121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can you do with Bitcoins but can't do with Dollars? on: August 16, 2018, 12:52:20 AM
Bitcoin is a digital currency, and has a very high value compared to dollars, so bitcoin can be invested as a digital asset, whereas for dollars it's a real currency!

Even though bitcoin is a currency, it can still be treated as an asset because many are buying it as an investment so that in the future, when the price goes up, they can sell it for a profit. There is a possibility for it to increase in price in a short period of time because of its volatility that's why it has the advantage over dollars since it has limited supply so as long as the demand is there, it's price will increase. Dollars would just continue to go down in value because it has unlimited supply since anytime, they can just print additional dollars or any other fiat currency for that matter.

What can you do with Bitcoins, but can not do with dollars?
Hello everybody. The most important thing is that I can send any amount of Bitcoin for several hours, and sometimes, several minutes, to anywhere in the world without leaving home. And I'm attracted more to Bitcoin because its price has risen very much in the past few years. And the dollar is now cheaper than the same 5 years ago.

The direction of dollar and bitcoin is opposite because as time flies, bitcoin's value goes up while dollar's value goes down over the years due to inflation. In terms of sending money and opening accounts, it is just easier to create a bitcoin wallet and you don't even need documents to do so while in banks, a lot of documents is needed that's why many people do not have bank accounts because they cannot provide the documents.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Hard times on: August 15, 2018, 11:43:42 AM
There are so many crypto investors around having the same story like you. It's inevitable and it's normal because nobody really knows how bitcoin and alt coin behaves in the next couple of days or months. Just hold whatever cryptos you have in your wallet man. I believe that everything's going to be alright because i am still optimistic of bitcoin reaching another new all time high.

A lot of investors who invested last December are frustrated with their situation but then when you have a chance to buy more now to average down then it would be a good chance to accumulate. You can also think of trading and earning a little because it would be accumulated anyway. If you lose, then take it as a lesson and think of a more effective strategy to profit from the market. All of us will start from scratch and only those who would be able to conquer their fears and move on would be successful eventually.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Look at the market, are you scared? on: August 15, 2018, 11:38:47 AM
An experienced trader can earn in a falling market. Do not need to be afraid of anything, now is just the time that frightens weak hands. Now those investors who will hold out, that's it they will get a good profit! need to wait and everything will be fine!

Yes, those experienced traders are earning no matter where the market goes because they have a plan and exactly have a buy and sell price that would help them decide to have a rational mind when trading. They can short the market if they want to and according to some traders, it is easier to short the market because when it falls down, it is fast and takes sometime to go back up.

To be honest, yes. I did not expect that ETH will fall in price so much. Almost all tokens fell in price and it's terrible. This greatly changes the amount on my wallet. It remains only to wait for the increase.

Well, we are humans so it is just natural for us to be afraid. I am also a bit hesitant now of the market but then seeing the recovery after the dump, there will always be buyers out there willing to push the price higher. It is just a hiccup before the bull run. Knowing that there is anticipated announcement about ETF next month. This should be exciting.
124  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you think that the price is fully manipulated? on: August 15, 2018, 12:43:11 AM
I believe the cryptocurrency market is always manipulated by wealthy investors. Many coins are heavily priced and fluctuate according to the speculators as well. Because the market is so small, so much easier to manipulate, I hope that when the market is mature enough it will not happen again.

Yes, there is a manipulation but not fully manipulated wherein they are controlling the price all the time or buy and sell all the time. It is just that the ones who are holding the big amount of coins would initiate the movement of price so that the retail investors/ traders would pick up the news that there is something happening with the coin so they would buy or sell their coins and then those big holders would eat those orders.

When the market is bearish, they would push the price lower making the holders worry and panic sell so that they can buy the coins at a cheap price. When they want to sell, they would organized a pump and then later on when the price is high enough, they would dump it to the buyers again and then price would just plunge down but they already have profits since they sold at the top.
125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin fall down to 5K this month? on: August 15, 2018, 12:37:12 AM
Can't remove the chance and it's possible.

But as long a it remain strong at $6,000 until August 20, it's unlikely.

And September is also coming as we've known that the decisions of ETF can be another thrilling action for the market.

Seeing how it drops down below $6k below yesterday and drops like there are no buyers for some time, it is really possible that $5k would be reach sooner or later. But then when we think about the most anticipated news as of the moment which is the Exchange Traded Fund then there may be a possibility for it to shoot up again especially if it is a good news. For now, let's hope for the best because many are getting frustrated of the market and losing their patience.

I would like to ask what's with August 20 why it's unlikely to drop when it has retained its support?
126  Economy / Economics / Re: Beside Cryptocurrenices where would you invest? on: August 14, 2018, 01:43:27 PM
Oh, gold is a very good choice as well as platinum (the price for this metal is also growing steadily). If you have a lot of money, you can invest it in some private property.

Gold and other precious metals are good investments because they wouldn't be worthless and even if they tagged cryptocurrency as the digital gold, gold would still be superior to it in terms of being known since all people know gold but only a little percentage of people know cryptocurrency currently.

I was looking at real estate. As long as shelter remains one crucial basic needs of man, then, real estate will continue to attract much interest and huge demand. Whenever another bull run comes, I'm thinking of diversification. Taking some portion of my portfolio to the real estate industry.

Definitely, shelter is one of the needs of human being and no matter how expensive it is, people would do something about it because it is a need. Real estate is a good investment and if it is land then it would always be going up because we cannot produce land. When it is about buildings and houses then you can rent it out if you have more of it so it is far more safer investment than cryptocurrencies.
127  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-13] Bitcoin Trading Is Illegal in Saudi Arabia, Warn Watchdog on: August 14, 2018, 01:38:19 PM
This news is incorrect or misunderstood.
The source of this news is here[1], "Unfortunately there are some mistakes in translation."
The original version is in Arabic [2] talk about:

 - Cryptocurrencies are not supported within the Kingdom, and dealing with it is risky.
 - Bitcoin is not considered a certified currency in the Kingdom, and therefore the allegations "that is a certified currency" in the Kingdom is incorrect.

Accordingly, Bitcoin is not considered a certified currency Not "Bitcoin Trading Is Illegal in Saudi Arabia"
also, There is a Bitcoin ATM in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia[3]

Thank you for pointing out the misunderstanding. Knowing that they have an ATM in Saudi Arabia is just an evidence that they do not consider it as illegal. Maybe sooner or later when more Middle East would consider adopting cryptocurrencies like UAE then they would just regulate it then instead of restricting people to have dealings with transactions.

They claim to be trying to protect their citizens from a high risk investment, but in reality, bitcoin is probably a much better store of value than most of the fiat currencies that governments around the world are issuing right now in the long run. By outlawing instead of regulating exchanges within your country, you're actually generating even more risk for the users.

Government would rather choose something that they control which is fiat than having bitcoin as a "certified currency" because they may not benefit from the transactions and as what they say, they are afraid that people will involve themselves in something illegal because of anonymity feature of it.
128  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How do you earn money in the blockchain economy? on: August 14, 2018, 12:43:37 AM
In most cases, I just buy good coins and store them to the best rate - I still participate in projects ico - I like to work this way, there can be very good profits, now I have a draft BOOSTO I consider it very promising. Basically I'm in profit, although not just finding the best project.

Same case here. I would just buy coins and then wait for sometime to sell it. I do join some bounty campaigns too to earn much more if I am not doing well with my trades and/or investments especially nowadays when the market is down and people are feeling again the hopelessness in their investments as it continue to plunge.

I am planning though to search for a project wherein I can earn coins by using their platform like a social media platform perhaps wherein I would be paid by posting in it and interacting to people. In this way, I would be using a coin for its actual use case and not just for trading. It would be great to share it to other people too. So far, the coin that I have been using for its actual use case is bitcoin and binance coin.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Opinions and Impressions about bitcoin on: August 14, 2018, 12:29:08 AM
Couldn't blame them though honestly. Bitcoin "investment" scams are everywhere on social media(especially on 3rd world countries); as well as news about how people got rekt through bitcoin investment scams. So chances are, because of those news, a good number of people would now associate bitcoin with scams. Which is definitely very unfortunate. The only thing we can do is to educate people to not be deceived by those schemes. You see a Facebook post about those schemes, report it. Though I'm not 100% if reporting on Facebook actually does something.

Yeah, I have seen so many scam in facebook about cloudmining and I am one of those victims by those scam too before when I am just new to cryptocurrency because I am greedy so I learned my lesson. Seeing how people interpret easily bitcoin as scam when they see the news makes me think that they should be taught that it is not what they perceived it to be but when I try to explain to them, they would just have a cold shoulder later on because they are afraid that they might be convince and then be scammed.

I got the same reactions when i tried to introduce my friends to bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I realized that people with no knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency believe what ever they hear from the media.

Media has a big influence on the sentiment of the people and more often than not, their report about cryptocurrency is negative since they focus more on negative things that's why when they heard someone explaining it to them, they would just conclude immediately that it is scam. Nowadays, I don't explain to people anymore if they wouldn't approach me first.

130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alt coin are bleeding badly on: August 13, 2018, 11:00:57 AM
Yes, the market is bleeding, and my wallet is bleeding, but I don't have any way. I am now considering whether to sell the rewards and wait for the market to turn around!

I am considering selling too but then I think it is too late now because the price is so down compared to how it is few months ago. It is a good buy now but make sure that the coin or token has good fundamentals because many of the coins that are down nowadays would be having a hard time especially those that are not backed by anything like no products or no finish projects yet and then the investors would become impatient waiting for the team and maybe would decide to sell their holdings then.

I think you have to differentiate if you want to grap a short-term profit or if you are interested in a longer lasting investment. It is quite normal that there is a certain volatility in a young market. But in the long run there is so much investment money to flow into the market, so just keep calm and don`t become nervous. Buy a variety of different coins and you will automatically get some of the right ones...

Yes, getting the right coins is the key to be profitable in the future but the question still remains as to what are the right coins to buy. I would suggest to buy those coins that already has a history of going back up after a bear market because it would mean there is a demand and you are confident that no matter how much it dumps, there are always buyers waiting out there.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW TO MAKE ICO's PROFITABLE AGAIN on: August 13, 2018, 10:46:10 AM
I think this is the problem with the crypto community. Everyone focusing on "profitability" rather than actual project development. People just invest thinking it's a get rich quick scheme but never actually looking at the underlying technology and how it can be incorporated into real world use cases.

Well, people just want to have a way to get some cash in a short amount of time and ICOs are a good way because it is getting hyped. However, because of the scam ICOs, investors are slowly dwindling down in investing in it because many are losing money. The prices are slowly going down upon listing in exchanges and the small investors/retail investors are the ones who are suffering because they cannot sell their coins at a profit.

Locking up the private investors tokens is part of the solution, we must also be reminded of the bounty hunters, a crash in price might also result from them too, while the ultimate people we must take note are the team/developers. Some of them get greedy dump and move to the next project.
However if the project is a good one with use case, investors need not worry, patience is the key in Crypto,  the  token will surely bounce back it just a matter of time.

Bounty hunters may be one of the cause why the price goes down but still you cannot just single out that they are the cause because when the price dump in exchange, the dump is so big that it would just be impossible for the bounty hunters to do it alone.
132  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I continue hodl my Bitcoin? on: August 13, 2018, 01:29:58 AM
Every investor always hopes that his investment can generate a profit in the future. Even though they are as insecure as any, because of the price situation that continues to decline, they are patient in dealing with it. So, selling BTC where the market situation is plummeting is foolish, and of course you will experience a loss, then for what you buy BTC if finally it ends in this way.

OP was able to sell half of his holdings last December and I would assume he is already in profit even though there is still remaining half that he is hodling that may seem like pure profit. OP is lucky because he was able to sell at the right time and should be patient enough because market has cycles and even if we are in a bear market, time would come when the market would turn around again and that's the time to claim profits.

Right, keep holding than selling all with down trend will gives more loses. When in rise sell some of your coin then hold the rest. So depends on how a person attack or handle his investment in the market.

If one is selling while in downtrend, it is just alright for me when there is a little percentage of loss but if one is selling when he already lost half or more than half of its value then that is just giving up because of hopelessness. This bear market has teach a lot of people to always secure profits or cut loss because too many coins have lost more than half of its value and some even 99% of it.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High risk results to high rewards on: August 13, 2018, 01:20:48 AM
https://www.livebitcoinnews.com/4-in-10-americans-will-never-invest-in-bitcoin-says-latest-crypto-study/

I've known some few friends who are into forex and stock investments. When they've learned that I engage myself into crypto trading and investments they discouraged me due to bitcoin's price volatility and unpredictable fluctuations. All I can say to them is that I only invest an amount that I can surely afford to lose and taking huge risks will definitely compensate you good returns as well. I bumped into this article saying that 4 in 10 Americans will never invest in bitcoin, which is somewhat realistic but still history can really tell that bitcoin has changed lots of millennials who took the risk and profited when bitcoin value skyrocketed to almost $20k last year.

Well, we cannot do something about the opinion of your friends and they can only say that because they are not investing or trading in it. They may be right about being cryptocurrency market being too risk but then if you know what you are doing then there is a possibility of reaping high rewards as well. If ever the price of bitcoin goes up, they would approach you again and ask you how they can invest on it.

So with this article it shows that there is still high percentage of Americans that is willing to take risks to invest in bitcoin just to make some good profit in the near future. What are your thoughts regarding this one? Share me your thoughts.

Millennials are more exposed to online gigs and income opportunities that's why they are more willing to take the risk. Just remember that the richest people in this world nowadays and those who are young are those who are involved in online stuff that those who were born ahead of the millennials may know nothing about because their experience is that you have to work hard physically to get rich.
134  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you think about the decentralized exchanges? Any good or bad experience? on: August 12, 2018, 11:00:58 AM
https://www.cryptocompare.com/exchanges/guides/what-is-a-decentralized-exchange/

What do you think about the decentralized exchanges? Any good or bad experience to share? Are they going to replace the centralized exchange in the future?

So far, I have good experience with IDEX because I was able to do my transactions properly and in a fast way as well. They have a warning beforehand when you execute a transaction preventing you from wasting an ETH for gas when you are not successful with it unlike in etherdelta/forkdelta wherein the orderbook is not updated so there is a time when the transaction did not push through but still they deducted a fee in my account. They wouldn't have a warning as well when you transact causing some newbies to lose great amount of money when they input a buy or sell transaction.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling- Believe in Strategy or Luck on: August 12, 2018, 10:55:45 AM
I agree that dice roll, slot, and poker games need the luck to win the game but maybe in the other gambling game, not just needed luck to win but it will need a strategy because I see that some people use the strategy to win the game and with a combination of luck and strategy, I think they can win much money. but I believe that we must have a luck so we can be winning the game and we can get that winning money.

For those random games in which you cannot have a strategy on since any result may appear then luck would be the main factor in it since you just cannot count anything unlike in card games. When you play dice, the result maybe anything and even if you may use a martingale strategy in it, there is still a chance of losing big in that kind of game.

Of course in other games wherein you can have an edge like research in sports games and knowing the strong teams then it would not just be a wild guess because you have a basis why you choose that particular team. In this case, a good strategy is an advantage and you can even find maybe an arbitrage so that you know that whatever the result is, you are having profits.
136  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Will the Bear Market End? on: August 12, 2018, 10:48:54 AM
I believe a lot of crypto-currencies investors who are investing for the long term are also hoping that the current bear market will end soon, but it seems that the trading market outlook is not very positive at the moment as there is not enough positive news to attract new investors from the traditional investment to switch their investment into crypto-currencies.

Investors sure are hoping that the price would go up soon. Maybe before, they are happy that the price is down because they would be able to accumulate more but now, it seems that investors are already out of funds to buy more and hoping for an upside. If you want to take advantage of what is happening now then better learn trading and accumulate small profit.

I'm not sure there's going to be a mini-bull market in 2018, the market has been down for almost four months, and a rally should be possible.

Well, bitcoin always surprise us so maybe it would make a comeback and show every body that he is still the king of cryptocurrency. Although the cause of the plunge is because of the delay of ETF, still it is a delay and there is a chance that it would be approve in which case it would make the price go up then.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Like Facebook, will Twitter welcome blockchain?? on: August 11, 2018, 10:23:54 AM
They all will welcome it because they see future on it and dont want to be left out in joining the revolution now ,both google apple etc will all join soon.

They may adopt blockchain technology as it is the in technology nowadays and it would save them a lot of money as well if they would use this kind of technology but then the question would still be if they would have a cryptocurrency for it. They may adopt the backbone of cryptocurrency which is blockchain technology but they have the option not to make a cryptocurrency along with it. There are already many companies who are studying blockchain technology but do not consider making a cryptocurency.

It's allegedly making noise that Facebook will develop its own crypto currency, then the next news seems reversed after banning all ICO related advertisements. Finally, reversed again which bring good news that they assigned a developer to handle about blockchain that might integrate to Facebook.

I saw a post of Mark Zuckerberg about blockchain technology but he didn't mention about a cryptocurrency. They many consider adopting the technology but not the cryptocurrency although it would be a big help for them if they would actually launch an ICO because they may able to collect billions from investors like what happen with telegram.

138  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-10] Half of the US adults have little to no understanding of crypto on: August 11, 2018, 01:22:10 AM
Nearly half of the US adults have little to no understanding of cryptocurrencies, and only 5% of those who plan investment would bet on digital coins, a survey published on Thursday showed. Ordered by Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA), the report revealed that most people see volatility markets as an opportunity for easy revenues.

Now, let's look at the positive way, if nearly half have little to no understanding of cryptocurrencies then it would mean that more than half of US adults do understand it which is good right? Compared to people who knew cryptocurrency back then, it's a big progress and even though only 5% of them would consider investing on it, at least there is 5% and I am pretty sure that when the price goes up, others including those who have little to no understanding about crypto would ask someone who knows something about it.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: positive impact on bounty campaign on: August 10, 2018, 01:22:47 AM
Positive impact makes bounty hunters to have more choice. But it's not always as good as others think, having bunch of these new bounties makes someone think that its easier to launch a bounty and without thinking of the budget he can easily pay with his created tokens.
Today a lot of scams exists too so don't just join new bounties, DYOR if they are legit and don't support a scam.

With a lot of choices for bounty hunters comes with a lot of research too if it is worth it to join or not. You should do your due diligence when joining a campaign because even if you are thinking that it is just time anyway that you are wasting if you will not be able to receive the coins but think that time cannot be turn back and if it is money then you can still have ways to get it back. I advice to take a look at the one managing the bounty because the more trusted the manager is, the possibility that it is not a scam that he is managing.

This shows that the virtual currency market is developing. There are a lot of companies sprouting up to develop their blockchain projects.

Yes, blockchain technology has a large scope that's why there are many bounties that are appearing every day. Maybe out of the 10 projects that are being launch every day, only one would be able to get through it and be able to fully launch so choose the projects well. It is good for the cryptocurrency community that more projects are being launch because it means that the market is growing.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is your opinion about cryptocurrency market now? on: August 10, 2018, 12:55:43 AM
Dear everybody,
In this year, I seen that the cryptocurrency market is very bad. Downtrend is the main status. Although I always believe it will recover at the end of year but I feel worry when see the diagram of the market. What is your opinion about cryptocurrency market now? And it will recover next time?
Please share!
Thank you!

Too many people have been rekt for this year holding strong to their coins believing that it will moon soon. There's nothing wrong with that but I hope it should be a lesson that you should have risk management always so that you can reduce your losses as early as possible so that later on when the market continues to dump, you have prevented further losses and buy back again when you think the market is already done with the dump.

Everyone was waiting for a bitocoin-ETF, and the decision was suddenly postponed from August 10 to September 30. Because of this, the rate spilled by 14%. The news is essentially neutral. And then how the market reacted to it, shows how many inexperienced investors it has, how many newcomers who beat bitcoin just because they see long red candles.

Well, that's how it is. Many people panic seeing those red candles. Maybe it's just the whales who are shorting the market knowing that some would consider selling it. They are way knowledgeable than the newbies anyway so more or less, they already know what the market sentiment of the people are so that they can act upon it.
