Minting is becoming better. Can anybody commit about the right block chain high?

On the new fork (nearly?) all my new minted blocks become orphaned.

I'm downloading the blockchain from hobonickels.info now, and try again.

Something strange is going on at this time. My wallet was staking until block 5641297. Now somebody overtook with a new fork going to block 5641537, letting a lot of orphanes in my wallets. All my minted coins become orphaned starting from 12 hours before. My block high is on 5641537 now.

And another phenomenon: Before the "current PoS netweight" was around 200000, now it is around 400000. So we have two coexisting competing chains? (I remind some days before we had a "current PoS netweight" of around 800000 and more, so one chain in consent?)

Right chain:
Block: 5634940
Block Hash: e841471edd89b909856300729b328330dc6967acf6e6b828be07494ef3376e17
Block Timestamp: 2017-09-06 00:26:17 UTC

My current block is 5641035 (and I'm luckily got the hash above with command "getblockbynumber")

I will release version 1.5.5.5 here tonight or tomorrow that will disconnect bad clients. Pleas ensure you are at version least version 1.5.3+ or preferably at 1.5.5.4 (soon 1.5.5.5).

Could this be the reason? Are old versions creating their own chain?
587  Economy / Economics / Re: Robert Schiller on Bitcoin on: September 05, 2017, 12:31:00 PM
I find it hard to believe that the big traditional players will just watch while BTC growth beats anything in traditional investments by tenfold at least. They have the means to influence the market so it could be true. But if that is true, then the main question is - what is their final goal?

Profit?

"There's no free lunch!"

And Goldman Sucks paying customers are preparing to have this greedy community for breakfest.
588  Economy / Economics / Re: Robert Schiller on Bitcoin on: September 05, 2017, 11:13:23 AM
Robert Shiller wrote the book on bubbles. He says “the best example right now is bitcoin.”

Yale economics professor Robert Shiller won the Nobel prize for his work on bubbles. He wrote a seminal book on speculative manias, Irrational Exuberance, a deep analysis of the dramas over the centuries when otherwise sane people drove prices for tulips, stocks, and houses to inexplicable heights.

Article link: https://qz.com/1067557/robert-shiller-wrote-the-book-on-bubbles-he-says-the-best-example-right-now-is-bitcoin/

What's your opinion on his view?

I believe his opinion is real. Humans do not change their essential behaviour, so Bitcoins will become a bubble, one of many we had all the centuries before. I cannot say when it comes, and not how high it goes, but it will come.

Nevertheless cryptocurrencies are a real innovation, so some will survive, even after the final crash after the last bubble.

I mined some bytecoin, and lost more than 80% of it trading I didn't take it serious just interested in the technology. If these guys are greedy when they pre-mined the coin they lost a good amount of it already.

What kind of retarded logic fail is this. Because you are an idiot when it comes to trading and lost 80%, that means the Bytecoin team did too? WTF?!

I took it as he claimed to be part of the bcn team. But if the team lost money in trading their own coin, they are greedy. And this is a sign that a coin cannot survive. I believe that a lot of greedy devs are speculating with their own coins, this making their coin die.

Indeed human mankind is living with the wrong economy in their brain. I'm a retard for sure, and I'm sure that humans are retards without a single exception. And for retards there is a complementary economy that cannot fail. Because retards are not able to speculate, they are simply rebalancing. Rebalancing is a passive strategy, so does not need any intellectual property, and results in a gain narrow above the average. There does not exist such thing like "intelligence" or "rationality" with humans, they are arrogant beasts only.

Somebody remembers the study about apes, that are winning against all professional investors long term? You should be prepared for your near future, humans! Natural rules are applying to you the same way as they apply to the rest of this planet.

There are configurable options, stakesplit and stakecombine, to set a splitting and combining threshold in coins respectively. stakemintime in hours sets a coin age threshold eligible for staking. It's 48 hours by default, but can be increased with no significant reduction on the number of successful stakes while reducing CPU load greatly. It takes a few weeks for a 50 ORB input to get staked usually. Chances that it happens in the first week are low.

The options stakesplit and stakecombine are working very well, thank you.

ignore!

A complete both-sided blocking functionality for this forum would be much better, to reduce noise and escalation.
596  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: August 29, 2017, 08:23:26 AM

I'm not sure some guys here are actually investing in bcn or not. If you not, I don't have anything to say, except you just are trying to devalue the bcn's reputation and make new people stay away from it. If you are investing in bcn, please do something to promote it so that you can benefit. If you don't trust in it, simply just sell it rather than angry and shouting desperately. We have a choice and nobody force you something that you don't want.

If I have trust into a coin, is my decision only. I have some trust into the first anonymous dev group, so I have some coins. But I have no trust into shills.

The devs development path is slow, but this is fine. Only thefts are in a hurry.

I will make material love with you!

wow perfect Smiley     Of all that it is the % of the pos of this currency?

If you mean block type, it's 33% PoW and 67% PoS.

If you mean interest, it's undefined. You get a fixed reward of 1 ORB every time you produce a successful stake.

If I let my stake split into fragments (with PoS), the cpu load rises very high. So I reorganize my stake at some days, but it's a pain.

Can I configure a minimum fragment size?
