Son Heung-min was outstanding last season for Tottenham but I don't think he will stand a chance for the Ballon d'Or against top favorites like Benzema and Lewandowski whose performances last season was far above that of Son. I hope the selection of the best candidate to win the Ballon d'Or will be done without bias unlike the previous one given to Messi when Lewandowski deserved it more. Benzema deserves to win the Ballon d'Or this time around.
It's obvious Benzema achievement and performance for Real Madrid outweighs that of Son in Tottenham thus anything short of not awarding the Ballon d'Or to Benzema is questionable and biased, I hope last year shortcomings with regards to awarding it to Messi instead of Lewandowski wouldn't happen this time around, though I am not undermining the performance of Son for his club but achievement or role of individual player to the success of the club matter most, Benzema singlehandedly took Real Madrid to UCL finals and help the club to win the coveted trophy by scoring crucial goals include winning Laliga trophy. Karim Benzema is the best candidate to win the Ballon d'Or this year. I don't think Son Heung-min of Tottenham is going to have a chance against him in the fight. As far as I can tell, that seems to be the decision of every football fan in the world. You play the condition and choose horses for the courses so I don't think that was the major reason. They definitely had a different thought process about Trafford's pitch (3 seamer + 2 spin), that's why they opted to bat first as they were banking on 2 spinners to finish the job on 4th-5th day, this strategy clearly didn't pan out. In this test match, South Africa lost very badly and now the test series is drawn at 1-1 as a result. As a result of this, the test series turned out to be a very interesting one. First of all, in this match, South Africa was not able to do anything well with their bats, and when they came on to bowl, they were not able to do anything well with their bowls as well. South Africa, on the other hand, was unable to do anything on the same pitch where England was playing so well. that’s what I found really amazing  . Obviously, there were some bad decisions taken but the outcome shouldn’t have been so different for different teams. |

Winston salem tournament is at its final stage and the 250 points offered can improve both finalists rankings it seems that mannarino is the favourite against laslo djere i think i would agree he had somewhat easier games than his opponent and he lost only one set the entire tournament i think a 1.5 odd is quite good for the takers.
Djere played an amazing tournament and if im not mistaken this is his first final on hard court. He maybe tired from all the 3 sets matches that he played. But i think he can still win this tournament or at least a set against Mannarino. Mannarino isnt anything special that cannot be overcomed Hot favorite Mannarino win this final even lost his service in first set but fight back and then won first set in tiebreaker which was good for him, he completely outclasses Djere by score of 7 - 1 and after winning first set he never allows him to give any resistance in second set which he won by score of 6 - 4. Djere also done good job but fail to keep momentum and lost final in good way on hard court, both players have good record but Mannarino was good enough to not allow his opponent for any challenge. Now, we are heading for US Open which is going to start on 29 August with Djokovic is not allowed due to Covid-19 restrictions. I have to admit that Đjere started well in that match, but the defense of the Frenchman Mannarino was just unbelievable, making that win possible. It seemed at first that Đjere had a very high chance of coming out on top of that match, and it looked as though he had an excellent chance of doing so. But in the end, it really felt like Mannarino was outclassing his opponent. The defense of Mannarino was rock-solid. It felt as if he is baited his opponent in order to make mistakes. Djokovic not being able to play in the US Open is obviously going to be a bummer. As he is one of the best in the world and also very fun to watch. |

I think the native players are not very interested because probably the pay is not very good. But then again if the payment is not so good how can there be players in the team from another region?
Sikandar Raza is it, a Pakistani-born player. He wouldn’t have been on the team if the pay was not good. So, I think it’s something else. There must be players who really wish to be on the national team right?
I know that there are a lot of problems in the country and also on the board. I just think that they should arrange for more talent hunts in the country. That way they will be able to find actual talents which will be very helpful for them going into the future. And that will also make other kids interested in cricket in zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe do have a well structured domestic system and more than 90% of the players are native African. But the problem is that the quality is not very good. And that is why they are very dependent on players who are based outside such as Sean Williams. In case of Sikandar Raza, he was originally born in Sialkot, but migrated to Zimbabwe when he was 16 years old. His case is unlike the case with the UAE national team, which just imports players from India and Pakistan. Raza started his cricketing career in Zimbabwe. Actually in my opinion the Zimbabwe cricket board is the one to blame. They had a really good team and they also had a good thing going on quite a long while ago. But because of the problems between the players and the cricket board the Zimbabwe team absolutely fell apart. And I think that is a big reason why the native people are not interested in cricket so much. But I have to agree that players are really hard-working in the Zimbabwe cricket team. They actually give their heart and soul to the game. If we observe such players, we will see many of them, they go from one country to another and play games. But there are some players in particular whose playing standards are so good, they move from their country to another country. They became citizens of that country. But we will see if we observe them. So I think we will see a lot of players like Sikandar Raza here. Zimbabwe does not have many good players. For this reason their condition is not good at all. It would have been better if Zimbabwe had a few more good players.
Zimbabwe certainly does not have very good native players on the team. But I believe Zimbabwe found some good players, players like Christopher Mpofu, Who was actually very good. But they got lost in time. I really don’t know what happened to him. He showed some good performance early on. The problem is I don't think being aggressive from the start is the nature of GGG and probably it could be a problem if he tries that. But if he also takes too much time to set the pace, Canelo is going to try to take advantage of that as well because he scores points often in the later part. So, GGG will have to approach with caution. He can be aggressive but he will have to be careful so that he does not get too aggressive and let his guard down. Because he can get countered and knocked onto the canvas.
If we refer on GGG's last fight against Murata, there's no aggressiveness on GGG on the early rounds. Lots of punches being thrown successfully by Murata and all those are good shots. There was even lots of solid punches that Murata gave on GGG during the first few rounds. While the fight is progressing, GGG now slowly get back on track and becomes beast mode. Murata can't answer now and that leads for GGG to a knock out win at Round 9. That proves that GGG still has the strength and power to end the fight in a KO Victory. But that situation shouldn't be applied against Canelo. Every rounds count and matters if fighting against Canelo in scorecard. Against Canelo, you will have to start early and tag him early. Otherwise, if he let Canelo set the pace, GGG is going to find it difficult later on. I know that GGG Is not an early starter but he might have to make an exception against Canelo. Because Canelo will try to take things on the judge’s scorecard. And that might prove to be a problem for Golovkin. -snip-
You can't compare Murata with Canelo. The latter is at an entirely different level. When was the last time Canelo got KO-ed? Even his loss against Floyd Mayweather Jr. back in 2013 was not from KO, but from majority decision. Golovkin is the king of knockouts, but I don't think that he has much of a chance to repeat that against Canelo. Anyway, I agree with the prediction. Canelo is likely to win the initial rounds. I expect Golovkin to make a comeback from 4th round onwards. But it needs to be seen whether he can win 7 out of the 12 rounds (especially with the judges being biased towards Canelo). That is why I don’t think it is going to be a good idea for Golovin to take it to the judge. He should take matters into his own hand. And he should be aggressive from the early rounds. There is not much chance of him knocking out Canelo in my opinion. So, I think he should pressure Canelo early on. I feel like Golovkin will have to fight defensively in this match against Canelo. Golovkin will know that since he is an experienced veteran in this sport. Apparently, I believe that he will not have much time left in his career for some reason. There are probably very few fights left for him as well. I want him to win solely because of that. It’s not like I think he is not a capable fighter anymore. There is no doubt that he is a very capable fighter. In addition to that, he is also over 40 years old. I wish him the best of luck in making it to 43  I say if GGG will play defensive, then we will expect Canelo will win via Unanimous decision since Canelo is the favorited boxer and landed more punches. GGG should learn to fight like Bivol strategy where he always hold his two arms to protect his face, while he let his arms to get punched. The thing is Bivol is more smarter than GGG since he can find the right moment to punch Canelo, I think he's know Canelo's pattern. But yeah it's a different boxers, maybe GGG is knowing what should he do in the trilogy fight. GGG needs to enhance his strategy. If he will stay with that same old one, Canelo might abuse him with another unanimous decision bookies. Consider Canelo still the favorite, as they saw this advantage from the two previous fights. Though yeah, it's different fighters inside the ring but if GGG will manage to study and learn how Bivol works with the timing, he might get that lucky combination and create a good opening. He needs to be more offensive. In my opinion, Canelo will do his best to keep close and continue to monitor his strategy afterwards Canelo will start attacking him with good solid punches, strategy that this guy is very good when he already analyzes how his opponent works and attacks both from offenses and defenses styles. Besides, they are getting a decent amount of money from the ICC, compared to what the associates team is getting from the organization. It goes without saying that the corruption in the Zimbabwe cricket board is not helping the situation in any way. After the retirement of Sikandar Raza, I do not see any credible candidates as a replacement for him. Who may be able to carry the Zimbabwe team forward in the future?  I don't know how much interested is the native population in the sport of cricket. They can't rely on the white and Asian players for too long, because that player pool is rapidly vanishing (although still we get quality players such as Brad Evans once in a while). Zimbabwe team until the late 90s used to be all-white, with Madondo, Olonga and Mbangwa being rare exceptions. But times have changed and due to political reasons the vast majority of the white population departed from that country. And unfortunately the black population doesn't seems to be too interested in cricket. I think the native players are not very interested because probably the pay is not very good. In my case, I like GGG to win since he's now in his retirement period. Canelo still has more chance and is considered still in his prime. And I feel GGG was robbed in those 2 fights, especially the 1st match where there is a huge gap in scores given by one of the judges.
If Canelo really dominates GGG at all of their meetups, there should be no trilogy that will be demanded by the majority. Canelo is not even interested in the trilogy at first even though his record against GGG is just 1 Win - 1 Draw.
He thinks that he already owned GGG with a 2-0 standing that's why no need for a trilogy. Arrogant and boastful.

I am still shocked by the result between Bayern Munich and VFL Bochum. 7:0!
Actually results like this only happen at the last matchday. At the last match day when everything is decided and you can no longer be relegated or reach international places. But not during the season. Some of Bayern Munich future opponents will certainly not be happy about that.
Im not even surprised to see that. Bayern was always dominating this competition. Facing a low tier club like that and bayern can make a lot of goals. Anything can happen but im sure that bayern will be a winner in this season. Bayern can win easily in any match even when it was against the biggest club after bayern in bundesliga. This is a common thing right now. The fact that only Bayern Munich always dominate this league is the reason I find it difficult to watch the German Bundesliga.They play good football their,but they don't make it a do or die affair.Whereas in England,it's a different case.Defenders are agressive to the point that they don't mind given a particular attacker that is in a good goal scoring form,injury to reduce his speed. Bayern are still the favourite to win the tittle again because there is no competition in the league and it makes it so boring. Bundesliga and Premier League are completely different scenarios. In the Premier League, several teams fight for the title every season. And teams spend a lot of money to strengthen their squads. Their players also try their best to perform well. On the other hand, although there are several good teams in the Bundesliga apart from Bayern Munich, these teams are not aiming to win the title. Teams like Dortmund and Leipzig are only aiming to qualify for the Champions League. These teams have the capacity. This is a magical start for PSG to the league. The unbelievable win against Lille is already among the best games PSG have had in the league. I always want to see the trio playing like this. They can be unstoppable if they do this regularly. But this is of course a piece-of-cake league for PSG. We will see their real strength in the Champions League.

Is Turkey going to be kicked out of NATO?
Apparently US is the only country that can decide who remains in NATO and recently they have been talking about how Turkey has committed war crimes in Syria (as if they didn't know it already in the past couple of years lol). Meanwhile they are shifting to Greece to replace Turkey's geostrategic position which may even lead to a conflict (between two NATO members no less!).
Considering Turkey is a small lifeline for Europe considering energy this could put an extra pressure on the already weak European economy and worsen the energy crisis specially since Turkey will have no other choice but turn to Russia and play in their game.
AFAIK, the Nato has a principle called Consensus Decision. When a member wants to join the bloc, it must have the consent of all the countries in the bloc, and when a country is revoked its membership of Nato, it must also have the consent of the whole Nato bloc. Which means that Turkey can only leave NATO if and only if it votes for itself to leave the bloc, the US cannot unilaterally revoke Ankara's membership. Turkey is the only country in the bloc with close ties to Russia, having been the mediator of many war talks between Russia and Ukraine, most recently a grain deal. If the US pushes Turkey towards Russia, just as they are making it difficult for themselves, the EU will fall further into crisis without Turkey. |

Fairly balanced game I think and this draw is fair for both teams. Both Atalanta and AC Milan were able to perform well, even though AC Milan dominated, but Atalanta was able to compensate and provide difficulties for AC Milan. From the beginning I also believed that this match would most likely end in a draw.
Yes like I said several days ago, the match will draw because both still lack coordination. Milan is a bit powerful but because they play away it's hard to win at Atalanta's home. I have to expect Giroud and Rebic together on the front, but Pioli have a new strategy by making a single attacker which I think is not enough effective to break Atalanta's defense. My prediction for this match was a 1-1 draw. And this is the result. I won the bet. But I thought AC Milan would play a completely defensive strategy in this match. But AC Milan played enough attacking in this match. They made a total of 18 shots. Atalanta's defenders are very experienced. So even after attacking so much, they were not able to break the defence of Atalanta. On the other hand, I think AC Milan's defence needs some strengthening. Otherwise, it will be very difficult for AC Milan to win against Inter Milan or Juventus. |

At the same time, the rivalry between Neymar and Mbappe is probably over. The performance of the trio of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe was impressive. PSG goalkeeper Donnarumma's performance was also outstanding. Lille made plenty of attacks, but Donnarumma was able to parry them all with ease. So I don’t think Juventus is in position to face too many problems in this match regardless if they are not entering into the match with the superior team. I don’t think Juventus is capable of beating them by a large margin. Even if Juventus win, they will achieve it by only a difference of one goal. But I still expect Juventus to win this match. No way they are allowed to be beaten by Sampdoria even though it is the start of the season. |

The performance of Ireland has certainly improved a lot in recent times. I did not even expect them to perform so well against Afghanistan in the T20 series. I am glad to see Ireland at such a promising stage in its development. But I was thinking something interesting which is, what if Ireland plays against Bangladesh right now?
Bangladesh is not doing very well in any of the formats. And a win against a team like Bangladesh is obviously going to be very helpful for Ireland. I think Ireland has the capability right now to do that. And it is true that Ireland will have to be very consistent in terms of both individual and team performance.
Depends on where the matches are being played. Bangladesh always perform better during home matches and Ireland really struggle in sub-continental conditions. So in all probability, Ireland will be having an advantage in case the matches are being played in Dublin or Belfast, while Bangladesh will be the favorites if the matches are being held in Dhaka or Chittagong. And in both cases the teams are overdependent on a few players (Stirling, Tector.etc in case of Ireland and Litton Das, Shakib.etc in case of Bangladesh). In Bangladesh obviously, the tracks are designed to be made for the benefit of Bangladeshi players, and in Ireland vice versa. If the matches are played in Bangladesh, even though Bangladesh is not in the most ideal situation right now, I feel like Bangladesh is going to win against Ireland. Just because of that home-ground advantage. But if the matches are played in Ireland I have my doubts about Bangladesh. The situation in Bangladesh cricket is not favorable at all right now and Ireland will obviously be trying to take advantage of the situation. And it is true that even though Bangladesh has come a long way, Bangladesh is still dependent on certain players to win the match. Just like Ireland. |
