even aloud to post in lending never mind make a thread but it would have to be a high amount to put of scammers.
736  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mainstream media starts to attack Bitcoin on: March 15, 2013, 02:36:00 AM

Make the bitcoins crow and expand more and more people will be searching.

737  Economy / Goods / Re: Now on Bitmit: Knives! on: March 15, 2013, 01:56:57 AM
Found this it follows most of euro and uk law.

Basic laws on knives

It is illegal to:

sell a knife of any kind (including cutlery and kitchen knives) to anyone under 18
carry a knife in public without good reason - unless it’s a knife with a folding blade 3 inches long (7.62 cm) or less, eg a Swiss Army knife
carry, buy or sell any type of banned knife (the list of banned knives is below)
use any knife in a threatening way (even a legal knife, such as a Swiss Army knife)

How long is the credit knife or do you not know?

UK law yes, EU law - NO! (you should look up the laws of the specific country)
UK is a police state and has some of the most fucked up knife laws in the world, thank god other EU countries are not as bad.

I highlighted the part you might of missed.

I just listed a peculiar knife on Bitmit:

Card-sized foldable knife

I also have another peculiar knife listed since before:

Battery operated knife
