Zpool has now Lyra2z support! ( http://zpool.ca/) This means there's another quality mining pool available!

Basically you can delete everything except wallet.dat if you want to try a full resync. If you get stuck on block 600+ start the zcoind with -reindex ./zcoind -reindex and it will move past block 600 It should sync past that. Make sure you're using latest release. https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/releasesWith the latest release, most sync issues should not be present except that 600 one up there.

As for price pressure, I don't think we should comment too much on price as that is not really our job and markets are fickle though the immediate aftermath really wasn't all that bad.
We have a lot of good urgent work ahead of us and the first priority being putting in checks in place and code review so that something like this doesn't happen again. We do of course have other features and plans lined up but let's focus on one thing a time rather than stretching our resources too thinly which was one of the reasons the bug occurred in the first place. Would be foolish to repeat that mistake again as this is a long term project.

well, smart guy. is there any correct blockchain explorer without showing the wrong richlist? i find non. someone has had found something wrong with the rich list last december and reported to the devs, the devs said---something wrong's with the blockchain explorer... well, it's ok, the chainz's doing this zcoin explorer for help and for free, there's nothing to blame. and i just didn't get it when the devs found something went wrong with chainz explorer, why didn't they just build one official explorer themselves. until now, after we just paid half a million dollars for them, still there's nothing. possiblly the devs are toooooooo busy, so spending some coins collected to recuit some new coders could be a much more feasible plan. sigh. again. once coins have been minted to anonymous; you arent able to simply 'check up on them via richlist'. as is the entire underlying basis for this technology. Our dev Aizensou is working on our own offcial block explorer which will also have in built checks to detect such abuses much quicker. Chainz were paid to host our block explorer but of course deep customization is not expected. @fairglu has been pretty responsive and awesome.

We have pushed the fixes for the Zerocoin bug into Github. Windows binary is already up and the rest will be up shortly: https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/releasesPlease update your wallets and nodes as soon as you can. Bittrex trading will re-open at noon PST giving everyone some time to react. Special thanks to Bittrex for being very professional and understanding. Nova Exchange is already updating and should be up immediately once they're done. BTC38 has been informed but trading is still open there. Also shoutout to Suprnova and MPH for also working closely with us and updating in a very timely manner. We will post a more detailed post mortem as soon as we can on the events that has happened and what we will do moving forward. We thank those who supported us during this difficult time. For the latest updates you can always join us on Slack ( http://invite.zcoin.io:3000) or Twitter (@zcoinofficial).

are we on GPU block yet?
good question. can someone answer? or we still in testnet and people mining there. But at leat, devs are working, it makes me happy. Nice to see the price this days)) We're already fully migrated to the new algorithm. All the major pools have upgraded as well.

|
|
So who is the big pool other than suprnova?
There's zcoin.miningpoolhub.com and there seems to be a Chinese pool as well. Good to spread out the hash a bit and point some to MPH, Pool.MN and Maxminers.

Boah it rescans all time the blocks. Something was wrong when you made the copy CjMapope.
2TB this stupid client wear my SSD now..dev please really fix this odd behavior of this client this is killing drives in short time.
sorry haha, theres another reason to not download shit from others i guess :/ :/ (only official sources) Could you please so kind to do it once again this way: Do the snapshot as follows: Close the client copy blocks and chaindata, database and peers.dat that would be a fix. I had this similar behavior on bitcoin..but not that much of wear level to an drive this is really insane. Thanks kk i highlighted those 4 and turned them into a zip, uploading now eta 20 mins here you go, hope that works https://mega.nz/#!a4ohlTYI!lXV7tZqmJqqAKLM2xPmAeDAQADIcSUwM8ZcnOm9yBNM Currently bootstraps don't work that's why we haven't released any but we're looking into it right after this fork. Also a side note, rescanning blocks doesn't wear out SSDs, write cycles do. You don't really need to keep on redownloading the blockchain.

no block source available my wallet says. MAc computer.
Help me please, i won't deposit my XZC to my mac wallet until i know what is that "no block source available" thing. That just means that you aren't connected to any nodes. Are you behind a firewall?

What is the inflation model of ZCoin?
There are currently circa 1 million coins. How many will there be in 12 months?
Thanks
Same as Bitcoin 50, 25, 12.5 etc etc etc every 4 years or so.

I downloaded the latest wallet release and needed to re-sync the wallet. Seems to be stuck at 670 block height, anyone else experiencing this, and how did you resolve it?
I have deleted the appadata\Roaming\Zcoin folder multiple times to try and get beyond block 670
Running windows 10 pro 64-bit with release v0.2.0 qt wallet for windows
The way to get past block 670 is to run it with in cmd with zcoin-qt.exe -reindex There's a bad Zerocoin transaction in that block that's causing the connections to drop but the reindex lets you push past that. Once that is done, if it hangs again, just close the zcoin-qt and open it up again (but don't reindex) and it should progress. The situation should get better as more nodes update to the new version. We're looking into the issue once the fork is done.

Just one question : confirmations are really slow. now i will have unconfirmed coins on miningpoolhub in the moment of transition at block 20500. Will i get those coins or they get lost ? I mean will they be confirmed and i get them?
I don't see any problems with the blocks on the https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xzc/ ? Still roughly every 10 minutes.

So this is not running on actual ZCoin yet?
Only on Testnet. Not live yet. 311 blocks to go (2.16 days) Tourgasm on Slack has released a Windows binary for Nvidia based GPUs. https://github.com/Tourgasm/xzc-ccminer/releases/tag/1.8.4Remember this is on testnet as the change hasn't happened yet. WE HAVE NOT VALIDATED OR TESTED THIS MINER SO USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISKWe're not responsible if anything happens! This is only for those who can't wait. what could happen lol ? who knows? Viruses? not saying it is infected but just a disclaimer.

Haha well no advantage for having the miners now unless you're a miner developer who wishes to optimize The new algo hasn't kicked in yet. Have 500 blocks to go or about 3.5 days.

Btw we have an ongoing poll on our Slack channel on exploring the implementation of incentivized nodes (Znodes) to help with Zerocoin spend transactions. What are your thoughts on implementing a super/masternode like system for Zcoin? Nothing binding and still in the early brain storming stage (also still need to assess technical feasibility). We just want to assess community sentiment.
Currently Zerocoin mints cost 0.1 XZC and spends are free. It's important to have a fee for minting to reduce spam but because processing Zerocoin spend transactions consume cpu resources (few seconds) with no fee, this makes it a problem for mining pools who dislike processing them.
One way is to relook at the fee structure and perhaps reduce the mint fee and have a spend transaction fee as well so to give pools some incentive to process them. We are unsure if this alone is incentive enough and as it scales, crappy nodes (such as rasp pis) will also have issues.
So on top of the relook of the fee structure, we are exploring a masternode like system where special nodes will incentivized to process spend transactions and take the load off pools and weak nodes. There will be a refundable collateral to ensure there's a stake involved so that damaging actions would also hurt their own investment. Currently we are not looking at instant transactions nor are we looking at voting using nodes. More details available in #poll channel. http://invite.zcoin.io:3000/ to get a Slack invite. To those looking for the current algo binaries. For current Windows pool mining binaries: https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/wiki/Pool-Mining-Guide
