He is definitely a young prodigy and going to grow up to be a very good fighter. I think as long as he can keep focused and also stay away from drugs, it is going to be good for him and his career. If I'm not mistaken, he has a amateur background, so I don't see that he could get himself into drugs since at a very young age he has been training a lot of already. Anyone watches the Ugas vs Barriors? I just read that Barrios won already, and get the WBC interim welterweight belt. He is known to be a 140 lbs, moved up to 147 lbs defeated by Keith Thurman.
However, in this fight it was a different Barrios as he was able to knock down Ugas and then dominated the fight. Ugas though, looks sluggish, he had back to back losses already and he is lucky to get this chance to fight for the belt, but it was very clear that the better man won the fight.
If I am not wrong, Barrios was the one who was actually the favorite going into this match. He was supposed to win this fight. But I think he actually underestimated his opponent for some reason. He definitely thought this was going to be a rather easy fight for him. And that's what caused him to lose this fight. To be honest, the performance from his opponent was really good. When he was to be signed, I knew his stay in that club wont be for a long time considering his age and how many active year will be left for him to perform before he finally retires or go for a lesser competitive league in another club. This offers coming for him now shows that his days at Barcelona will be shortened and will not have an option very soon if he doesnt leave to join another club when hes still performing good and good offers are coming for him. Barcelona will soon look for a replacement for him, but before that he should weigh his option and make a decision as early as possible for a continued productive career before he finally retires. Lewandowski is an excellent striker. He was well aware that he was getting old. This is why he left Bayern Munich to join Barcelona. Barcelona don't play very fast football. They play the tikitaka trick. And this is why Lewandowski was able to continue to perform consistently well for 35 years with Barcelona. Had he joined a Premier League team, he might not have been able to perform so well. And maybe couldn't keep up his fitness.
