Thanks @Noelnada My chart does shows that DeepOnion can get back to over 100,000 sats pretty soon  Cool DeepOnion should be more than Monero and many other privacy cryptos and why no one should sell DeepOnion The Anonymous Cryptocurrency DeepOnion should be $100's if not $1000's and will be soon imho I'm not nuts im onion's ... my old line...  Grin

Great specs poster that is on twitter uploaded by https://twitter.com/Osaidbk on this tweet https://twitter.com/Osaidbk/status/970739337892593664

Great comparison. I can really see DeepOnion reaching levels of Monero.

Interesting how everyone suggesting the airdrops  should be limited to senior member and above are senior members themselves. Given how most senior members sold their portion of the last airdrops in the OTC thread, I'll suggest the admin should scrap the whole free airdrop system and stick with distributing through donations

Like I said, the system that prevents the most sock puppets is the one based on the percentage of coins an individual has. Other than that which system do you think will eliminate the most sock puppets? There's no perfect system, but Sr. Member and up dramatically reduces fraud compared to open to anyone.

I know that there is around a lot of people with situations like this one... you know how it will end.

I love this. I love the idea of someone wanting you back because of success. That's why I wouldn't tell any girls about Onions, because if they break up with me and Onion explodes...
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sirius A New Smart Chain Freely Distributed on: March 05, 2018, 03:22:51 PM

That's a funny idea. "Hiring" people to check airdrop applicants.  Cheesy
The best way imo is to connect multiple accounts so that you can't apply with your 389 BCT alt accounts. Telegram needs a phone number, for example. Most people have only one number and one Telegram account so that would reduce the abuse.

a telephone package cost $2-3
the only way to prevent abuse is the rank
or maybe they should require a retinal scan  Grin
Yeah anyone can buy a burner phone for a few dollars so that isn't much of a deterent.  High rank is likely the best way because even if you created a million alt accounts, you didn't make enough posts on all of them to get to the high ranks.  That would be an insane amount of work for a person.

No system is perfect. Restricting the air drop to high rank members is as good as any other system.

The old DeepOnion system of checking the quality of every post of every participant going back to the beginning of their account was good, but required a lot of man power, and will only really catch the obvious sock puppet accounts. The Telegram idea is flawed, because it's easy to get a throwaway number.

No system is perfect, but the Sr. Member and up seems like the best so far because it would just be too difficult to rank up multiple accounts. Sounds like torture.

So far the best system that I've seen to eliminate sock puppets is the current Deep Onion system in which the air drop amount is based on the percentage of the coin one has, thus having multiple accounts just means extra work for actually less coins (too long to explain why it's less). But at this point such a system would benefit the Github sock puppets, unless they already sold their Sirius coins.

So I guess higher rank accounts is still the best option for Sirius. The higher the rank the better. Hero Member and up would probably almost eliminate sock puppets, but that's easy for me to say since I'm a Hero Member.

Dont know if this issue was mentionned here before but what do you deep onion people think of the fact Tor might be compromised.
Came across severa articles mentionning this over the last few years, last one just yesterday:

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-03-02/tor-project-almost-100-funded-us-government-report

If true than the whole Deeponion project might be useless...

Not trying to spread fud but this is the only reason why I did not invest in this coin yet.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Interesting. Is Tor not open source? Governments do use Tor for many reasons, to hide their own identity. It could just be that they give money to the Tor project because they can. Other than that I haven't seen any evidence of a backdoor. And the more people using Tor, for example running a DeepOnion wallet, the much harder it makes it to track anyone.

Yes TOR is opensource and upgraded regularly, now if the US secret services want to know how to best counter privacy technologies, it's a legitimate effort from their part. It does not mean that DeepOnion with all the different privacy layers will not be really hard if not impossible to trace and they will have to find other ways than through the DeepOnion network.

As far as I know there's no backdoor in TOR, and if there is than the US government is going out of their way in showing that they're having difficulty tracking people down. I think the efforts are better spend in peripheral ways of tracking people than through the Tor network. Such as even mouse finger printing, or flaw in a java code or something like that.

This is how i see the future dumpers of Deeponion.
Now they sell for a small profit but in the future it could be much much more than that.
They will regret their decision.

Verified with Deepvault:

I sometimes think of the people who might have passed on this airdrop because of the mod that gave it a negative trust rating. That rating could have caused some people dearly in their life. I'm glad I stuck around, did my own research and saw that Deep Onion was a rare opportunity.

Just want to confirm what others mentioned before - Cryptopia still heavily lagging in withdrawal department despite their system upgrade.
If you want to buy ONION and have clean and stress-free withdrawal - do it on Kucoin guys.

defintely! my withdrawal stuck since 17 days.... 3 airdrops skipped with that onions. craptopia -,-

That's horrible. How much is stuck in Cryptopia? I would be beyond pissed off.

You had two post on Bitcointalk last week, and both seem to be under 50 characters.

Another round of airdrop completed and I am happy with a fresh batch of onions. This is good and bad for me. It is great since my onion balance increases which is obviously awesome and bad because the airdrop is going to end soon which is something I have gotten used to from the last couple of months and I will badly miss it. I feel lucky and happy being a part of this awesome project and have become a fan of DeepOnion and what it is trying to achieve in the crypto world. DeepOnion will surpass Monero, Dash etc and become the de-facto anonymous crypto king soon! Cool

I'm excited for the time after the 40th airdrop and continued development of DO. But 40 years from now I know I'm going to look back and really miss this really unique point in history. And then my end will be coming soon, that sucks.

Darn, I wish I would have found Deep Onion 33 airdrops ago  Undecided

Anyway, hello everyone. I am new to Bitcointalk but not crypto in general.  However, I'm a long time lurker on these crypto boards so I just wanted to say hello to the community.

After doing my research on this coin, the thing that I love the most is the fact that it's such a small cap coin. With only has a max supply of 25mil and such an outstanding community and support, this coin could/should be sky high.  Obviously support from a larger exchange than Kucoin or Cryptopia (nothing against either of them, I use them both occasionally) would do wonders and provide real legitimacy.

However, I do have one concern that perhaps those who've been following this coin for a while can answer for me:  When the airdrops end, what's to keep everyone from dumping and moving on?  Is Deep Onion going to find another way to reward it's hodlers?

Two things pop into mind. Unlike most other airdrop where one fills out a form or something of that matter, get the coin and quickly dump it, the length of this air drop, and the community that's being built in the forum makes it more of a family. I can't describe how big that is. A bond is built for lack of a better word. Reminds me of NEM.

The other the success of this coin has allowed to pick up development and they are adding a lot of new features, to make the coin more secure and private.

I'll go for one more. It's a privacy coin (with a large community) and I have a feeling that privacy coins are going to be huge in the years to come.

Great to see that Binance lists some information about DeepOnion. I believe finally DeepOnion will be listed on Binance. For now, even just listing some information is already very good. This means Binance is paying attention to us. Considering the number of users of Binance, DeepOnion will attract a lot of attention from the users. Let's just hold our precious onions and wait it moon!!

Did they really list information about Deep Onion? Where did you see that information? I want to read it.

https://info.binance.com/en/currencies/deeponion

They listed an info page on deeponion. That means it will probably be in the next round of voting. Deeponion won the bitindia vote by a pretty respectable margin, if it comes up in Binance Polls it will likely win.

That's exciting, a Binance poll. DeepOnion with this large community definitely has a good chance of winning. I have an account there, hopefully other also have one.

Edit: I just read that it's user generated information.

Price of DCT in March Huh? I think DCT want loooooooong time for back 3 $........

Depends. I'd like to see how Alax.io does, and if it will affect Decent visibility and price.

There is no need for an airdrop. 99% really just dump their coins without caring about the project
+1. Referral programs and airdrops are the cause Twitter and chats - Telegram, Slack, Discord, are full of uninspired, dumb, useless spam.
I specifically blame !*/+/*! ICOs pardon me, scam tokens and exchanges like Binance and Kucoin for all the meaningless content created by greedy and lowly-endowed individuals that hop on bounties and free coins.

I still think that restricting to legendary or hero+legendary would be better. There will sure be many people only hunting rewards and airdrops like they usually do and don't even care about the tech.
I doubt experienced and conscious community members would care about some free 5-10$, at the expense of weakening own privacy.

Some would care, but the point from my logic is that it will bring more eyes, from Newbie to Legendary to take a closer look at the technology. 20 DCT could be $60. It's something. Plus this is still a very promising coin, could be $600.

We are launching a new Contest Series for our dedicated Telegram Community! We have allocated 10,000 DCT to give away as prizes during this Contest Series. We are very excited to give back a little appreciation for you all. For more details, please join Telegram Community!

I'm new to Telegram, not too familiar with it, but I joined. Maybe an air drop would be a good idea. Or maybe not, since there's so many people looking for air drops just to dump.

One can be smart about it. For example the Sirius air drop requires one to be Sr. Member and above. That generated excitement because is selective, and greatly reduced the chance for sock puppets. I imagine that crypto veterans are less likely to dump. At this point I rather it be for Hero members though, since someone who started less than a year ago can be a Sr. Member by now, and that sounds a little noobish to me.

Maybe a month long air drop, giving out 20 DCTs to Sr. Members and above can generate a similar type of buzz. It would at the very least get extra people to read up on the technology even if they do not join the air drop, or qualify.

It would also need a new Ann thread, because if one just leaves a comment that if you join telegram you'll get DCTs, only people who use Decent will see it.

Now with an Ann thread everyone will see the purpose and click on the link to find out more.

I like the idea of an airdrop for hero members and above because it will generate more awareness among selected individuals in the crypto community. They would be able to understand DCore better. But please, update the website first! We don't want to spend tokens uselessly.

The more I think about a Hero Member airdrop vs Sr Member could be amazing. It would be good advertisement with all members looking at it, less abuse, and Hero members will be more likely to hold.

Just discover this thread now and i love concept of project, i see a little similarity with the DeepOnion method of distribution without any crowdsale only airdrops, where able to develop and continue developing project,
Deep Onion is trash that forced people to hold their coins and spam the forum relentlessly as part of its distribution.  These 2 coins have nothing in common in that respect.

DeepOnion requires one post per week, so I don't see how that's spamming the board. And the airdrop amount is based on the amount a participant has in their wallet, but you can sell anytime. You can sell all yours coins to invest someplace else, and if you make a profit you can rejoin the air drop with no problems. By basing it on percentage it killed the advantage that people with sock puppets had. It's a very well run organized air drop.

With Sirius, they also greatly reduce the amount of sock puppets by limiting to Sr. Members and above. They also have an experienced dev with a long posting history on Bitcointalk, where one can better get a sense of him and better judge his character.

Both are also long air drops which builds a sort of bond/awareness for the participants. These are two of my top coins.

I like Monero, I want both coin to co exist. Here's a DeepOnion article, it explains some of the features it has. http://www.abnewswire.com/pressreleases/deeponion-announces-exciting-launch-of-an-anonymous-cryptocurrency-sent-through-the-tor-network_188825.html
