where can i download the cpu miner for windows? I can not find it, there is only source!

862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: January 17, 2017, 09:03:55 AM
Hope so, cause for the moment the pools are killing us... not their fault, its a general algo fault.. i have over 30 servers now, and half of them most of the day are hashing and not submitting shares, or they are just hanging disconnected...

They're also being DDoSed so it's not just the algo either.
863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: January 17, 2017, 07:46:30 AM
The algo will be new for gpu? or an existing one?

Existing with tweaked parameters.

Will AMD and Nvidia miners be available once the tweaked parameters are out?

Sure would be nice to see this happen sooner than later to help mitigate those harvesting coins unethically.

The more coins we get evenly distributed to the largest amount of people the better off it will be for everyone.

Yup we are working with a miner developer to see what we can do Cheesy

why make a gpu miner for this lyra2 variant when you will change algo soon ?

That's a good question and one which has been debated quite hard. I think especially since when we're so early in the release schedule with a large emission of coins, the problem of cloud miner credit abusers is a big issue when a handful of people are dominating the large majority of the hash rate. We were hoping to equalize this while we work on MTP which is slated for a late March release.

Are these early investors?

Translation?

Unrelated project. All links dead. Looks like a scam.

Nothing to do with us. There are a few projects out there called "Zcoin".
867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: January 16, 2017, 08:37:40 AM
A short update on Zcoin’s development progress:

  • Poramin has managed to obtained additional programming help to work on MTP and solved a major hurdle so we are still on track.
  • To cater for people with large balances, we will be implementing 1000 xzc denomination mints instead of the current max of 100 xzc.
  • Work on our user interface is being done to allow minting of various denominations instead of through command line
  • We are aware of a sync issue that is happening when there is a node that is offline/has issues. Aizensou is already working on it.
  • We’re about to initiate testing of the Lyra2 algorithm parameter change to see if we can achieve a result that would reduce cloud mining credits abuse by favoring GPU slightly.

Further down the road and in the discussion stage (please don't hype) are the following:

  • We are assessing BIP47 vs Stealth addresses. BIP47 looks to be more favourable at the moment.
  • We are exploring details of a possible incentivized node system to further strengthen the network and provide additional services to the network
  • Re-examining fee structure for mint and spend transactions. Currently mints are a fixed 0.1 XZC and spend transactions are free despite being computationally intensive.

zomg how long does this wallet take to synch??  Angry

Weeks... I've been trying to fully sync for 3 full days and I'm still 2 weeks behind.

Angry
Hi! Mine is synched now after many wallet restarts. It does work great it just synchs really slow cos it has to check all the thingies for double-spends or something. If it gets stuck just restart the wallet, and it seems to be faster if your machine is not doing anything else at all. So when you're asleep would be the perfect time I found.

We have identified a bug that may prevent syncing in some cases where the node is not connectable. Our devs are working on it!
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: January 14, 2017, 10:50:21 AM
not sure how much interest this will get but here goes.

have been playing with the original cpuminer since zcoin's release; and seem to have found a slight edge last night.
performance gains are in the realm of about 25-50%, earning about 0.5 XZC from one quad cpu VPS overnight (9-10hr).
please note that the reported hash below is wildly incorrect, it should be around 20H/s or slightly higher from a standard 10H/s.

as some of you know, i'd been toying with a GPU miner since launch as well; with some partial luck; probably more to ocminer's annoyance with the invalid shares he keeps seeing on his pool from me  Grin
going to give it another go night and will report how i go.

baz

(the black spaces are just some debug information ive removed)
Thanks that is exciting Smiley looking forward to your report

Hi all!

We are pleased to announce that Aizensou has joined the Zcoin team as a developer <3

Aizensou is a full-stack developer who has experience in many programming languages (C++, C#, Python, Perl, Java etc.) and has been involved in the cryptocurrency space since 2013. He has a broad development portfolio from low level APIs in Python and C++ to Android native application in Java. In addition to his involvement in cryptocurrencies, Aizensou was doing his P.h.D. in machine learning at a German university from 2012 to 2016.

Not insider Trading, everyone of the Slack can read this...

This "investor" has been buying for a while now.

No one from the team know who is buying. Maybey Polo itself?
No, I am also talking about the buyer at 55,000 sats earlier. This happened when there was big confusion and no information about the problems between Poramin and Gary was being released. In the vacuum of information a very large buyer stepped in and bought tens of thousands of coins off investors who did not know what was going on and so understandably sold.

It's likely the same buyer with exactly the same modus operandi. He bids then pulls his bid back then pays up then pulls it back then pays up.

The information was all in the Slack actually about Poramin/Gary and people could see what was going on.
Rubbish. There were two slack channels, each one asying different things

And how are we to announce which is there for u to believe? We said our share, Gary censored us. How do we know who is going to win? You wanted an announcement or for us to be public about information? We said what we could say in our own Slack, how could we have controlled what Gary was saying?

None of that crap matters.

The lesson for today is a good one.

If you have 7 founders wallets and 1 has been dumped - how many other wallets can be dumped? Lol

6 more wallets to go! The first one brought the price from $8 to pennies....

There is no security in watching "someone's" account balance. You can simply watch as these wallets are emptied, but everyone here is power - less to do anything about it.

What will happen when the next founder wallet is liquidated?

All I can say is learn to read. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1638450.msg17490363#msg17490363

The information was all in the Slack actually about Poramin/Gary and people could see what was going on. And to be honest, you would have thought it was negative news with the uncertainty of the fork and honestly, it could have gone either way. Exchanges were worried and there was the threat of delisting during the whole Gary/Poramin fiasco. The pools were like 'I'll see which one Bittrex supports'. So it could have been a massacre. But it wasn't. The price still dropped understandably and it took time for it to recover. Those who lost faith dumped (many did). Those who believed it was an opportunity bought (which I assume includes the whale).

We were also trying to explore options on whether we could reach a settlement with Gary to smooth the issue over but that failed too. I couldn't make any announcement here until I was sure that we were in the clear and that we had all the miners/exchanges on our side.
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: January 13, 2017, 08:50:20 AM
Thats no manipultion it is a new investor... we have BIG NEWS...
I hope they write a official statement here on bitcointalk.

Implementation of a decentralized Market started  Cool Cool Cool Cool Cool

So it is insider trading? Great!

i'm sure all the people who sold their coins to the "investor" will be really happy that the investor knew things they did not.

Can we expect more of this? People on the inside buying everyone's coins when they know news that everyone else does not?

I'm not the one coming up with any of the rumors and seriously people are jumping to conclusions.

Just for example, the decentralized market is something we mentioned in our roadmap way back and in our Slack discussion just a few minutes ago it came up informally, there's no 'new announcement' to make or anything to get overly excited about. There's much more urgent work to be done.

As for whether the whale is an investor or not, people are free to follow in his footsteps or not. Not as if he's being subtle about it.

Now could these projects have been handled better? For sure with the benefit of hindsight and Poramin's own admission is that communication is one of his weak points which is why I'm here to assist.
Would you kindly be able to communicate whether the tech actually works?

thanks

The tech works and you can try it out. Minting and spending Zerocoin.

We're working on making it easier and later on performance improvements but yes it does work.

877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: January 13, 2017, 07:13:51 AM
I find it highly irregular that both Poramin Insom and Gary Le have been partners for a long time and then suddenly break up without explanation to the investing public. I would like to invest in Zcoin but your past actions and excuses seems too much. Insom is a serial developer with many failed/failing crypto projects, while Gary Le is a confessed prankster which speaks volumes about his inclinations.

is it true that this was 3 previous failed projects before it was renamed zcoin? and thats why the founder left? and still holds a founders wallet? with a huge stockpile of XZC, how do we know he is not going to dump?

no development for weeks.... no updates.. no formal roadmap..

I wouldn't call it failed.

Moneta/Zcoin are the same project just that Moneta didn't 'launch' and when it did it was rebranded as Zcoin.

Zerovert was abandoned due to lack of interest from the Vertcoin community (it was meant to be part of it) and Poramin's problem that he couldn't open source it without investors as he didn't want someone just stealing his hard work.

Gary didn't 'leave' he was replaced. You can trawl back a bit to see what happened as I rather not repeat Cheesy

No development update for weeks is also not true with a wallet loading fix which is pretty significant less than week ago. You can follow us on Slack and Twitter to keep abreast of updates.

We can see how Gary this moth destroys zcoin, his wallet address is aLrg41sXbXZc5MyEj7dts8upZKSAtJmRDR
Place oneself go to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xzc/address.dws?aLrg41sXbXZc5MyEj7dts8upZKSAtJmRDR.htm view! Every day he will be assigned to the reward is sent to bittrex, such is our COINS was destroy him! We must support poramin, thoroughly smash the scheme of the Gary the dog!

They scammed very bad. They could really get the chance to became rich one and for all, but they acted very bad, starting selling funds right aftert bittrex list writing they were sent to anon bounties.

Very bad act. Now they need to start again with a new project, but theyr name are well written in my scam walls "poramin and gary". doesn't matter who more and who less. After vertcoin, moneta, now zcoin.

Take care of your money next time. Dev with a face doesnt' mean "security".

One of the most biggest scam of 2016.

Yup, very consistent list of failures. Dont forget ZeroVert also.

Gary Issue Explanation

Gary Le is no longer a part of the Zcoin project.

First of all, we have posted an explanation to the investing public. We just don't want to drag on this drama longer than it has to especially since we are past that. Gary's flaws are known with all the stuff you linked. For those of you who have had dealings with Poramin on Slack, you'll get the feeling why Poramin put up with Gary for so long even when he was basically taken for a ride. He is trusting by nature and just really wants to code.

Quote
Without getting into the dramatic details, this mainly arose from a few key factors:

a) lack of transparency to Poramin on how the initial investor funds were utilised and how much was left to fund Poramin's dev (with Poramin doing all the coding work). The vast majority of the initial investors' funds (>90%) remain with Gary so if anyone thinks he was forced out unfairly should consider this.
b) lack of involvement from Gary on his duties with very little disclosure to the team as to how he was working to promote Zcoin despite numerous pushes to help out.
c) the dumping of Gary's wallet and the lack of spending on Zcoin marketing/dev and building the team. This lead to many good people who wanted to work or contribute help to the coin to lose interest when they were not remunerated fairly for their efforts.
d) questionable behavior in a number of specific instances that did not tally with Gary's assertions. I will refrain from going into details. You can dig them by yourself from Slack and BCT.

I believe this is detailed enough unless you want tons of chat logs and digging up of history but these can all be attested with anyone who was involved with the Zcoin project and Gary. You can even see the BCT replies on this.

Alleged Dumping on Bittrex

Secondly the dumping on Bittrex was only done by Gary and can be seen on the public chain.
Please kindly look at the following wallets which are the current wallets in the founder's reward

31,640.5 XZC Poramin's wallet: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xzc/address.dws?a1kCCGddf5pMXSipLVD9hBG2MGGVNaJ15U.htm
32,202.0 XZC Investor 1: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xzc/address.dws?aCAgTPgtYcA4EysU4UKC86EQd5cTtHtCcr.htm
26,294.0 XZC Investor 2: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xzc/address.dws?aQ18FBVFtnueucZKeVg4srhmzbpAeb1KoN.htm
13,498.0 XZC Bounty wallet: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xzc/address.dws?a1HwTdCmQV3NspP2QqCGpehoFpi8NY4Zg3.htm
4204 XZC New Investor 3: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xzc/address.dws?aHu897ivzmeFuLNB6956X6gyGeVNHUBRgD.htm replacing Gary: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xzc/address.dws?aLrg41sXbXZc5MyEj7dts8upZKSAtJmRDR.htm (totally emptied out).

32,202 XZC is what you would get if you have not touched it all so if you take a look, the vast majority of funds are there.
This means that Poramin has only transferred out 561.5 XZC
Investor 2 has transferred out 5908 XZC with the last transfer on the 15 October 2016.

Investor 1 and 3 have not transferred out any of their Zcoin's founder rewards. Note that Investor 3 is new since he replaced Gary hence the much smaller balance.

Poramin's Previous Projects

All of these were previously explained but of course you can draw whatever conclusions you want.
https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/wiki/FUD

TL:DR Version

Vertcoin:

In 2014 Poramin had two devs with him, Boris and Erik and Poramin took a back seat especially when he was doing his masters in John Hopkins University (https://isi.jhu.edu/student-projects-completed-in-2014-2015/)
Boris and Erik was replaced by Adam (https://github.com/a432511) and metalicjames (https://github.com/metalicjames) but James went to study at MIT and Adam was focusing on his own startup. By that time, Poramin was already involved with Moneta/Zcoin with obligations to his investors.

He still hopes to return to develop for Vertcoin with EVM.

James continues to do maintenance releases for Vertcoin (https://github.com/vertcoin/vertcoin/releases)
Note that Vertcoin's marketcap is still bigger than Zcoin's Cheesy

Zerovert: Closed source, was started to be part of the Vertcoin ecosystem as a merged mine coin but lack of interest from Vertcoin community, scaling issues and no funding led to it being abandoned. There were certain difficult technical issues also that also made further development problematic so especially when support was not there, not much motivation to carry on. It was kept closed source as since there was no outside funding and so much work has been put into it, Poramin didn't want to open source it either and let someone else take all his hard work but that also meant that his work could not be audited so there was a lot of questions as to whether the Zerocoin implementation was truly working.

Claims that they were dumped are unfounded as evidenced by the blockchain: https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/wiki/FUD

I said it could be a bad idea. We won't know until we've seen it in action and tried to break it.

But whether or not it works is beside the point. I haven't seen any real desire from the vertcoin community to add full anonymity. I think it would be irresponsible for a dev to implement such experimental code into a coin that the community hasn't shown any desire for.

Moneta/Zcoin: Same project. Moneta was launched as Zcoin. Moneta was NOT a separate project.

These are the only cryptocurrency projects Poramin has been involved in.

Now could these projects have been handled better? For sure with the benefit of hindsight and Poramin's own admission is that communication is one of his weak points which is why I'm here to assist. Should Poramin have done more due diligence on Gary? Well take note that Gary also managed to convince the investors and Thiel to invest in him...

Most of founder funds dumped?

Half of it, yes, we think so.

No...Gary's wallet formed 1/5th of the founder's wallet. (not any more since it was pulled out)

Bounty fund was used for some bounties and to pay various people who did work on it (explained many times before). Website work, my pay, dev work etc etc

One of the seed nodes went down due to certain issues and we can't restore it with the same IP as it was on a VPS.

If you want to make syncing faster, you can try this:

Create zcoin.conf in your App Data folder or if you're in Linux ~/.zcoin and add this line:

addnode=xzc.suprnova.cc

Then restart your node. See if it syncs faster.

We'll fix this soon Cheesy
