Seems like we have finally achieved true value.
IPO has been like 2 days ago, it seems a tad premature to talk about "finally" "reaching true value".

Time isn't very relevant when it comes to market sentiment on a security...
I was right on the slow drop to IPO, I'll be right on the 0.0015 being a correct value for now.
563  Economy / Economics / Re: The very sad truth about Bitcoin : It might die to gambling on: August 05, 2013, 10:37:18 AM
Wow, This thread... Another beauty Smiley. The good news OP is that you have nothing to worry about:

- Every human being with mediocre intelligence knows gambling is rigged and designed to take your money.
- Casinos are living off the stupid (and those that enjoy throwing money away). I'll make an assumption here that the average bitcoin user is smarter then the average human being.
- If fools like to be parted from their bitcoins it's their issue, but this isn't a threat to bitcoin.

To be honest, they're both overvalued right now. BTC markets are very bullish. And these companies have nothing to show for themselves other than promises.

And I've believed in promises too many times.  Cry She never came back.

Totally right, Everyone seems to be on the Choo Choo IPO train that they forget they are actually buying nothing.
I wonder how many tears we'll see when the train crashes...

Disclaimer: I do sincerely hope Labcoin succeeds, My remark is just about the current pricing of shares.

Looks like a nice bounce-back at 0.001 to 0.0015. Seems like we have finally achieved true value.

Wow the amount of FUD and just plain being retarded in here is over 9000!

Currently trading at: 0.01571

Oh no a huge (0.00029) drop! Panic, Chaos, Ruination!
566  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 02, 2013, 02:19:25 PM
Looks like it's slowly going down back to IPO price.
I guess lot's of people took the 300-400% profit and be done with it.

I wouldn't be surprised if AM's price suddenly jumped up again.

Anyway, easy money, like any IPO nowadays.

No, it doesn't look like that at all.

Jup, Down it is.

A lot of people were here for the pump and dump thing but maybe some of them will realize that labcoin could become more than that. Why not hold 1-2 weeks and see what happens.

Agreed, but at this moment Labcoin still has a lot to prove.
Currently those shares are worth nothing. That's 0.003 BTC for Air.

To each his own opinion of course, but if you look at the chart, the trend is down.

Why all the hate on LABCOIN and Burnside?

Yes this could have been handled better, and yes the deposits had issues (I got screwed myself, could have gotten a lot more shares).
But these guys have been doing everything to make this process as smooth as possible. Have you guys ever seen a BTC IPO that went perfectly smooth?

Good job both on making the best of a bad situation.

A couple of things to pay attention to on the next IPO:
- Make sure BTCT.CO is working as intended even during heavy load (deposits)
- As an IPO issuer you should stick to your issued timeline and plan even if it pisses off people.
572  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 09:48:10 PM
Guys I still haven't received my deposit on BTCT.CO, anyone else still not getting their deposits or am I screwed?

make a withdrawal for .001

That fixes my deposit??? Wow if only I knew earlier, I could have bought SO many shares...

Lol I came here looking for an answer on deposits not working. Guess I'm not alone lol. Will the IPO be delayed?
575  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 02:12:09 PM
In regular stock exchanges there is a reduction mechanism which is a bit unfair to small investors, but it works.
You put much more money to buy the shares and the amount you commited is used to calculate proportion what you get out of the whole pie.
Then the excess/unused money is returned.

Example:
Share price is 0.001
You want to buy 10000 shares. You pay 10000 * 0.001 = 10BTC

But demand is 10 times higher then supply, so what you get is:
1000 shares and return of 9000 * 0.001 = 9 BTC.

I'm with you on that one... this is something Burnside should look at

It should be very easy to implement as well. Burnside will issue a labcoin-ipo-fund with unlimited supply at fixed price 0.001. When time is up:
Number of your labcoin-ipo-fund shares / all of labcoin-ipo-fund sold = percantage of real shares you bought.

It's not bad, I prefer it to just selling 7.000.000 at 0.001 and first come first first. But it's a little unfair to the little guy Smiley.
576  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 01:56:35 PM
doesn´t these times seem more humane to everyone?

Amsterdam (Netherlands)    Thursday, 1 August 2013, 00:00:00   CEST   UTC+2 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York)    Wednesday, 31 July 2013, 18:00:00   EDT   UTC-4 hours
Beijing (China)                    Thursday, 1 August 2013, 06:00:00        CST  UTC+8 hours

Agreed, Even this variation is fine:

Amsterdam (Netherlands)    Thursday, 1 August 2013, 01:00:00   CEST   UTC+2 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York)    Wednesday, 31 July 2013, 19:00:00   EDT   UTC-4 hours
Beijing (China)                    Thursday, 1 August 2013, 07:00:00        CST  UTC+8 hours

Resetting an orderbook and going to a purely timebased IPO is both lame and bad for small market cap companies.
What's wrong with a time-range and let the market decide what the right price is to have an order filled instead of blind luck?

If you go for this timing based IPO then please set a cap to how many shares one person can buy... (I suggest a 10K Shares limit / person)

I don't understand anyone defending the orderbook reset option.
578  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 01:25:21 PM
Hello! I have indeed been ASLEEP! We have NOT released the shares for sale as we promised we would give the forum a set time for the IPO to keep it as far as possible. The shares will be released AT IPO PRICE 0.001  BTC in 12 HOURS. That is 8 PM CENTRAL TIME!

Sorry for any confusion, but I had no way of knowing the IPO would be apprived while I was sleeping (I am not always awake 24/7 on bitcointalk.org Smiley

Smart decision. Convenient for American - the No.1 BTC user group. Its also convenient for Chinese - the No.2 BTC user group as it will be 9 AM BEIJING TIME. Sorry for European...

Suggestion: cancel all the bids and lock it. Release it one hour or 30 minutes right before start time.

Wow... Racist much? And pretty unfounded?

6 PM CET would be a lot better for everyone involved:

6 PM Convenient for North and South America
12 PM Still manageable for Europeans (12 PM UK, 1 AM Central Europe)
7 AM in Asia is also more the manageable
579  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 01:14:29 PM
8PM Central.

Fuck... Fuck the UK people over  Angry

Fuck every European over, yet again. Every IPO is in the middle of the frackin night.

The shares will be released AT IPO PRICE 0.001  BTC in 12 HOURS.

Does that mean that higher than .001 BTC bids will be filled first?  Currently, no one with a bid at .001 will get any shares.

I am currently trying to reach Burnside. The best solution here is likely to halt the asset (issuer lock), cancel ALL current orders and then reopen it at 8 PM. I will need burnside's advice on this though.

Wow and now all current orders will be cancelled, forcing me to wake up in the middle of the night? Just awesome!

Set the IPO to 6 PM CET and give us Europeans a chance!

Also do we really want to go to a time based IPO? Remember the Sandstorm IPO? Someone is going to buy all 7.000.000 for 7000 BTC and that'll be it...
