I think there's a market for trading more than just LTC, would stop the hassle of having to convert alts to BTC when you want to cash out.
LTC will be first. We will see which coins get added.

i personally support ltc myself. but to be honest i think it would be wise to set up a site to trade cryptocurrencies. maybe you can start with ltc and then add more trusted and proven to be non pump&dump currencies in future. so fixating on locallitecoins name is not advised really. maybe localcrypt.com or localalts.com.. you get the point.
Good idea. Will start first with litecoin and then maybe add more later on.

I just want to announce I am creating a new platform for litecoin to be traded locally. This is very important for litecoin, as a site to trade litecoin for cash will always be needed and it's good to have alternatives to localbitcoin.com. Does anyone wanna help? In particular with design. Hit me up with suggestions for logo and site layout and I will award the best with 25 LTC. Does anyone have a suggestion for a cool name? Please post all design contributions here: http://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/comments/1omvja/creating_a_new_localbitcoin_platform_but_for/

Are you going to background check every issuer? Are you going to solve some of the many risks involved with all this? What are some of your solutions so that we can have distributed regulation along with the exchange?
Please forgive me for my ignorance. But what makes it better with background check on every issuer? People can still scam. Just like mtgox can any day possible say they got hacked and funds are gone. What does it matter if you know the identity of the person? I have not been following labcoin at all so I will not comment if they are a scam or not. But what if they were not a scam and just a big screw up. If so, what would have helped if you had known their identity? In the end you always have to trust the issuer, no matter what.

Bitmit support has accidentally released the escrow when I made it clear I did not receive anything. Support says it was an 'accident' but refuses to refund 4.8 BTC. I am now out of 4.8 BTC and I have received nothing.
I think that's not true. I am not aware of such an "accidentally" escrow release. Can you please provide more information (orderID, your username) so we can investigate. I did not find any information, especially no outgoing mail or msg which contained the word "accident". I talked to Bitmit on skype, that is not you? Greg it is clear you are a state actor. Stop trying to idntiy us, bitcoin was anonymous for a reason and you are trying to ruin this. go back to patting down at the airpot
Unfortunately running a fund where the participants are anonymous is not going to survive very long, especially from a UK based financial fund manager. Bitcoin is anonymous, running a hedge fund is not. Then run an anonymous hedge fund. EDIT: This post was done by a hacker that took control over my account. No - try harder. The facts are that Ripple is a distributed payment network. With that established, what, specifically, about it is centralized in your opinion?
Ah, I got where ur logic failed. You do, do you? That's cool. Let's see what you "got", shall we? U think that distributed == decentralized. Think again. Oops... I already see a small problem here and I'm not referring to the silly use of the letter "u" as a substitute for the pronoun "you". No, the problem is that I never made the claim that "distributed == decentralized", nor do I believe that distributed implies decentralized. Such a belief would just be completely silly. So with that established, I will reiterate: I fail to see what's "centralized" about Ripple. Can you please tell me what you mean by "centralized" and what, specifically, is centralized about Ripple in your opinion? Inquiring minds want to know. ripple shill! you know ripple is centralized.. who owns 100 million xrp. EDIT: This post was done by a hacker that took control over my account. I am looking for empoyees for a new bitcoin blacklist. this would be a blacklist of addresses that clients would reject transactions from. if an address is proven to be the FBI, a scammer, or bitcoin is stolen it will be added to this address. employees will be paid with 0.01 BTC per address submitted.

Bitcoin will not succeed to the masses if the first thing someone hears is gambling or drugs. The Silk Road seizure was the best thing that ever happened to Bitcoin - it hurt the image temporarily, but in the long term Bitcoin without illegal narcotics is good for the success of Bitcoin. However, there are many gambling sites that are still in existence. For Bitcoin to succeed, we must get rid of these sites.
I recommend bitcoin users stop playing unregulated internet gambling and report these sites to your authorities. Anything illegal is not good for bitcoin
