321  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason of increasing bitcoin price on: May 07, 2017, 04:53:04 PM
Who are know the actual reason of bitcoin price? How can i predict about bitcoin pricing high or low?

Bitcoin's price is actually based on the current demand for bitcoin as well as the current supply of bitcoin. The demand and supply are cross-referenced and with some computation, we will know the price of bitcoin. As based from the law of supply and demand, we will see an increase in bitcoin's price if the demand rose up but the supply, in circulation, is not enough to accommodate every demand. With this, we can say that bitcoin's price is unpredictable. We cannot say when it will increase and when it will decrease.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use Social Media for Bitcoin on: May 06, 2017, 05:42:12 PM
Social media is indeee a great medium in order to propagate information just like about bitcoin. This way, we will arouse people's awarenes about bitcon and build their interest about it. However, this might also bring bad effect. First is you are uncovering your mask ang reveal that you are a bitcoin user. Second, if ever bitcoin is banned suddenly in your country, you may be included in their watchlist for bitcoin users (probably far from reality but it is a possibility). Last is you made yourself prone from hackers. Hackers might gain interest in you and hack your accounts (facebook, instagram, e-mail, etc) hoping that they may access your wallet using your account/s.
323  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin improve the economy of a country? on: May 05, 2017, 07:33:53 PM

Today many countries accept bitcoin as a virtual currency, is it because bitcoin is so high that they think bitcoin can change the country's economy, or because the country has many bitcoin users already?

That would be the very probable reason why some countries are accepting bitcoin now as a mode of payment. Can you imagine how much can a country earn from accepting bitcoin? By accepting bitcoin from other country is a big help for the economy of the receiving country. It is just like a citizen of country A works on country B then send the earned money to country A. That will surely reflect to the economy of a country and that analogy is somewhat similar in terms of accepting bitcoin.
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a source of income? on: May 05, 2017, 06:44:25 PM
Quote

This is my way too, I tried to give my best in my job and to grow on my field and profession ,and after work I focus on bitcoin, and when there's some time left. I don't think there's a need to make stop our job ,we just need to do extra effort and time management.

Bitcoin can be a source of income, just by using free time, that's enough. Without the need to sacrifice work, we can still generate revenue from bitcoin.

If you are a beginner in this industry, you must do bitcoin as your part time income/job. Because you will just feel the real profit here if your ranking Full member and up, but member and below rank it is only a low wages that you can get for awhile. But still at least you earn weekly in the signature campaign.

There are different ways in earning bitcoin as for your information. You are limiting yourself to signature campaign where the bitcoin you earned there is inadequate for your daily expenses especially is someone depends on you. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1777912.msg17735848#msg17735848 a list of all possible ways in earning bitcoin is listed there.

As for my opinion on the subject matter, focusing on bitcoin as the major source of income is not too good. It is still safe to have a regular job and treat bitcoin earning as a source of extra income. As we all know that bitcoin is very unstable and unpredictable. Relying only on bitcoin is not a very wise thing to do.
325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Had a Dream Aliens Brought Us Bitcoin to Save Our Monetary System on: May 05, 2017, 06:33:00 PM
So are you saying that Satoshi Nakamoto is an alien? Since he is the one who invented Bitcoin in the first place. Oh wait, maybe the aliens gave Satoshi the source code of bitcoin technology and said to Satoshi that he invented it, not them and nothing more. Wow, the ET knows C Language!

Sorry but it sounds lunacy to me.

There is no monetary policy for BTC since no one can touch it.
326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: May 05, 2017, 06:22:02 PM
Using the television broadcasting is a wise choice in order to increase public awareness about bitcoin. Many people can watch TV even they cannot afford to buy one. However, if this is to be done, who will fund the TV ads? ROI would seem blurry. Maybe shops may advertise their shop and state that they accepts BTC as a mode of payment but some folks will not care about the BTC portion since they do not know what it is.

This will become a reality of someone volunteered to do the advertising without expecting any return directly. On the contrary, this may also have a return for that someone who volunteered and that is seeing his current BTC in possession rose up in value.
327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes the bitcoin price stronger in the market? on: May 05, 2017, 04:22:55 PM
I would say that the main asset of bitcoin is its ROBUSTNESS. Robustness in terms of physical security in a way that it can withstand different attacks (hacks) and keep standing all throughout these past years. Another is robustness in terms of withstanding competitive attacks and issues in a way that bitcoin endured all threats around it. It maybe in the form of competitors (alts), internal disputes, government, and other obstacles in front of bitcoin. By these reasons, many people support bitcoin even more and that makes bitcoin strong in the market.
328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why only now many countries recognize bitcoin as a virtual currency? on: May 04, 2017, 07:51:54 PM

Because its price is now sky high then many countries use bitcoin as virtual currency

What you think with phenomenal like this

The price might have contributed about the widespread of bitcoin but it is not the main reason. It is unsurprising that after all these years, only now many countries recognize bitcoin. If we will look at bitcoin's age, it is still young and is just beginning to impress different countries. Bitcoin's potential is the main reason, for me, why bitcoin suddenly boomed around the globe. Let's add the fact that some countries accepted bitcoin as a mode of payment and the best example is Japan. Japan is known for its advancement in terms of technology so announcing that they will accept bitcoin became the lever for other countries to do the same thing.
329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PSA: **WARNING** ACTIVE PHISHING CAMPAIGN AGAINST BitcoinTalk and BTC-e USERS on: May 04, 2017, 07:43:13 PM
Please stop calling it phishing. That word doesn't mean anything related to IT, email, or hackers. The first rule about naming new "things" is to give it a name that relates to that "thing's" definition. Phishing isn't it. We need to stop using that word.

What are the spoofed emails asking for? How would we know if the email we received was part of this email hack?

Thanks for the PSA!

Why should we stop using the term "phishing"? It is a jargon or technical term in the field of computing (computer) so there is nothing wrong about using it. As defined on wikipedia, phishing is a term that pertains to maliciously attempting to get your private information such as username, password, etc. by disguising themselves as a trustworthy entity.

I do not know what is your deal with "phishing" at all. We should stop using that term if it is inappropriate but since it's the right term for the issue and it is the issue, then use it. You can always use other terms but all have their freedom to use any term they want so why force us to stop using that term.
330  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy, hold or sell? on: May 04, 2017, 07:20:52 PM
What is going on with the price?!

It seems to explode.

It would seem that bitcoin's destination is at the top. Every single day we can see an increase on bitcoin's price. This just indicates that the demand for bitcoin is constantly increasing over time and, maybe, the number of bitcoin user is constantly increasing as well.

What do you do?

Well from time to time I look at my btc wallet and surprise myself in seeing bitcoin price increase. I could watch it all day  Grin

Buy more in case the price continues to rise?

Hold and wait for higher prices?

That is for persons that can afford to buy bitcoin. As we can see, bitcoin value is too high and I cannot even afford half of it. So as for now, I am trying to earn some and of course hold them and wait for it's value to increase more just like most of us are expecting.

Sell and take profits?

I would say that that is the main idea right? To earn/buy bitcoin and if it increases in price, sell it and take profit.
331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as the currency of the future? on: May 03, 2017, 09:03:16 AM
I see that the more bitcoin the more users seen from the significantly increased bitcoin price increase, is this a sign that bitcoin will soon become the future virtual currency?

Many already speculated that bitcoin will be the future currency of the world these past years. Their very reasons is stressed on the continuous increase of bitcoin's value as well as the number of users. However, at this point, there are too few people who uses bitcoin and in order to make bitcoin as a worldwide currency, the majority of people must use bitcoin. Who knows when will that happen. The biggest hindrance of this to happen is the government.

333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we expect "average Joe" to remember passphrases to his Bitcoins? on: May 01, 2017, 08:02:13 PM
Is this a very big issue at all? It is not even our problem, it's the wallet owner's problem. Why the hell did he/she uses a password that is too difficult that even he cannot even remember it? Sounds stupidity to me.

Simple solution:
- do not encrypt wallet.
- write down your password on a piece of paper and hide it somewhere safe. (uh another problem, he cannot remember where did he kept the paper)
- have password hints
- use all the letters in the alphabet as password or use your name in reverse as a password.

There are many ways, just do what is comfortable for you. Do not let foolishness makes you lose bitcoin.
334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if someday the network internet totally dead . on: May 01, 2017, 07:39:34 PM
First of all bitcoin will not going to be the main payment instrument in the world..you know why? Because its not totally supported by every government around the world at the moment..

Yes, at the moment. But what if every government around the world supported bitcoin in the future? Will bitcoin become the main payment instrument around the globe?

and secondly it is not yet accepted worldwide

As to what you've said, it is NOT YET accepted worldwide, so what if bitcoin will be accepted by every one in the future?

Conclusive statements is just your opinion, no basis at all. This type of claims are so biased that will poison young minds (in the world of bitcoin) and would even believe in such baseless statements. Not knowing that the future is very unpredictable. We are talking about a big IFs here, let us have an open conversation and not a closed and one sided one.
That is why theres "If" on his statements which means hes just assuming not concluding and besides i do have the same thoughts of him.Once government would reject or prohibit bitcoin to be accepted the tendency or chances to be neglected is very high which we can really assume or say that it wont be a mainstream on upcoming future and might they will create their own government-based e-currency that would act similar to bitcoin and thats the thing might be possible to happen.

Can you tell me where is the "If" you are pertaining to in his statement? Without editing his statement.

First of all bitcoin will not going to be the main payment instrument in the world..you know why? Because its not totally supported by every government around the world at the moment..and secondly it is not yet accepted worldwide and last internet will.not be paralyzed by a simple problems only coz its everywhere and no one controls it, only war can stop it I think..

It is clear that his claim is conclusive and not assuming something at all. I am just stressing out that conclusive statements may redirect minds into believing claims that does not have basis at all and does not consider the unpredictability of the future. Though every claims might be possible but still, they are all just possibility.
335  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Para saan nga ba ang bitcoins kung may pesos naman?? on: May 01, 2017, 06:55:28 PM
Hmm.. In my opinion.. Pesos.. Tingin ko.. Mas madali ang pag gamit ng pesos instead of bitcoin.. In terms of pagkain damit saka ibapang mga bilihin.. Pero bitcoins..?? Para sa inyo.. Ano ba ang importante sa bitcoins?? Thank you.. Smiley

336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin can ruin a Country? on: May 01, 2017, 06:19:14 PM
Well, i just thought, if bitcoin become a currency of one Country, maybe it can destroy that country? Think of it, Bitcoins do not have a tax, and tax are used by the government to make that country a good one, without tax, what will be used to spend and make that country a good one?

What do you think?

If ever that one country used bitcoin as its main currency, don't you think that they will impose taxes on every transaction and every earning of bitcoin? Of course they will! The government is not dumb enough to lead their country into its knees. And if the government ever see any chances of threat to its economy, they will immediately take actions. Maybe by banning bitcoin or whatever. The government will always find ways in order to prevent this from happening.
337  Economy / Speculation / Re: what is happening. on: May 01, 2017, 05:45:41 PM
Simple answer,
Bitcoin prices are based on its demand. As compared to its present reach, demand will continue to rise for next 5-10 years for sure. Higher demand means you will continue to see such rise in future too.
While for more details,
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/bitcoin-price-analysis-keeping-grounded-price-skyrockets/
I like your answer but in reality there should be fundamental reasoning why asset increased. Limit it to the force of demands and supplies is like clashing the surface of wound and think it has been heal! In assets trading there are fundamentally issues why people are buying and why people are selling.

I believe that you are asking what is in bitcoin that makes it's price to soar up, right? As to what bitcoin has, it is only its potential. Day by day, many people are starting to engage with bitcoin and in return, the demand of bitcoin in the market increases. If you compare the demand of bitcoin to the supply available in the market, you will see that there is a very big difference. Thus making bitcoin's value to increase. And as bitcoin's value increases, more and more people will start gaining bitcoin, and then the demand rises again and the value of bitcoin rises again and a repeat in the cycle happens. The demand and supply merely control's bitcoin's value, that's how it works.

339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think are the biggest disadvantages of Bitcoin? on: May 01, 2017, 05:09:37 PM
The only disadvantage of bitcoin at a moment is that it is not accepted at offline places like restaurants or malls where we can spend them to buy food or clothes and apart from that I don't see any disadvantages attached with bitcoins.

I would not consider that as a disadvantage of bitcoin, that is a disadvantage for the owner of such businesses. It is the decision of the owner of the business whether to accept bitcoin or not. Another thing, why offline? Isn't bitcoin transactions are made online? I haven't seen nor heard about having bitcoin transaction offline.
It is still a disadvantage especially for the bitcoin users . Money is meant to spend and bitcoin is money . What's the point of it if you can't spend it as much as you want . You see people have a limitation since most of the companies especially the big ones doesn't accept it . Yes you can convert it to your local currency but there will be an extra charge of fees . You can also use third parties i.e. bitcoin debit cards but there will also be an extra charge . The best choice will always be to use it directly . So why would this be a disadvantage for the owners of the said businesses? When even if they only accepts fiat not bitcoin but everyone has fiat so payment methods will not really affect them but their service and product will .

Then it is still not a disadvantage of bitcoin. Would you even complain if you go to another country and pay products there using your local currency instead of theirs and they did not accept your payment? Of course not. Even if you say that money is meant to be spent as much as you want and saying that bitcoin is money. Your local currency is money and their local currency is also money. You must adjust to what type of payment the merchant wants and will not say that "this is also money." Do you get my point here?.

I claimed that that was a disadvantage of the owner of the business because they do not accept bitcoin as payment or do not even know what bitcoin is. If they accepts bitcoin as payment then the bitcoin they received may increase in value over time so this is what I meant about that disadvantage.

Bitcoin and local currency are two different things and you can't use the first one as an observation to conclude the other one. Your local currency might not be accepted in other countries but your own country will be always accepting it. Bitcoin, on the other hand, don't have a nation that will always accept it. No country use bitcoin as a payment method and the only way for you to ever use it directly for payment is to find the right store/shop.

We are talking about the nonacceptance of bitcoin on some businesses/stores and I claimed that this is not a disadvantage of bitcoin at all. Well I agree that bitcoin and local currency are different things, however, they are both accepted in a transaction or as a mode of payment so it is legit to base my thoughts on local currency because they (btc & local currency) have the same principle, they have the same concept. So what if other merchants do not accept bitcoin at all, can you consider this as a disadvantage of bitcoin? Hell no. It is in the matter of choice and if they do not take bitcoin then that's it. Do not blame bitcoin for that. Find another store that accepts bitcoin, as easy as that.
