tvbcof, you've got all these paranoid ideas about vaccines, saying they might be being used for population control by the "NWO" etc, you said something else equally ludicrous about the aluminum particles making our brains more susceptible to radiation...

The problem is, the evidence shows the exact opposite. We can clearly see that death/infection rates historically drop when vaccines are introduced. What's more, there is no evidence of population control/infertility or any  radiation mind control. Yes, I know about MK Ultra/Naomi etc but none of that shit really worked.

Where are all the people dying/becoming sterile from the vaccines? Last time I checked, the world population was rising pretty quickly.
302  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you eat your Mother to stay alive ? on: December 16, 2016, 05:30:31 AM
What kind of question is this Huh after the forum "Would you eat a human?" Now there is "Would you eat your mother alive?". Absolutely unbelievable contemporary man actually had a strange thought. To eat the flesh of men I would never, How could I eat the flesh of my own mother ?? Live or die, I will never eat the flesh of my mother, now a lot of questions that made me queasy. The world is already funny. What kind of a crazy question that will appear ??

I see it as a thought experiment, a hypothetical scenario which will probably never happen, but it is interesting to debate nonetheless.

Have a read of this article, an interview with a guy who was in a plane crash and managed to survive on the side of a mountain, in part by eating the flesh of some of the victims.

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2016/04/160403-andes-uruguay-rugby-cannibal-plane-crash-canessa-ngbooktalk/

Quote
We had to eat these dead bodies, and that was it. The flesh had protein and fat, which we needed, like cow meat. I was also used to medical procedures so it was easier for me to make the first cut. The decision to accept it intellectually is only one step, though. The next step is to actually do it. And that was very tough. Your mouth doesn’t want to open because you feel so miserable and sad about what you have to do.

My main issue was that I was invading the privacy of my friends: raping their dignity by invading their bodies. But then I thought, if I were killed I would feel proud that my body could be used for others to survive. I feel that I shared a piece of my friends not only materially but spiritually because their will to live was transmitted to us through their flesh.  We made a pact that, if we died, we would be happy to put our bodies to the service of the rest of the team.

I think that last part is beautiful - what seems initially like a grotesque act, becomes a statement of peace and love to humanity, giving life to friends who would otherwise have died.
303  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why God exists in all people mind? on: December 16, 2016, 02:11:00 AM
What a difficult topic. In my opinion so far there is no god, in the traditional sense which people think. People think God is good, god is both good and bad, it is not a he or a she, it is energy. It allows you to take your breath and breathe and it also prevents you from breathing the same way, the perfect balance. A balance that can be perceived as cruel some of the times and yet also brilliant and king at others. God is everywhere, it is nature, it is mankind, it is animal. People get scared and then pray for something they perceive as good to happen to them. Good and bad are only perceptions.

After 20 years of buying socks I can tell you that you shouldn't buy low cost socks, unless they are good quality. i used to have like 50 pairs of socks and most of them made my feet sweaty and uncomfortable. Now I have like only 10 pairs of socks but they are all really good quality and my feet are happy and comfortable all year round!  Smiley

My advice, go to a discount shop like TK Maxx or Ross and buy the best socks they have for a cheap price. "Stance" make some really comfy, good quality socks, I also have some nice thick Adidas and Nike socks. The Nike basketball ones are real nice.

Aah, still no scientific papers (peer reviewed or otherwise) on this theory I see?

Just link upon link of sketchy youtube videos, mostly with the signature spooky music, overedited production, biased narrative and subtle belittling of the opponents of the theory.

Science motherfuckers, do you speak it?

Are you nervous? Rather enjoy the stillness of flat earth.

It has been already told several times. You will find no religion of scientism here, only freedom of flat earth truth. Can you deal with that?

If you are searching bogus monkeyman science papers here, you are in a wrong thread.

No I'm not searching for "bogus monkeyman science papers" (whatever they may be), just some some sound, empirical evidence of the FE theory.

This thread is full of people like you trying to use scientific reasoning to explain your wild theories. If the science behind your theory is sound, then where are the academic papers? If flat Earth was true, you could become a millionaire by writing a paper with solid evidence to prove it.

Why don't you do it? I'm serious, if you know so much about the science behind the flat Earth theory, write a paper and get it published! You could become rich and famous, and go down in the history books for eternity!
306  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your view on Alien or Alien life? Does it exists? on: December 16, 2016, 12:09:10 AM
Pyramids are really not that hard to make, they certainly don't require high intelligence. After all, a pyramid is literally the simplest possible mathematical way of making a tall, stable structure.
Now if the Egyptians/Mayans etc had built skyscrapers with glass, metal etc. you might be onto something. But they really are very simple structures, that anyone with basic knowledge could build. In fact there are many crappy pyramids in Egypt, that predate the more advanced ones in Giza etc. But we don't hear much about them because they are so crappy.
Look up the shit pyramids of Sneferu as an example.

It's a complicated thing with those pyramids. They might not be hard to build, but there's no way to transport such heavy blocks without the use of machines.
Stone blocks used to build pyramids were enormous even for today's standards. The biggest one in the base of Chephren pyramid weights 468 tons (!). If you ask people how the pyramids were build they will usually repeat the silly explanation they saw on TV: "Egyptians pushed them across the desert and lifted and positioned with the help of cattle and wooden cranes."
Transporting a 70 ton granite block would require over 600 workers, a 200 ton one? Just over 1,8 thousand people, and that's less than half of what we're talking about. Now if they even managed to somehow pull it off there was a problem of pulling some of those stones up and fitting them into the walls and inner chambers.
To give you a perspective a typical 80m crane you see daily in almost every city in the world has a maximum lift of 20 tons and the weight of a locomotive is close to 150t.

Yeah but the really huge rocks like the 400 ton one you mention are always at the base of the pyramids, as you go higher up the blocks get much smaller.

Quote
The stones used at the bottom are very large, but as the pyramid rises, the stones become smaller, becoming only 50 cm (20 in) thick at the apex.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramid_of_Khafre

As to how the Egyptians moved the rocks along the ground, the generally accepted theory is that they used wooden sleds and poured water in front of the sleds to decrease the friction.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/05/02/the-surprisingly-simple-way-egyptians-moved-massive-pyramid-stones-without-modern-technology/?utm_term=.0ff1902cf0b5

You can even see the technique in this wall painting from the article, which also shows a shitload of slaves helping out.

I don't believe your maths that says you would need 600 workers to move a 70 ton block. That equates to 1 person pulling 117 kg - the weight of a single (slightly fat) person. They could pull way more than that, some people can lift more than that above their head!

As a counter example, the world record for a single man pulling a plane is 188 tons. That's one person pulling a plane weighing 188 tons. Yes yes, I know it's not a valid comparison because the plane is on wheels and therefore has much less friction. But I still think your calculations are WAY off for pulling a wooden sled using water as a lubricant.
307  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your view on Alien or Alien life? Does it exists? on: December 15, 2016, 07:33:00 PM
I've thought about this question a lot over the years, I used to believe that alien life certainly exists because of the size of the universe, billions of galaxies with billions of stars in each one, many with planets orbiting them. How could there not be another planet with life?

However after pondering this question for years, I realized that we simply can't estimate the likelihood of alien life, because we only have a single data point - our own planet.

Earth might be the only planet with life in the whole universe, until we find another planet with life we cannot estimate the probability of alien life. So my answer is, we simply don't know.

Many of the people in world believe that Alien life exists. There are also many evidences related to alien life, extra terrestrial way, warm hole (from which they can travel through galaxies). What's your view on alien life. Does it even exists? Or it's just a rumor.

I really choose "maybe" in voting the topic that you started so in my mind their are many questions because i really think that aliens are true why? because the pyramid in Egypt is my evidence people who can create a rock shape square they don't even have any rulers at that time only human hands they can create a perfect square and the mixing of the ingredients of the rock square i am really surprise that human can build such high rock shaped squares things with no machine i really believed that aliens is the one responsible for that they helped humans create a pyramid but still i think that they are still humans like us but they have advance machine and they lived longer that than our galaxy but even though the evidence hasn't been really shown but i believe they are real Smiley

Pyramids are really not that hard to make, they certainly don't require high intelligence. After all, a pyramid is literally the simplest possible mathematical way of making a tall, stable structure.

Toss a stone into the pond. The ripples aren't the stone. But like they move upon the face of the pond, even so their vibration might extend forever even if it is in only a tiny, tiny way.

The "essence" of a person is NOT his physical form alone. Emotion, spirit and thought extend beyond the physical. But even they are not the person, entirely. However, we know from people who have lost many parts of their physical body, that although the emotion, and spirit and mind may change from the loss, the emotion, and spirit and mind are still strongly the person... way more strongly than simply the physical.

It seems that the "metaphysical" parts of a person go on just like the vibes of the stone that is tossed into the water. And being way more complex than the stone waves, who knows what will happen to them? Certainly they are not the same as they were when they were held captive in the physical body.

You wanted an answer that didn't have a lot to do with God, directly, so there you have it. However, nobody can remove God from the equation, since He holds everything in place. So, consider what He says before you do something as disastrous as suicide.

Cool

Nicely written piece of prose there, I found it relaxing and pleasant to read even though I don't agree with it.

The problem with your theory is that the majority of a human being's "essence" or consciousness resides in the brain (perhaps some in the spinal cord, or other organs but the brain is where the real shit happens). If someone, for example, lost a limb in a car crash, their essence or consciousness hasn't been directly affected as long as their brain remains intact. If you start lobotomizing people, then their consciousness will become affected.
However, consider body heat. Body heat is energy that moves beyond the body. If you think that the vibrational energy of thought and emotion and spirit remain only in the body, you are missing a lot of science.

As for your analogy of "ripples in water", well it's a cute concept but it makes no sense in terms of consciousness. Our influences on the world certainly affect things in an outward, ripply, butterfly effect type of way, but we are not "experiencing" any of those influences in the same way we experience emotions or pain through our conscious brain. So it is a different thing entirely.
Never heard of EEG machines or CAT scans? Both of these show that you are speaking from a very ignorant premise.

If I throw a huge rock into the sea, which creates a tsunami 1000 miles away that kills and injures thousands of people, I am not conscious of their suffering. Yeah I would feel terrible if I heard it on the news the next day, but I'm not intrinsically linked to the people I killed by some sort of metaphysical waves.
However, you do not know that you are NOT subconsciously aware of these things. The subconscious mind protects the conscious mind, so it would not allow your conscious mind to feel these vibes, which would be minor, and confused as they reached you.

In addition, consider when you move to a new city. It takes a long time for people to get used to you being there. A lot of it includes sympathetic and empathetic vibes.

You are trying to cover up the knowledge that exists medically and physically all over the place, that our vibes continue on after death, even though they are in a changed form, and even though they are weaker (are they weaker?) than they might have been in the living body.

On topic, when you die you rot in the ground. The atoms and molecules that make up your body (which were created billions of years ago in multiple interstellar supernovae) are broken down by insects, bacteria, fungi and other strange creatures. The resulting chemicals are consumed by organisms, which prosper and grow, eventually making offspring of their own. These organisms will eventually die, rot, and the chemicals in their dead bodies will provide food for the next generation of plants and animals.
Now you are simply talking silly. Dead people are not people. They are dead people. There is a difference. That isn't you rotting in the ground. It is your remains. You don't even sound credible.

I think it's a beautiful concept personally.

Of course I don't know this for sure, but from what we know it seems like the most likely explanation. We will only know for sure when the time comes, but until then I'm gonna try and make the most of life on this (sometimes shitty) planet.

Finally. You don't know for sure. Understatement of everything you had to say.

Live on, in your sometimes shitty life. But learn to think a little.

Cool

I started to reply to your points, but then I realized not a single one made sense, or even had anything to do with what I said. So I gave up. We'll never agree anyway because you believe in a soul and a god 100%, and I don't, and I know that your stubborness prevents anyone from changing your views.

I will say your comment accusing me of ignorance made no sense - I know how EEG and CAT scans work, and they have nothing to do with life after death. CAT scans are especially irrelevant because they are basically X-rays - they output radiation and record what is reflected back. You could do a CAT scan on a teapot and it would still appear on the screen - does that mean the teapot has a soul?

EEGs are different, because they are measuring the electrical activity in the brain. And yes, some of this energy will certainly reach outside the brain. But that absolutely doesn't mean that we can use this energy in any useful way, and it certainly isn't evidence for a soul.

Your final paragraph just sums up your attitude - yes of course I don't know for sure, but NOR DO YOU! And you believe in some real crazy shit man!

The worst thing is, you think you're above everyone else with your "scientific proofs of god"  etc, when you're actually just very indoctrinated, arrogant, and unwilling to change your mind about literally everything you believe. Open your mind a little, you might learn something!

harsh words, protokol. Cheesy also, saddampbuh, from the different posts of his on here are very violent, I mean he is fully against everything and everyone here that do not share the same opinion and always calling for the worst upon them :/
no distinction need be made between eliminating human pests and insect pests, violence administered for a noble purpose in a dispassionate manner is perfectly acceptable to me

But who decides who the pests are? What if one day, a new leader in your country decides that YOU are the pest? I mean after all it is not such an extreme view - you condone the killing of fellow citizens who may not have harmed anyone...

Think about Pol Pot, who just decided he would kill all the citizens that he considered "intellectual". They hadn't harmed anyone. Is that just as noble as what Duterte is doing?

Im done .

Bye smart people.  and yes (Alluh is the greatest).

Don't feel so badly. Those jokers are as ignorant of everything else as they are of the existence of God. In fact, they can't even understand that God exists for starters, even when someone shows the proofs for God's existence like these:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1054513.msg16803380#msg16803380.

Let them go. They, the dead, will bury each other, and people who follow God will never have to put up with them again.

Cool

Spoiler alert: Badecker's "proofs" are nothing more than cleverly worded conjecture, and not proofs at all. In fact, proofs of god are a fallacy in themselves, as they can never be absolute proofs (like mathematical proofs can). Furthermore, proof of god is an oxymoron as the basis of believing in a god requires faith, which cannot by definition be scientifically proven.

A better word for these "proofs" would be "evidence", however the evidence is fallacious and misleading, often making false assumptions and tricking the reader into making connections that are unrelated, amongst using other misleading techniques.

If there was truly, irrefutable scientific proof for god, then why has no actual scientist published a paper in a reputable journal proving just that?! Guy would win a Nobel prize for sure.

So yeah, if you wanna believe in invisible supernatural beings that influence your life, go ahead, I don't have a problem with that. But don't believe for a second that these beings can be scientifically proven - you need to trust your blind faith.

I believe that "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" by one of the most prominent Soviet filmmakers - Sergei Parajanov, is one of the best films in the history of cinematography. it is some sort of an abstract of Ukrainian Hutsul lifestyle, culture and traditions and simultaneously it happens to be one of the most affecting, touching, lyric and tragic filmed love stories. and believe me folks, it was regarded as a masterpiece back in 1964 and even nowadays it's considered to be among the featured chef-d'oeuvres of world cinematography.

This sounds well worth watching - I haven't seen many Soviet films, the only two I remember enjoying were "Battleship Potemkin" and "Stalker"

I will certainly be checking this one out, sounds fascinating. Thanks for the recommendation.

Old boy.

Great film, I assume you're talking about the original Korean film rather than the remake?

A really interesting plot, where the audience knows just as little as the protagonist throughout pretty much the whole film, making the plot twists even more brutal and effective. I loved the cinematography of the fight scene in the tunnel, with the tracking camera moving backwards and forwards. Also the scene where he eats a live octopus was weird but incredibly powerful.
315  Other / Off-topic / Re: The arthouse/cult/classic Movie Thread! on: December 15, 2016, 01:53:48 AM
just finished watching 'Fight club'...guess the movie everyone knows but i never got a chance to watch it..well..actually wasn't interested in watching..read a book and i think books are way better than movies..watched it know because doing a review on it at here...and to my surprise the movie is great..way better than the book and such a thing happens almost never...Fincher did awesome job

Yeah Fight Club is an excellent film, I was a little young (14/15) to understand some of the subtext the first time I watched it, but I still thought it was amazing. On later viewings I enjoyed it even more - the themes of anarchism representing a savage punch in the face to the blandness, repetition and pointless consumerism of modern society really struck a chord with me.

Also some amazing cinematography - the shot where all the objects in the protagonist's room appear as listings in a catalogue was ingenious. I also loved the tone of Edward Nortons narration throughout, and the interesting shots early in the film where the real Tyler Durden pops up in single frames before the two have "met".

And the final scene with the Pixies track, epic finale...

Haven't read the book, but it's on my list.

Before the election results came out, a lot of celebrities had declared that they will be immigrating to other countries (especially Canada and Mexico), if Trump becomes the President of the United States. Almost one month has passed since he won the elections, and none of the celebrities have renounced their American passports.

I've never heard any celebrity saying that they'l move to mexico Cheesy

So are we going to start a fundraiser to get them one way tickets or...?

A person doesn't neccesarily need to renounce their US passport to emigrate to another country, they can gain dual citizenship in many (but not all) cases.

Haha Ford is
Harrison? Huh

He was referring to Westworld. Anthony Hopkins created a world of humanoids who are called hosts
Ah ok. I wanted Westworld for the first couple of episodes but lost interest in it rather fast. I am not a West buff but the advanced technology was very well portrayed.
As Harrison is a big regilious person too.

Try and watch the whole series, it's well worth it. There are multiple narratives which seem confusing at first, but everything comes together in the end. One of the best TV adaptations for years IMO, great acting/writing and some very interesting philosophical questions. I really enjoyed it, even though the pacing in the first half of the series is a little slow.
