I'm looking at ETH now, it has great potential to surpass the ATH just like Bitcoin (maybe this year), with ETF speculation for Ethereum, its price tends to have a short/medium term upward trend, similar to BTC from 2023/September until now.
But for now, I think BTC tends to appreciate more, after it stabilizes, I think investors will look more at altcoins starting with ETH.

Only on Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin at the moment, of course I'm open to new ideas and possibilities.
I find altcoins much more unpredictable than Bitcoin and Eth, but I think I will study this altcoin market better to ride a wave and accumulate more bits.
Ohh I have an affinity for Monero too, even though I've never had it.

Desde a versão 21 ou 22 do Bitcoin Core, algumas mudanças drásticas foram feitas no que é referente a geração de carteiras. Antes de uma dessas versões acima, o Bitcoin Core gerava carteiras determinísticas BIP32 no Derivation Path: (m/0'/0') para os três tipos de scripts: legacy (pkh), p2sh-segwit (sh(wpkh)) e bech32 (wpkh). Ou seja, não usavam os caminhos padrão: (m/44'/0'/0'/0), (m/49'/0'/0'/0), (m/84'/0'/0'/0)... Ou seja, ao gerar um novo endereço de recebimento no Bitcoin Core antes dessas versões, independentemente do endereço fornecido, os 3 tipos de endereços correspondiam a mesma chave privada e chave pública. Pra quem não sabe, uma mesma chave privada pode gerar todos os tipos de endereços, exemplo abaixo:   Caso você tivesse criado sua carteira antes dessas versões, você tinha uma carteira legada e podia importar chaves privadas com o comando: importprivkey "SuaChaveWIF" false (se não colocasse o false, o core varreria a blockchain inteira para buscar o seu saldo, o que podia levar horas). Mas agora, caso você tenha criado sua carteira após as versões 21 ou 22 do Bitcoin Core, sua carteira tem um novo formato, é descritora, agora você não pode usar o comando importprivkey, dumpprivkey e outros... e caso sua carteira seja legada (achei uma sacanagem isso, mas disseram que isso é inseguro e por isso tiraram esse comando), você terá a opção para migrar para o novo formato (descritora), e como isso cria uma nova carteira e novas chaves privadas, você deve fazer um novo backup! Importande mencionar que com o novo formato de carteira descritora, o Bitcoin Core gera chaves privadas nos Derivation Path padrão: bip44, 49, 84 e 86 para taproot. Isso significa que o Bitcoin Core agora segue os mesmos Derivation Path que 99% das carteiras como as Hardware wallets, mobile wallets e desktop wallets... Expliquei o básico para que todos possam entender o funcionamento de uma carteira descritora, agora segue abaixo como importar uma chave privada (ou endereço) no Bitcoin Core: Com o Bitcoin Core em funcionamento, abra o console e siga os passos: 1. No console, digite a senha da sua wallet (caso esteja protegida por senha) com walletpassphrase "sua_senha" 600 O número 600 equivale a segundos que a sua carteira ficará destrancada, podia ser qualquer número, por exemplo, 1 minuto (60) e assim por diante. 2. Primeiro você deve digitar "getdescriptorinfo" seguido do tipo de script (endereço) que você quer que seja importado, como o "combo" para importar um combo de 3 endereços de uma vez que corresponde a mesma chave privada, esse comando é necessário para obter o checksum, exemplo abaixo: getdescriptorinfo "combo(Kzh61t7Tuf8vP9i5P3qDvBNa2cXXRb7fXLvVywXHapbAMkHo7kRJ)"  A informação que precisamos é:"checksum": "6wfyq20z" 3. Digite: importdescriptors '[{"desc":"combo(Sua_Chave_WIF_Aqui)#Checksum_Aqui","timestamp":"now"}]' importdescriptors '[{"desc":"combo(Kzh61t7Tuf8vP9i5P3qDvBNa2cXXRb7fXLvVywXHapbAMkHo7kRJ)#6wfyq20z","timestamp":"now"}]' Depois disso, na Aba de Endereços de Recebimento, você verá os endereços importados juntos com o seu par de chaves:  Depois disso, caso essa chave já havia recebido algum saldo antes, você deve dar o comando rescanblockhain + o número do bloco que foi validado a transação + número de bloco para o Bitcoin Core parar o escaneamento. Exemplo, se eu recebi uma transação para esse endereço importado, e a transação foi validada no bloco 555555, basta dar o comando rescanblockchain e algum outro número de bloco aleatório para parar o escaneamento (caso contrário o core irá escanear até o número de blocos atual da sua blockchain), exemplo abaixo: rescanblockchain 555555 555558 Até essa altura, caso a sua transação esteja incluída em um desses blocos especificados ao dar o comando acima, o saldo já terá sido atualizado na sua carteira, após o escaneamento. |

Altcoins usually boom after bitcoin appreciates a lot during a bull run period and after BTC stabilizes (after the halving), the flow of capital starts moving towards altcoins, thus starting the altcoin season.
I never had many altcoins and the ones I did have, I held and didn't have significant returns or losses, after all, it was money I was willing to lose.
But in this bull run I intend to do something different, buy altcoins with good fundamentals and that are in an upward trend and hold them until the end of 2025, but to do that, I'll have to do a lot of research and watch some videos.

although its open source which gives it a little ground for interest yet I wouldn't like to use it because of its rating which is 2 star wallet, that means it still have some outstanding issues that is reducing the rating.
Well, it's a relatively new wallet, so the rating is still low. As I had thought, I was surprised by the fact that the addresses are called accounts at UniSat, in addition, Unisat does not add up the address balances, which leads me to believe that when sending, it can only spend on outputs from one address (account) just... This is very strange, since this is the basic thing that all wallets do, add up the balance of all addresses, send the rest to change addresses, etc... Unisat doesn't do any of that, it's a shame. Better to leave this wallet to NFTs, ordinals users. |

You see the demerit idea will only bring more reasons for people to just ruin the account of others by constantly demeritting those they hate.
I agree with @Mia Chloe's idea, in addition, it's already very difficult to climb the rankings after implementing the merit system, which means that good posters are not recognized enough and while some users post things without much meaning they gain more merits than the others. Don't get me wrong, I think the merits system is working very well and fulfilling its purpose, but as not everything is perfect, if it's already difficult to climb the rankings, imagine if we had a demerit system, the intention is good, but the opposite effect can also occur, this can make good posters or newbies simply give up on the forum, especially newbies who are just joining and are faced with the giant challenge of at least progressing to Sr. Member. Furthermore, if have a demerit system, users with bad intentions or those with personal problems could ruin another's reputation without good enough justifications, disqualifying purely on their arbitrary ideas without something that really justifies it. |

UniSat is a wallet for subscribing to BRC-20 tokens, NFTs, but apparently it can be used as a basic wallet for sending and receiving BTCs.
I liked it because of its practicality, conservative UI and it's a Chrome extension, I've been missing a good Chrome extension Wallet for a long time.

You can do so ( for testing purposes only) by following the same derivation path used in the descriptor and using your master private key as " BIP32 Root Key" in IanColeman's BIP39 Tool. You can set the derivation path in " BIP32" tab, Custom Derivation path; " m" represents that master private key, the ' signs or " h" ( in Core) represent hardened derivation. The prvikeys are derived same way as other address types, the derivation path may differ depending on the client. The address generation however is different, here's the spec: https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0350.mediawiki Following @nc50lc's tip I did the following: !!!Attention!!!, for Satoshi's sake, NEVER DO THE PROCEDURES BELOW IF YOU DON'T ABSOLUTELY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING[/b], unless it is strictly necessary or for technical learning purposes.
Never send coins if you created a wallet using the procedures below without knowing what you are doing, no one here will be responsible any losses or any user error made.
The entire wallet generation procedure on the IanColeman page must be done Offline on an airgapped computer. I created a new test mnemonic:  With the corresponding keys/addresses BIP44, BIP49 and BIP84:    To obtain the P2TR address keys, I just copy the BIP86 derivation path below and paste it into the BIP32 tab under BIP32 Derivation Path: m/86'/0'/0'/0/0  Below we'll see the private keys of the taproot addresses, however we'll see them with the legacy addresses. Explanation: for those who don't know, a compressed private key can generate addresses for different scripts such as P2PKH, P2SH-P2WPKH and P2WPKH), iancoleman does not support P2TR, which is why it's showing addresses for other scripts.  We can do the same process in the BIP141 tab only, again, replacing the Derivation Path to: m/86'/0'/0'/0 Note that the script is different, but the WIF private keys will be the same.  Using another tool, you will see that these BIP86 keys are actually taproot addresses:  If you created your wallet in Core or Electrum, you'll not be able to use this tool, as it only accepts inserting mnemonics, not mater private keys, so only in the iancoleman tool will you be able to obtain your Core private keys (if your wallet is descriptor). For wallets created in Electrum, the derivation path is another, as electrum does not create bip39 wallets). Attention: as the Core does not create mnemonics, the procedure must be done with xpriv, inserting it in BIP32 RootKey on IanColeman. Other than that, the procedure is the same. Uma coisa que está faltando em nossa aba local são campanhas de assinaturas brasileiras, quem lembra da foxbit, dilmacoin...? Tivemos 3 campanhas, eu acho, e participei em todas elas, já estou entrando em contato com empresas de cripto brasileiras pra plantar a semente, sugiro que façam o mesmo para movimentar ainda mais nossa querida aba local.
Não tenho nada do que reclamar da galera das antigas aqui, acho que no brasil (e portugal tbm), temos bons posters e estamos dentre os melhores, se depender de mim e dos outros ativos vai continuar sendo e cada vez melhor.

Electrum does not include Taproot address generation, so I'd recommend you be careful and make a better question, so we can understand what you're trying to accomplish.

Why not just use Electrum?
Electrum can generate your master private key, master public key, the child private keys and the child public keys. So why bothering to use another tool?
I know that. I'm doing some tests, and to complete my tests, I need a tool similar to iancoleman to generate p2tr addresses. |

Electrum uses a different standard than bip39 to generate wallets. I would like to know if there is a tool for recovering the private keys from seeds generated by Electrum similar to what iancoleman does. Doing my research, I found a tool that says recover, but when downloading it it says that the seed format is not compatible, it only runs bip39. Edit: I changed a few lines of code from the iancoleman BIP39 website following the instructions from @HCP and @o_e_l_e_o ( here) and tested an Electrum seedphrase after the modification and it worked, generating the same electrum wallet addresses. But it doesn't work if you have extended the words (added passphrase to a seedphrase created in Electrum), generating totally different keys, has anyone done the test? Does anyone know how to get around this? |

Muito provavelmente, ele teria sofrido o mesmo problema, se tivesse uma HW.
Todos nós temos de ter cuidado, é ter em mente que estamos a lidar com muito dinheiro. E no mundo da informática existe muitos tipos de roubo. Então a pessoa tem de estar muito atenta, e infelizmente, desconfiar de tudo. Ou melhor, duvidar, e verificar.
Infelizmente, até malta especializada na área, cai em coisas do género, então estes relatos são sempre um alerta para todos nós.
Sim, acho que não adianta nada o cara ter uma hardware wallet e ter zero conhecimento sobre como funcionam as transações e segurança no meio cripto, enventualmente vai perder do mesmo jeito. Eu, como um leigo no Linux, fiquei inseguro quando me ensinaram a baixar pelos repositórios, por linha de comando etc, é bem simples até, mas eu como usuário antigo de Windows fico sempre inseguro se eu não ver o site, não olhar o que estou baixando certinho  Antes eu era mais relaxado, mas hoje com tantas coisas importantes no PC e celular eu faço o procedimento básico de entrar no site, entrar no Twitter oficial, ver se os links batem e dou uma breve pesquisada nos comentários pra ver se não tem nada acontecendo (hack, exploit etc) Mudou um pouco, hoje é disponibilizado pacotes .deb ou appimage em que você baixa direto do site dos fabricantes, pacotes deb funcionam da mesma forma que arquivos .exe do windows, clica e instala, mas de certa forma, uma vez que você baixa e instala do terminal seguindo os procedimentos do fabricante não há problema. o Linux tem um modelo de permissões mais rigoroso em comparação com outros sistemas operacionais como o Windows. Tudo que você for fazer tem que pedir a sua permissão. Eu uso Linux há 6 anos, nunca tive problemas com malwares e sequer tenho qualquer antivirus instalado. O Windows por ser o sistema mais utilizado, é mais visado por hackers. |
