803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a currency? on: January 11, 2018, 01:43:12 AM
I found a video on YouTube https://youtu.be/qTxPfxmkLIY that according to this man (Warren Buffett) said "Bitcoin doesn't meet the definition of a currency" and he said that "he would not be surprised if bitcoin is not around in 10 or 20 years".

Is he a hater of bitcoin? while other big names appreciate the bitcoin.

Your thoughts?
Well, Mr. Buffett is a very man and you know how hard it is for the old people to appreciate changes. Old people don't accept changes and new things no matter how good they are because they are outdated. I see no reason for people to be even talking about the opinion of an old guy.
804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shall we be afraid of bitcoin ? on: January 11, 2018, 01:37:28 AM
Do you think people understand that it is just money changing hands like if you were making and selling new paintings ?

I wrote an article about it here: https://medium.com/@netcashfx/bitcoins-wealth-is-not-a-threat-152b1a90489d
Yes, you are right because people should always invest that they can afford to lose. The cryptocurrency market is unpredictable, anything can happen in the market more especially if you are dealing with the smaller coins. In very business with the chance of exponential growth there must be a high risk involved. people should be careful that's all!
805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What don't you like about bitcoin on: January 11, 2018, 01:25:32 AM
All crypto currencies  have their pros and cons .  I do not like the fact that transactions are  can not be reversed. What don't you like about bitcoin ?

Well, I like bitcoin for a quite many things I think.

1. Bitcoin is a digital currency
2. Bitcoin instant transactions
3. Bitcoin is fully decentralized
4. Bitcoin is acceptable worldwide
5. Bitcoin offers more privacy and security

And finally but not least, the bitcoin exponential growth.
806  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What are the best bitcoin wallets? on: January 11, 2018, 01:18:19 AM
Looking for a secure place to store my bitcoins. What do you recommend? I found a few here, but looking for more feedback: http://cryptomarketmag.com/2018/01/07/best-bitcoin-wallets-2018/

Thanks!
Well, the best bitcoin wallets are offline wallets e.g. Legder wallet or Trezor wallet. With offline wallet you can store your bitcoin 100% secure.
For online wallets, you may try Xapo or Blockchain.info they are best in terms of security and where you can keep your bitcoins safe online.
807  Economy / Exchanges / Re: A working cryto debit card? on: January 11, 2018, 01:11:25 AM
Major bitcoin debit card providers such as CryptoPay, Wirex, TenX, and Bitwala have issued statements informing users that all VISA card operations have been cancelled effective immediately following urgent communication from card issuer WaveCrest. With zero notice, this leaves thousands of debit card users around the world trapped with no access to funds.

Well, there are so many sayings for this year 2018. Some people say, 2018 is the year of altcoins, and some people are also saying, 2018 is the year of ethereum. No doubt, ethereum started this year with many changes, even growing from $725 to $1,320 is a great achievement. But still have so many months to go in this year 2018.
809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I buy altcoins with BTC or ETH? on: January 11, 2018, 12:56:02 AM
I’m using Binance. Should I buy altcoins using BTC or ETH?? Does is make a difference??
No. you can buy altcoins with either bitcoin or ethereum there is no discount for any on the exchange. But sometimes it is better to exchange the coin that is falling with altcoins than changing with the one that his value is going up.

812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future is crypto currency on: January 11, 2018, 12:29:43 AM
Entire momentum of social media changed after rise up in virtual currency. people had started to trust on crypto currency.
The future for cryptocurrencies is looking brighter at the moment because it is the only niche in the world that people are talking about everywhere around the world. Some people were optimistic about investing in bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in the past but currently due the massive acceptance of cryptos by the people many people are feeling comfortable to invest in cryptos.
813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, is it really just a bubble? on: January 11, 2018, 12:24:21 AM
Nobody actually knows bitcoin's future. For now I would not say that bitcoin is going to pop in sooner time, cause of it is just in the beginning, people are investing huge money in it with expectation to get even huger money from that investment. All those people are called as whales and they actually control the price, so while there are those whales with their exceptions bitcoin will not explode.
Apart from that, people has been calling bitcoin a bubble for far too long since 2013 without burst. So, when will the bubble burst? That is the question what we should be asking these guys who are calling bitcoin a bubble. I don't know why some people don't have a sense of reasoning. Everyone who study bitcoin knows it is not a bubble, so why other people call it with different names perhaps, they would live to regret their actions someday. Smiley

Luno charges less than 2% fee of credit card transactions.

Bitmain Expands to Switzerland as China Cools to Bitcoin Miners

Bitmain, the China-based bitcoin mining giant, has set up a new subsidiary in Switzerland.

A report from Swiss-based news service Handelszeitung states that the company has based the subsidiary, Bitmain Switzerland, in Zug. The locale is the home of the "Crypto Valley," an area where a number of cryptocurrency and blockchain startups have headquartered thanks to a permissive regulatory environment.

The move - which comes amid reports that the Chinese government wants to slowly but surely quash the country's mining ecosystem – is said to be a notable one for the firm, according to statements. This, sources say, would be accomplished by curtailing access to supportive tax policies as well as the land and utilities needed to run a power-hungry bitcoin mine.

According to Handelszeitung, Bitmain is eyeing the Zug office as a way to grow its presence in Europe and, really, beyond its home base in China.

"Bitmain Switzerland will play a key role in our global expansion," Bitmain told the paper.

The company further said that it plans to expand its footprint in Switzerland over the coming months, hiring new employees and making a concerted effort to work with the government, including the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).

816  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-01-10] Venezuela Parliament Calls President’s $5.9 bln Petro Cryptocurrenc on: January 10, 2018, 11:09:21 PM
Venezuela Parliament Calls President’s $5.9 bln Petro Cryptocurrency ‘New Fraud’

Venezuela’s opposition-run parliament has denounced the emission of President Nicolas Maduro’s Petro cryptocurrency, calling it “totally null and void.”

The stricken country’s planned national digital currency Petro, so called because it would be notionally tied to its oil reserves, had a planned initial value of $5.9 bln, after Maduro announced 100 million units in a TV address last week:

“I have ordered the emission of 100 million petros with the legal sustenance of Venezuela’s certified and legalized oil wealth.”

According to Reuters, the value of Venezuela’s oil and fuel export basket, to which Petro was to be pegged, closed last week at just over $59.

Countering the plans in parliament however, deputy Jorge Millan ridiculed Petro as a “new act of fraud.” He told politicians during a debate,

“We find ourselves before a new kind of fraud, disguised as a solution the (financial) crisis.

This incompetent government wants to compensate for lack of oil production with these virtual barrels.”

Reuters also quoted Millan as saying:

“This is not a cryptocurrency, this is a forward sale of Venezuelan oil. It is tailor-made for corruption.”

Outside commentators have placed doubt on the overall appeal of Petro should it launch as planned, due to the tenuous political situation with which Venezuela continues to struggle.

Maduro’s Socialist Party lost control of the parliament in 2016, and the opposition-controlled legislature has since worked to adamantly oppose the president at every chance.

In July 2017, Venezuela elected another, pro-government legislative body that has “virtually unlimited reach” and stripped the opposition-held parliament of most of its power.

817  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction cost is too high on: January 10, 2018, 11:03:17 PM
What is happening?
will it change after adjustment since the transaction cost is being affected by the crazy price rise
The problems is there are too many bitcoin users on bitcoin network more than the mining power that can handle the transactions at once. Based on what I learnt the bitcoin transaction fee even dropped today because people are paying an average of $26 per transaction. Weeks ago people were even paying up to $80-120 per single transaction.

818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: January 10, 2018, 10:46:04 PM
Most people now with the rise of bitcoin value, just want to hold bitcoin for as long as they can so that they can maximize their worth. But isn't it a little too greedy to just keep holding bitcoin?
We've all read that story in the school with the moral "Greed is a Curse".
So what if too much greed in bitcoin may backfire? What if, the hodlers end up with nothing?
Holding bitcoin is a business investment, a good one.
The word "Greed" is not to be found in business dictionary.
In fact, here is what the greed means in the business world:
“Greed is but a word jealous men inflict upon the ambitious.” — Marcus Licinius Crassus

I’m newbie here... What’s the best way to earn Bitcoin? I need assistance please. Thank you.
The best way to earn a bitcoin for a beginner is by working on a campaign and to do so you must upgrade your membership to at least a "Jr. Member" Level by posting positive replies. From there you can find a bounty program to apply for and receive tokens at the end of a successful campaign.
820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late to get involved into Bitcoin? on: January 10, 2018, 10:26:44 PM
No. it is never too late to get involved or invest in bitcoin. Thankfully, you sound like the guy that have a bitcoin history background. it never too late anytime. Only the people that invest early will have a distinct advantage for their support, time, and investment, of course.
