181  Economy / Gambling / Re: YOLOdice.com ETH competition just started! on: October 02, 2018, 10:22:01 AM
I believe this is a profitable wagering competition around, you might win some good cash with site profit, and I believe site is always profit as long as there are many players wagered a lot. This time is eth wagering competition which is really a famous coin, so I can predict the result will be amazing than ltc competition last time

We (the site) are not always at profit with the competitions, sometimes we are at loss (i.e. we pay the prizes even though the site did not make enough profit to cover the expenses). Nevertheless we try to design these competitions so that they're  fun for players, and so that there's a chance we can make profit too.

Anyway, good luck! The prize pool is almost 31 ETH now and I honestly hope it would grow a bit more.

Cheers!
Ethan

Ethan, just wanted to check in and make sure you're not affected by the Bitcoin Core bug, and that you've upgraded or don't use Bitcoin Core

Thanks for the heads up, we run 0.16.3 on both Litecoin and Bitcoin nodes. So we are good in case someone submits a degenerate block. Your coins are safe!

That's sweet of you to say, but I would be in favor of you guys supporting CLAM. The more the merrier I say.

Let me think about it! Are you, by any chance, planning to update clams software and get it on-par with bitcoind development? I am thinking about RPC compatibility first.

Cheers,
Ethan

I've already sent all the prizes. Thank you for participating! The competition was pretty intense indeed, the prize pool grew past our expectations and I am glad it was fun!

Take care and stay with us!

Cheers,
Ethan

If YD ever supports CLAMS, FreeBitcoins.com will totally become an affiliate <3 (heard about y'all from Just-Dice.com).

Hi, nice to hear this! But honestly I don't this this is going to happen. CLAMS are JD's domain and I would never undermine JD's authority here. I respect Dooglus a lot and it's hard to overestimate his contribution to dice gaming and Bitcoin community in general.

But we are thinking about adding Monero. Dogecoin comes to my mind too, but their software is a bit too old - 0.14 version is long overdue and development kind of stalled.

Other than that, you are more than welcome to become an affiliate!

Cheers,
Ethan

It looks like the ending could be pretty exciting. The prize pool just passed 350 LTC mark.

It's even more now, 333 LTC 350 LTC.

Here we are, a day later and the prize pool is now over 220 LTC.

The prize pool is already 193 LTC, which makes almost all the prizes worth wagering - right now the prizes are larger than 1% of what you need to wager.

Cheers and good luck!

192  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 only this week - LTC "50+50" Wagering Competition on: September 11, 2018, 02:52:53 PM
1. The prize pool is now over 180 LTC, which means the 1st prize is a bit over 45 LTC.

2. I have improved several things today on YD, namely:

- ETH withdrawals are much faster now and much more reliable,
- ETH min withdrawal amount is now 0.002 ETH (was 0.01 ETH),
- bets should be faster since I optimized (or removed) some database-intensive data aggregation queries.

Good luck everyone! I bet the competition prize pool will end up well above 200 LTC, but we'll see.

Cheers,
Ethan

Hi,

it's been a while since you heard from us and there's nobody to blame except for the summer holidays and the rest we all needed to get some strength for the upcoming year.

So, back to work. We are planning some cool things, most importantly:

- We're planning to add  Monero (XMR) to the site. It's a politically-neutral coin with a good set of features and stable enough to consider this a nice addition to YOLOdice. It offers some features not available in BTC/LTC/ETH: anonymity on the protocol level. Other than that, it looks promising as a coin too.

- Kiritsugu and other players convinced me that YD needs a PvP lottery. I believe it would add more fun to the site, although I am not yet sure about the specific rules. One thing is sure: it will be provably fair to a level not seen anywhere else. And it should be fun too!

I'll keep you in the loop. If you have any thoughts about the lottery, tell me! I am still designing the thing, so everything is possible!

Take care and cheers!

197  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 FAST, LTC NUMBER HUNT with 60 LTC prize pool and 20 prizes on: July 24, 2018, 09:20:46 AM
Yesterday I have improved a few things:

ETH withdrawals should be more reliable. I have implemented some server-side locking to work around the most common scenario where the node was skipping nonces.

Silent tips (sending tips to other players without announcing them in Chat) is now available at level 7 (was lvl 11). Simply uncheck the "Announce..." option in the confirmation popup and nobody knows you are sending a tip :-)

Other than that, there is only a few hours left if you still want to join our competition!

Cheers,
Ethan
198  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 FAST, LTC NUMBER HUNT with 60 LTC prize pool and 20 prizes on: July 17, 2018, 03:15:34 PM
Indeed, good luck everyone!

There is one more thing we added today, namely "silent tips". See yourself:

You can also type:
Code:
/tip 2 1 ltc silent

EDIT: it should say "Announce this tip", not "bet". Fix is coming!

Cheers,
Ethan

Hey Ethan,

I noticed that when 2FA is required to exchange coins, typing in the 2FA code and then hitting enter doesn't trigger anything, you've got to click on the button. Do you think you could add a listener for that?

Sure, will look into this!
