Well. This guy seems to have pretty good credentials, but I think I'm gonna have to bet against this. Is there a video of the presentation anywhere, I'd love to see it.
Seems like a good bet actually, because if the cryptography survives then you win, if it fails then there's a good chance your BTC are worthless anyway (unless a quick fork occurs).

Looks like very nice stuff, but also bloody expensive!! I recently bought a lovely second-hand leather 3 seater sofa for £10 (someone was redecorating and needed it gone). It's very comfortable, I don't know if a similar sized sofa from these guys would be worth 500+ times more money haha...
Good luck in getting them to accept BTC though, seems like it would be a perfect customer base, I know if I had a few hundred thousand pounds worth of BTC I would be straight in there with an order for some Italian Destroyed Leather sofas, damn that leather looks dope...

You can never really "get away with it" because the guilt/shame will have an effect on your character/emotions.
In the same way that HSBC feel "guilt and shame" for money laundering billions for Mexican cartels. And the same way that payday loan companies make 3000% APR on their loans. etc. Although I wouldn't do this (for fear of getting caught mainly), if someone were to get away with it I don't think they should feel shameful or guilty for stealing from far bigger thieves than themselves.

The "13 inbred terrorist European Bloodlines of the British government" told me to tell you to fuck off and stop saying that they're the orchestrators of every bit of bad news that you find on infowars. They said that they are actually a nice bunch of guys and are just trying to make a bit of money like everyone else so they can impress their pagan witch concubines.
Not my words, simply the words of the "13 inbred terrorist European Bloodlines of the British government"

The Nine Satanic Statements: 1. Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence. 2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams. 3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit. 4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it, instead of love wasted on ingrates. 5. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek. 6. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires. 7. Satan represents man as just another animal (sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all fours), who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all. 8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification. 9. Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as he has kept it in business all these years. http://altreligion.about.com/od/satanismlaveyan/tp/nine_satanic_statements.htmI used to know a guy who had these on his wall, he didn't worship the dark lord though. To be honest these, along with the "11 Satanic Rules of the Earth", make a lot more sense than most mainstream religion's ideologies. I know these statements were made by LaVey and are not what all satanists subscribe to, but still, food for thought...

I would like to say this is a good thing but I would probably be proved wrong. Usually when you get these kind of shows they tend to find more bad than good to talk about.
after watching it, i would say its a fair balance. mostly positive of what the world wants (privacy).. it didnt seem to be a political propaganda story about the bad side (well maybe a few minutes brief mentions of criminal possible uses) but still fairly balanced leaning towards the positive I agree, I thought it was going to be quite biased, but it wasn't bad. Highlights: Balanced arguments on mass surveillance, good amount of airtime discussing the benefits of online privacy. Some nice history of how the tor network came about and its uses in the real world, the benefits of encryption etc, they talked a lot about how our information could be used against us (which is good for the average joe to know). Bitcoin itself was generally discussed in a positive light: P2P transactions with no 3rd party, explanation of blockchain technology, footage of bitcoin trading in "Wall Street" with guys shouting prices in the mid 400s (below the current price ). Bad: Technical stuff wasn't explained particularly well, Silk Road made out to be a platform for mass bulk drug dealing (anyone with any sense knows the big boys use fiat ), obligatory dramatic music when drugs/Silk Road was mentioned (yet no dramatic music while discussing terrorism/showing leaked military footage of war crimes). Kaspersky waffling on about some universal online ID, hard to understand and sounded like a terrible idea. Recurring annoying shots of people's faces momentarily lit up, then hidden (standard BBC documentary filler to keep dumb people engaged)

This game looks great, but after clicking around trying to find the Bitcoin option I found this in the FAQ: Q: I do not see the "Pay with Bitcoin" option on your site. A: Bitcoin is available as a purchase option whenever US Dollars are listed. Users from Europe may not see Bitcoin listed as an option in the Humble Store where prices are listed in Pounds and Euros. Well that sucks. I might have to commit the ultimate blasphemy and click the paypal button...

Buy BTC, hodl BTC for 5 years, have riches & biches & anything else you want... simples Can I have my own island and call it Isle of Biches where biches come from all over there world to see me and my army of monkeys? That actually sounds like it could be a real-life French island, pronounced "Beesh".

This isn't about the Bible, but since you included "...or any religious book for that matter" in the OP, there are Buddhist texts spanning both before and after the time Jesus is said to have lived that discuss atoms with stunning accuracy given the lack of technology and scientific equipment at the time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhist_atomism
Well, you actually got the point, ancient budhist texts and Indian vedas are full of more interesting stuff than any bible/koran i don't know what would ever contain. Yet didn't heard any unbelievable story based on those sources It seems that Ron Wyatt has found, within the last 2 or 3 decades, a lot of evidence that the Exodus was true. Prior to this, there was really only the Bible. It is interesting. Ron Wyatt Archaeology - The Exodus - Audio Cleaned & Video Stabilized - 2012 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmU_TyITtocWhat goes to you: http://www.tentmaker.org/WAR/I watched 20mins or so of the Ron Wyatt video, this just seems to be wild speculation based on the bible and earlier myths, nothing to do with the buddhist theories on matter stated earlier. Seems to be verging on propaganda to be honest, just regurgitating ancient texts with no basis in reality.

That's pretty damn interesting, to be fair those Buddhist theories about matter do have a stark similarity with the current quantum theories. Whether that was down to human intuition, or some sort of "cosmic intelligence/connection" relaying information, is another matter. Makes you think though. You learn something new every day

You know, many people are representing such text with strong subjective drive added to it. Or even more popular is choosin just part of text one finds useful to popularize his idea/whatever. Only strange thing i stumbled across some reading of bible was Leviathan, but it could be also product of bad translating. Could be interesting reading Bible in Hebrew, its original language I agree, many people interpret religious texts in their own way, and you make a valid point that some things may be lost in translation. However, I would still be interested in any facts or theories that may have been written in religious texts before they were discovered by mankind.

I used to be good at swimming. I could swim 100m breaststroke in 1.06, (long course) equivalent to the 1968 world record. Unfortunately I was competing in 1999

is there any record in the Bible of anything that was discovered after the bible was written?
For instance living cells/gravity/atoms/photons/electrons/neutrons/quarks/galaxies/dinosaurs/electromagnetic waves/radioactivity/viruses/bacteria/DNA etc.
This is not meant to be an atheist or religious thread really, just a question for people that believe what is written in the Bible (or any religious book for that matter). Personally, I find it a little suspect that these religious texts only contain information about what was known at the time of writing.

From the article at: http://globalwarming-arclein.blogspot.ca/2014/08/nasa-tests-impossible-no-fuel-quantum.html ... "That nicely ruined NASA's classical models. I no longer think that we are dealing with a Vacuum in space at all. We have dark matter instead that will decay into more complex particles from time to time. I am just beginning to query this core discovery so i do not yet wish to say more about this thruster except that producing a high powered thruster using dark matter now appears feasible." Interesting, so they claim to be harnessing energy from the quantum vacuum. It has been known (theorised) for a while now that vacuum isn't actually empty, and consists of sub-atomic particles/phenomena constantly popping in and out of existence. This definitely should be researched further. The question is exactly how this is happening, and whether it could work on a large scale. The comment about photon torpedoes seems a bit silly though They aren't harnessing energy from a quantum vacuum. The energy source of this is electricity, similarly to an ion engine. Normally with a rocket or ion drive what you are doing is taking some of your mass, throwing it out the opposite direction you want to go as fast as possible, and using conservation of momentum to push you. The faster you can send out the reaction mass the more efficient your engine is at using the onboard fuel mass ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsiolkovsky_rocket_equation). Ion drives are extremely efficient, normal chemical rockets not so much, but both of them have to use part of themselves and so even if you have unlimited power (say from a solar panel or long life nuclear reactor) you will still eventually run out of reaction mass to toss out the other end. What this drive claims to do is create thrust from electricity without using any reaction mass, which would be revolutionary. Gotcha, thanks for the explanation.

Tried this stuff - Tactical Nuclear Penguin. It's actually really nice, like a sort of smoky whisky in a way. But it's not the strongest beer anymore - Brewdog had a sort of face-off with a german brewery where they made progressively stronger beers. Brewdog made one called "Sink the Bismarck", the german guys made another, then Brewdog made "The End of History" 55%, then Brewdog made some other guys made "Armageddon" - I think it's 65% ABV or something ridiculous, that's the strongest at the moment I think EDIT: Brewdog actually make some amazing "normal" beer, their Punk IPA and Hardcore IPA are both excellent.
