Yes, just contact me.  The current price for bonds directly from Lab_Rat is 0.065BTC each.  Purchase will be treated in largely the same way as a transaction in the share trading thread, except there will be no seller.

But there will be a fee?
Yes, there is a fee for all manual bond transactions.  I have been setting it each Monday, targeting about $10.  Accordingly, this week the fee is 0.01BTC per transaction.

348  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: December 04, 2013, 01:38:08 PM
The two weeks (plus a little change from beforehand) I'm putting every penny of into the company.  I'm not taking ANYTHING for power, rent, management fees, etc. And there are 2 things I have in the works right now that will blow everyone away once I can finally share them.  The 100TH club is no problem to reach in the very near future.

As per bond pricing, there are some liquidity issues with the amount of people actively trading bonds and also willing to put up with the current available means of trading.  I'm working on a way to legally get trading back up and running for LRM.

If you're interested in grabbing some bonds directly from me, I have a limited amount available, but don't want to sell too many until after I make the announcements as I feel the price is extremely low with what I have in the works.

How does taking bonds from you work? Will you announce a price here? Do we have to PM or mail you (risk getting lost in the massive amounts of PM and mail you're most likely getting)? Through grnbrg?
I'm interested in a few more, so if you read this, please feel free to take the initiative and PM me all information I need to know Smiley

350  Economy / Securities / Re: Official Labrat Mining (LRM) Share Trading Thread on: December 02, 2013, 03:51:10 PM
It's Monday, and Bitcoin has been toying with $1000 for the last week.  Last year at this time it was around $12.  Wow.

Accordingly, the transaction fee for bond transfers will be 0.01BTC for the next week.

And a repost of the guide again.

  • Seller has a public Bitcoin address <Seller-Address>, Buyer has a public address (which may be new, if the buyer does not currently hold any LRM bonds) <Buyer-Address>.
  • Buyer and Seller have agreed on the number of bonds, and a price for the transfer.
  • Fee for the transaction is 0.01BTC.
  • Both Buyer and Seller need to sign and send the below message to me, via PM, email, IRC, carrier pigeon, or some other method.  I don't care how it gets to me, I just need the message.
  • The message should be a single line of text.  Multiple lines tend to be easier to mess up.
  • Message should be:
<Number> bonds to be transferred from <Seller-Address> to <Buyer-Address> in exchange for <Price> BTC. <Price> BTC will be escrowed to 1EYVW3ZUu3R8fd3xtWi5jh4ceTXZ7Z1uht and <Price - 0.01> will be paid to <Sellers-Address>
  • BTC can be sent to escrow at 1EYVW3ZUu3R8fd3xtWi5jh4ceTXZ7Z1uht (my address) at any time in the process.  If the transaction fails, I will return 100%.
  • Once I have verified the signatures from both messages and received the payment, I will transfer the payment (less the fee) to the seller.
  • Once the seller is paid, I will communicate the trade to Lab_Rat, the buyer and seller, and post it publicly here.  This final trade notification will be signed with my GPG key.

Note that the above message is just a suggestion, which assumes payment of the fee by the seller.  As long as it is unambiguous, and states the obligations of all involved, it really doesn't matter.  There is also no requirement to escrow through me, as long as the payment method is clear in the signed messages.  And it's best to not include the userid or contact info of either party in the message.  It's not needed, and some people will object to being so identified.

Also worth noting is that for merged mining, the pool needs to be modified to support it.  The pool operator may not be interested in doing so.

I have something very big in the works that would mean LRM is very sustainable.  I can assure you of that.

Have you thought much about moving operations to (or starting new operations in) Washington state for the really cheap electricity?

I was just told Iceland is looking to bring big business there and are offering completely free power for the time being... That's what I'm looking into  Smiley

Also:  I have a bridge for sale.  Top quality!  Very inexpensive.

Big cold-storage wallet: printed, laminated, in a ziplock baggie, in a Pelican waterproof case, inside my fireproof safe.

What I want to do is 3d print my private key qr-code and store that in a safe.
What's your plan if there's a fire, and it turns out the fireproof safe is less fireproof than expected?

Idea to encrypt wallet with gpg and spread it over world is awesome. But in short term it seems overcomplicated to work with it at daily basis(is it not?) and in long term you are still depending on private key (another storing or loosing problem...)

It's an encrypted backup, not an active wallet.  Day-to-day use is with your secure client, and you update your wallet backup occasionally, although probably less often than you think.

Paper wallets tend to be unencrypted.  If someone breaks into the bank, and steals the QR code with your cold wallet private key, you're screwed.  If you've got a backup of an old cold wallet that's encrypted, but you don't remember the password(s), you're screwed.  If you have a single backup of your cold wallet as a paper wallet, and both the backup and the offline computer is destroyed in a house fire, you're screwed.

GPG encryption is going to be more reliable than virtually any physical security you can name, assuming you select a secure enough passphrase.  And a digital file who's security you trust more than any bank vault can be copied anywhere, making it virtually impossible to lose all copies.

360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you protect your personal wallet? on: November 25, 2013, 04:46:48 PM
If my coins ever amount to a few thousand $$, I'll be creating an offline system for cold storage.  The wallet files for that system will be treated the same way as my current wallets...  Encrypted by the client, then GPG encrypted, and stored on multiple servers and locations.

I trust GPG more than I would trust a bank vault, and certainly more than a USB drive.  I have GPG encrypted copies of my wallet on several home servers, my work computer, stored as GMail attachments, GDrive files, etc.  I want there to be no chance of losing it.

Also, looking to the future, if I create a cold storage wallet that I don't intend to access for years, I will be storing encrypted copies of the plaintext keys, not a binary-format wallet.  Formats change, and I don't want a file that bitcoin-qt 0.8.5 reads now, but bitcoin-wallet 7.4.2 doesn't understand.  (Paper wallets already have this "feature", as they tend to just be a QR Code with the private key...)

My 0.000024096BTC...
