861  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: STOP LOSS ? on: November 20, 2013, 09:15:56 AM
You can use BTX Trader. It supports Stop Limit orders for mt gox, bitstamp, btce and btcchina.

See this post on how to set it up.

Disclosure: I wrote it.

Is there an exchanger who offers STOP LOSS ?

slightly OT what are the price on which a stop loss should trigger off? "executed" price or market price?

I'm asking because if the latter is valid then all that was needed to trigg the stop loss order is for the highest bid to suddenly drop, even if there was no actual trade related to this dip. So there might have been a flash crash in the bid even though there was no flash crash in executed price.

Since if the makerket is still pretty low volume and has stop loss order based on market price, the highest bid can easily move a lot, especially on a volatile period like the ones we're in.

In the case of BTX, it triggers off the last price which is a common choice.

I would give it a try but unfortunately I've no windows system at my disposal currently, anyway it seems a neat tool after a quick glance

I cannot reach btcchina, I keep getting the ddos service message.

Anyone else having this problem? I am becoming concerned, since I have funds there.

try using https://btcchina.com  it should redirect to https://vip.btcchina.com/

$807 in China.

5999.1 Yuan now  (~ 984$)

edit: while I was typing btcchina hit 6160 Yuan, I'll let you do the math Tongue

6390 @ btcchina.. way too fast
865  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats your crash-comming-panic-sell number? on: November 19, 2013, 12:34:41 AM
You're asking the wrong question.

Watch for a momentum increase (as in now)...

Then place your stop-loss well below the trend line.

Let the market take you out when it breaks the trend line.

BTW I suspect China will surprise us all, pushing this market farther then anyone expects... but don't play that gamble.  Now is the time to put stops in.  But keep them well below the trend line.  You don't want to get stopped out too soon.

Is there an exchange with a stop-loss feature or are you using a bot? Would LOVE to use a stop loss so I can stop checking price every 5 minutes.

Here another interesting thing, the higher temp issue has nothing to do with how hot the ASIC is, I cool the asics fully with fans on the radiators, and point a fan to the boards, if I take the fan off the boards, the temperature rises and the die #0 issue goes away.

That is interesting.  It would seem the temp issue is not the core but the non-core board level temp.  Very "weird".

maybe KnC could start selling new PCBs to October customers since supposedly they fixed this "non-core board temp" in the new design, no?

Holy crap! I go away for a week and come back to BTC selling for $650! Wow, wish I bought more miners now. I did have to reboot the Saturn about 3X thru logmein. It seems to have issues after 12 mill shares.

slightly OT but speaking of "logmein" I found a foss replacement that serves me well for the last 3 years: http://www.ntop.org/products/n2n/
(you should have a vps/server with a public ip to run as supernode)
869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: November 18, 2013, 12:58:22 PM
Does anyone know when KncMiner will have their asics in stock and ready to order?

still no news for new batch.

today they've started to deliver upgrades modules they sold last week in only 7 minutes (they plan to sell only 200 boards but they oversell due to a glitch on their ecomm platform).

regarding the already sold Nov batch the last thing we know is https://www.kncminer.com/news/news-66. so shipment will start from 3 to 7 days from now.

in short as of now KnC has nothing to sell in stock :/

871  Economy / Speculation / Re: 600 taken out at Mt. Gox! on: November 18, 2013, 08:54:40 AM
But why isnt bitstamp rising as high...?
$70 difference is too suspicious

Takes time to put new money in.  Either people in gox already had USD sitting on the sidelines, or there are less people on gox willing to sell than there are on bitstamp.

or gox is artificially & fraudulently manipulating the exchange rate way above what it should be to sketchy and profit.

now @BTCChina: $652.21/ ¥3977

and more to the point the arbitrage between btc-e and gox is a lot smaller than the one between bitstamp and gox. maybe it's just a bstamp problem.

In other words, have we started capitulation? And the market is completely clueless about it yet?

I'm looking at maybe $470 at the outside. It depends—if we can pull back and recover it might go a little higher. If not, then we start going the other way.
looks like we got that pullback and recovery! let's see if we can't hit $500 or so before a real pullback.  Cheesy

Nah.

$395 to $290—that was a pullback.
$458 to $413—is barely more than a trading range under these conditions.

At this point I am less than convinced that we will hit $500 anytime real soon.

Unless we do. Then I'll be convinced.  Wink

Mtgox price?

By my accounting Gox is still leading the higher highs.

sure, but since I'm aware of your intention to use Gox, Bitstamp and BTCChina as sources for your estimations I was wondering if you already have something in place.

New cgminer binary based on cgminer 3.8.2 up

http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/kncminer/cgminer

Note that we may have tracked down at least one of the causes of the memory leak that leads to cgminer being killed for being out of memory and it involves frequently using the API. This means that if you are not actively monitoring its performance on the web interface, you are better off closing the web interface window for it to not repeatedly keep using it.

how can we put the cgminer into the system?

thx a lot

wget http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/kncminer/cgminer
chmod +x cgminer
mv cgminer /usr/bin/
/etc/init.d/cgminer.sh restart
screen -rx

make a backup copy of the original cgminer, just in case

@KNC or @Bitcoinorama: Does this delay also apply to the upgrade modules? Will the shipping of the upgrade modules begin with, before or after shipping of regular november orders?

Guy's I'll be honest and say. If you have a November batch and want to take full advantage, I'd be sourcing 1200w PSUs.

I'd still avoid the Cosair HX Series. You'd prob be fine with a solid 1000w+.

We've been testing on the V850s still, but as I alluded to before they've been pushing these around and over 1000w and the PSUs are solid and have been taking the abuse, but if I were you with future firmware revisions and from what I've seen: 1200w Gold rated PSUs for November batch orders FTW please! Wink

Are you suggesting to buy bigger PSU also for batch1 miners (once new fw version will be released) ?

The only reason for the October batch to buy uprated PSUs would be if they purchased additional upgrade boards that unofficially they shouldn't be doing, as they officially were for Mercury and Saturns to upgrade with. Wink

ok perfect.
so if you're using an "official" jup (with only 4 modules) you're safe using an 850W PSU whatever is the fw version, present and future, you flush into your gear.

I got briefly excited when the fans arrived.

Where are mah modules!!1

Side note:  I can't tell a difference between the I30 and the A30.  The fan is on there really sturdy.

wow so you did buy six modules, you'll never end to surprise me Tongue
