So glad to see you surrender guys and sell your coins. It means everything is going well!
"The bubble will come when no one expects it"
Seems like we are at that moment now.  Wink

The other killer flaw of Monero is non-zero transaction fees. A coin with zero-transaction fees can surpass it quickly.
So when mining is finished who is going to pay the miners?
Nothing in this world come for free you should know that. This was the stupidest statement I have ever read from you.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: July 27, 2014, 05:39:14 PM
Whats the best anon coin to date? What about Zerocash?  Huh
There's no viable solution as of yet. No matter what you buy, you're investing in promises.
Monero is fully working 100% anonymous transactions, the code is open source just look for yourself.
Monero is a year or more away from being a viable option. Functional does not necessarily imply viable.
What are you even talking about?
The network works fine, transactions get sent and confirmed, difficulty has doubled in 10 days.

Any word on when Monero might be getting added to Cryptsy?
BCX stated that he talked with Cryptsy and it will be added as soon as they figure out how.
Expect a large price increase when this happens.
Monero is in case you don't know, completely different from Bitcoin so the exchanges have the to do special changes to their deposit and withdrawal systems to support Monero.
This is only good, it allows Monero to grow slowly.

Litecoin is the "Roman empire" of cryptos. They community really think they stay biggest altcoin forever. Just because of their history and some good numbers (in ratings/scorings) they still have, because the project is so old and once was seen as promising by the general CC scene, before the project failed and became inactive.
They think they are "to big to fail". Wink Because obvious ALL altcoins are inferior to LTC, because LTC has this $200.000.000 market cap or 200 more full nodes vs. DogeCoin. Real-life comedy.
Litecoin will still be a store of value just like Bitcoin is I am sure.
The thing is that people really manipulate the market by writing writing everywhere Litecoin is dead and then it arises from the ashes.
Monero can be the third coin no doubt about it.

BCX replied he liked the coin and will mine it. I like that. He does in fact have a lot of hashing power I am sure.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins have achieved something unique that other coins don't have? on: July 26, 2014, 09:54:42 PM
Monero, anonymous currency. Not some shit like Darkcoin, who was terrible designed from the very beginning with centralized masternodes.

Skinnkavaj seems to have bought Monero recently, hez pumping it on every thread

Will the support hold?

So far so good.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: July 24, 2014, 08:16:13 PM
Problem is that it's very difficult to find the hashing algorithm that would be really ASIC resistant, not to mention GPU. For instance, Primecoin which included large integer algorithms that should be difficult for GPUs was soon transferred to GPU mining. All scrypt algos are prone to GPU mining. I tried to find some hashing algorithms that would favor RISC processors, since they dominate modern smartphones, but I've failed to find any. If anybody has some info about such algos it would be very nice to share that info here.

I find it hard to believe that any form of PoW mining (regardless of algorithm) on a smartphone would ever be popular given battery life considerations.

I don't understand why people try to make coins ASIC resistant. Nothing is ASIC resistant.

Why wouldn't it make sense for Intel to use SHA256 since Bitcoin has become such a big phenomena.
Is AES better?

Bitcoin is not a big phenomenon on the scales Intel cares about.

Might be big enough not far away in the future.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ::::::: The Great Pumper - Rpietila ::::::: on: July 24, 2014, 05:11:54 PM
Shhhh after a long time we have a Litecoin like PnD and people will not let it be  Roll Eyes

In any case, I think the right CN coin to pump is Boolberry.  Cool
Boolberry is such a bad name marketingwise Monero is much better.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: July 24, 2014, 05:10:01 PM
Instead I think the best goal is the algorithm should be one that it is likely to be highly needed for general computing and thus Intel will continue to accelerate it and motherboard vendors might even build on an ASIC to each motherboard. Bitcoin USB ASICs with the similar power efficiency of the bigger models now cost only $15 at Amazon.com.
Isn't Bitcoins SHA256 used widely not only for mining already?

Intel is proposing to accelerate SHA2. But this is going to take years to be implemented and adopted by a majority of computers.

AES is already accelerated on Intel CPUs. And every one is going to need encryption in this brave new NSA world.

I'd bet on AES instead of SHA2 as reaching ubiquity sooner.

GPU can be defeated because it doesn't have specialized instructions and the CPU does, but preventing ASICs is impossible.

I had thought of both of the ideas mentioned in the "ASIC Resistance" section. Neither will defeat ASICs. And I see that Vitalik hasn't seen my analysis of Cuckoo hash, because I argued it can also defeated with an ASIC.

If he really wanted to artificially pump XMR, the price would be at least 0.1 right now. He simply has more than enough BTC to do so.

He stated that he invested less than 1 or few percent of total BTC holding into XMR, and that amount alone made him one of biggest XMR holders (if not the biggest)/

I think Rpietila really believes in Monero and isn't trying to manipulate the market,
maybe he's only too much excited about it.

wow LOL

3000 BTC = $1,816,620 USD

so uhhhhhhhhhh

are you REALLY that dumb ?
It is true.

Bitcoin seems to be locked in downtrend, that could last for weeks. That could make Monero extremely attractive as a hedge.
Already seen it today. Monero holding up very good.
Wouldn't be suprise to see another run up to 0.015-0.020 in a few days.

Wait, so how many BTC does rpietila own?
3000 BTC he owns.
I still understand why rpietila is buying in, Monero is a great privacy coin no doubt. Unlike centralized masternodes, Monero is fundamentally different from BTC. It's based on CryptoNote.

OMG THIS IS THE SILK ROAD EVENT!

We are on our way to new ATH!

www.litecoinlocal.org is an exchange that needs volume, it offers zero fee forever. Could be great for bots.
