61  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin Trading Volume Sunk to 2-Yr Low in March as Price Cratered 75% on: April 05, 2019, 11:56:18 PM
Bitcoin trading volume tumbled to a two-year low in March 2019 as the industry was in the midst of a prolonged crypto bear market.

Cryptocurrency exchanges reacted by raising trading fees, according to TradeBlock, a provider of trading tools for digital currencies.

The fee hikes are not surprising because it’s a defensive maneuver to protect against dwindling revenues from falling trading volumes.

“In 2018 and early 2019, prices contracted and trading volumes declined significantly from their peak. On average, exchanges raised fees on both the maker and taker sides in 2018 and 2019.

“An increase in trading fees is in line with expectations that exchanges are looking to protect revenues, amidst continually dampened trading volumes.”

Bitcoin trading volumes plunged as the bitcoin price tanked during the Crypto Winter. (TradeBlock)

Trading Fees Rose as Trading Volume Fell

TradeBlock pointed out that crypto exchanges decreased fees in 2015 and 2016 when trading volumes rose. However, fees remained stable in 2017 as trading activity spiked to record highs during the bitcoin bull market.

“Exchanges lowered fees in 2015 and 2016 while volumes slowly began increasing.”

“In 2017, exchanges, on average, held fee schedules unchanged as trading activity rose to all time highs. However, as volumes have continued to decline, exchanges began raising fees in 2018 and 2019.”

Now that the bitcoin price is starting to rally, it remains to be seen whether exchanges will reduce fees again as competition for market share heats up.

62  Economy / Economics / Crypto Market ‘Bullish’ in Wake of Bitcoin’s 20% Surge on: April 05, 2019, 11:53:00 PM

Cryptocurrency prime dealer SFOX released its monthly volatility report this week, and while it is not all plain sailing for the crypto market the indicator clearly affirms that this week’s massive Bitcoin price rally was built on a firm foundation.

SFOX: Low Volatility and Rising Investment Bolster Crypto’s Bull Case

The crypto market remains “mildly bullish” heading into April. | Source: SFOX

According to SFOX, the crypto market remained “mildly bullish” heading into April. In March, the main fundamentals were low volatility and increasing investment. Similar to February’s report, SFOX was encouraged by the continuing investment in cryptocurrency infrastructure despite Bitcoin’s sideways trend.

“At the same time that crypto volatility was decreasing, reports told of major companies like Visa and Facebook investing in crypto technologies. This reinforces the narrative that the industry as a whole is continuing to mature, attracting the attention of more institutions as infrastructure improves.”

Maturity is a big deal for an asset class that wants to become a widespread medium of exchange. Of the two corporations mentioned, the involvement of Visa is possibly the most interesting. Naturally, they have the most to lose from not evolving to the threat from Bitcoin. If Visa sees applications for cryptocurrency, this is a tremendous affirmation of the “usefulness” case argument.

63  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-04-05] Bitcoin Price Careens Lower But Bullish Trend Survives on: April 05, 2019, 11:49:00 PM

The bitcoin price on Thursday depreciated as much as 10.33-percent against the US dollar.

The cryptocurrency reached an intraday low at $4,833 in an interim bearish correction. It was already trending inside an overbought zone when the downside action started. Traders found a decent opportunity to exit their long positions around bitcoin’s fresh yearly high at $5,342, prompting a sharp pullback towards $4,789, the higher-low from yesterday. The price didn’t extend the correction and started consolidating within a new trading range instead.

Coinbase data showed that bitcoin was more likely to extend its bearish correction to escape its overbought conditions. As of 20:21 UTC, the RSI was well above 70, signaling that buyers won’t be able to extend the bullish momentum any further. A red candle appeared thereafter, bringing RSI a little closer towards 70. A further selling action could, therefore, appear as the ongoing session matures.

64  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-04-05] Bitcoin is #1 Trending on China’s Biggest Search Engine During 2019 on: April 05, 2019, 11:46:04 PM

Bitcoin is now top of the list of trending keywords in the Baidu search engine, China’s equivalent to Google.

Due to the recent price surge, #bitcoin tops today's Baidu hottest emerging keywords. (Baidu is like China's Google)

Twitter: https://twitter.com/cnLedger/status/1113662067020427264

After plummeting from the all-time high in late December, Bitcoin reached a low of around $3,200 before surging in recent days above $5,000. The $5,000 line has proved itself to be a crucial battleground as a psychological market of support/resistance. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is testing resistance and trading at $4,997.95.

Understandably, the surge has led to a renewed interest in Bitcoin. The leading cryptocurrency is clearly a hot topic in the enormous Chinese market – Google also shows a major increase.

The following Google Trends search analysis shows a massive spike in Bitcoin searches in recent days. Bitcoin searches more than tripled from 31 to 100 since March 31.

65  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wow, the bears are back, if we're not careful they'll eat us too :) on: April 04, 2019, 09:00:55 PM
It was a ludicrous pump. It's totally natural that it's going to deflate as rapidly as it happened. Ideally it'll settle further up than where it started which is the best that can be hoped for. I wouldn't call it bearish, more realistic.
Do you see any chance for bitcoin settling somewhere around $4,500? It is going to a huge success if bitcoin settles at around $4.5k to $4.7k for bitcoiners. With that, I have no doubt the bitcoin price could reach $10,000 by the December, guaranteed Grin
66  Economy / Speculation / Re: *Q2-BTC-PRCE PREDICTION-GAME* Q2 LIST GAME on: April 04, 2019, 08:51:33 PM
God, I missed this Q2 BTC price prediction game but anyway here is my prediction $6,820.
By the way, why close so early? this should be live up the end of April at least.
67  Economy / Speculation / Wow, the bears are back, if we're not careful they'll eat us too :) on: April 04, 2019, 08:34:32 PM
Damn, the bears are back, guys!
I saw the market has started going down today as it erases almost $10 billion in the last 10 hours.
What do you guys think we should do? Cash out now to cut losses or we should stay on the market this is just a mere correction?

69  Economy / Economics / The bulls are back, bitcoin on the way to $5k on: April 02, 2019, 11:58:43 PM
The bulls are back. Who is watching the live action with me?
The cryptocurrency market added over $20 billion in market capitalization in the last 24 hours.
This is the biggest bull run we've seen since 2017. Do you think the market will hold or this is just another artificial pump?

70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My mission on IronX (IRX) on: April 02, 2019, 12:26:36 PM
Are you part of the team before dreaming big for IRONX might as well go here and answer this scam accusations
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5125879.0 I know it's not a scam site but the project is not living up to its promise it looks like a hype type of token to me.

I think OP has seen and has answered this scam accusations https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5125879.msg50405393#msg50405393

Yes, now what really happened  Roll Eyes

ironically, he is now promoting this project. totally opposite views but were posted the same day? can the OP clarify what's really going on? i'm confused why such contradictory point of views. but i don't know if this project really raised $26M, or just manipulation of numbers? when i first learned this project, it seemed so promising. now, i am seeing negative feedbacks and that's not a good sign for a starting exchange.
I want the IronX team to do something positive. Don't you see I'm doing their own work for them?  They actually looked little bit inexperienced about the crypto exchanges.

If you follow their telegram you can see I'm very active there giving them positive advice for the last two weeks about how make the IronX very successful.

But it seems the IronX team has their own plans. Therefore, they actually don't care about what people are saying that's why I posted that comment on the scam accusations thread for them to take action.

I myself was little bit confused at the beginning with the IronX team behaviors to be frank, but I finally looked at the company background and the IronX join ventures and I then realized this not likely to be a scam.

I think the IronX team needs some time to perfect their product that's all. I'm not trying to promote IronX because they didn't pay me to do so. I was only think of investing my money and I wanna know if it is a right idea.

Once I see both Bancore and IDEX accepted my submissions then that's a good sign.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / My mission on IronX (IRX) on: April 01, 2019, 05:19:03 PM
IRX is the utility token of the new cryptocurrency exchange called IronX. My next mission is to help create thry liquidity for IRX between the DEX platforms.

IronX has recently conducted an ICO which raised over $26 million in funding from the join ventures and investors as well.

IronX cryptocurrency exchange was created by IronFX (forex trading platform) and EmurgoHK (the blockchain technology provider) the major company behind Cardano ADA coin.

IronX cryptocurrency exchange was launched on March 28th, after the successful ICO. The exchange is fully working but the major problem with the platform is lack of liquidity.

The major platform where you can buy and sell IRX (maker and taker) is forkdelta. But today I submitted IRX to Bancore and IDEX in order to create more liquidity between the markets.

Listing IRX on three major DEXes such as: Forkdelta, Bancore, and IDEX would help a lot in creating awareness, building strong community and a huge liquidity.

Once all the submissions are successful, my next mission is to submit IRX to the CoinMarketCap and CoinCodex - once the trading level reached their respective trading volumes.

What are your thoughts on this matter? Do think this is a good idea?
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: VANTA a SCAM? Wasted 6 weeks working for Vanta without payment on: April 01, 2019, 09:56:37 AM
Vanta network is one of the few projects out there that has been able too trade above its ico price .. without ethereum and btc market.. so on my opinion instead of crying here on bitcointalk.. pick up a few for yourself while it's still around 1.2krw..
Look at this stupid meritless scavenger. you are not even worth to be called a hunter rather a scavenger. what a senseless pig!
Abusive words will not give you your bounty reward ... you can continue to cry over your 20 dollar bounty reward, hungry boy  Grin Roll Eyes
So, you bought 5 Merits from tk808 and now you have a mouth to talk right? Don't you know buying merits is against the rules of this great community? just wait and see what will follow next.

Note: I earned about 3.8 million VNT and even after when VANTA cuts our tokens 10/1 - I still got about 380,000 VNT which is worth around $500 at least you pussy! If VANTA did not cut my tokens from 3.8m to 380k I earned about $5000 then
Ohh pls shut up..  can you prove I bought merit?? Your post shows how immature you are, and i wonder if you have a life outside bitcointalk.. I checked your name on spreedsheet and you earned just about 130dollar worth of vanta.. again I'll remind you abusive words will not give back your earned token.. all you can do is wail , and of course you have all right too do so.. hungry boy, it's takes more than a vague accusation thread to bring down a already successful company like vanta.. try not to shot yourself with a m16 ruffle over a unpaid bounty reward.. lazy ass
Look at this senseless pig, I bet you failed in mathematics during your high school days - if you ever got enrolled into one. I'm not ordinary being like you, a fucking scavenger! In every campaign I participated I normally go for 80-100% of the campaigns. I'm not someone like you that only participates in only facebook or twitter. thus, I'm extraordinary to your ASS. A god-like to your ASS! So, whenever someone asks you about your GOD just call my name Grin

I got no time for you pig. I have a multi-million dollar SCAM Project to fight.
Thus, you are going to my ignore list you meritless pig, a fucking loser Tongue

They claimed to have raised $26m during the ICO yet zero trading liquidity on the IRX/USD trading pair.
Definitely a SCAM... Binance doesn't start like that. You must inject at least $1m for the exchange liquidity to start working.
Without injecting few millions in liquidity that means you don't trust your own project, then who do you expect to invest, huh? lol

Inject a million from the raised funds during the ICO or the IRONX would end up among the list of failed projects.
76  Other / Meta / Re: KYC now required on: April 01, 2019, 08:16:11 AM
To prevent scams, spam, alt accounts, and similar abuse, and to promote an environment of trust, all forum users must now submit know-your-customer (KYC) identity info to the forum here. As we all know, Bitcoin was built on the principle of "if you have nothing to hide, what's there to fear?", which is why the block chain is a public ledger. And Satoshi even famously said, "sacrificing a little liberty for increased security is the foundation of blockchain technology."

Additionally, you can get extra-verified by posting a selfie in this thread. (Upload the image to imgur or something first and then use the bbcode [img]DIRECT_LINK_TO_IMG[/img].) Make sure it's a very serious selfie. After posting a selfie, our advanced verifAI™ algorithm will choose whether to verify you or not, and will also assign you with an accurate verification assessment to be displayed next to your posts.

79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: VANTA a SCAM? Wasted 6 weeks working for Vanta without payment on: March 30, 2019, 11:44:37 PM
VANTA Team was trying to break our will in so many different levels in order to steal our hard-earned tokens e.g.

- Two weeks extension
- 10 days VNT trades on Allbit
- Cutting down our VNT tokens 10/1
- No KYC for bounty yet we must on AllBit
- After all that, no bounty payments for over 80% of the hunters

VANTA Network is definitely a SCAM beware all investors. It's a trick, don't buy VNT!
