221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Adoption first or Bull run first?? on: December 18, 2018, 10:08:01 AM
I don't think there is a cause-effect relationship between bull market and crypto adoption. The adoption is a long term, never ending process that carries on regardless of prices.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ALQO] Scalable Payment Network | Swiss Fiat Exchange: Bitfineon | Liberio dApp on: December 17, 2018, 08:29:50 PM

It is definitely not dead, convince yourself on the official Discord  Grin  Right now the MNrank is showing correct market cap and coin supply for ALQO.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HPPCOIN : Egalitarian High Performance Computing Platform on: December 17, 2018, 08:24:11 PM
Is this coin traded somewhere?

Unfortunately, there is no meaningful exchange to trade HPP coin (no volume on ubit). I hate to be that pesimistic but I doubt we will ever have a better exchange without properly communicating dev team  Sad

225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO New format scam on: December 09, 2018, 10:32:07 AM
These ICO scams are indeed regretful. I don't want to advocate scammers but it might be also the fault of their management team. Lots of them don't have contingency plans for  drop in cryptocurrency price, not reaching a soft cap etc.
226  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bottom is in !! on: December 08, 2018, 03:24:35 PM
From point of view, price action is probably telling us that we have just hit the bottom around $3250 - $3400. The downtrend seems to be exhausted and I would expect a short term oscilation around $3800 mark.
227  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to know if someone places a big order on: December 08, 2018, 02:54:38 PM
You can use

https://tucsky.github.io/SignificantTrades/#

Which basically shows any large trades happening on various exchanges, if you go to settings you can configure what thresholds you want to see.

A little disclaimer, this won't always help you. Because most large whales use hidden orders and they break down their trades in small batches not to get detected. Also you have no idea if someone is longing to open a new position or just cover a short.

Oh, this is a piece of a good work! It will probably not help in trading but it is nice example of a clear and understandable 'web app' design. Kudos to the creator(s)!
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: established coins that have dropped or low cap coins on: December 03, 2018, 10:09:52 AM
Going into 2019 for short or medium term gains what is best to go after
Coins that had bull runs in the past or a lot of attention but have dropped greatly in price (eg verg and Dodgecoin) or low cap or new coins and hopefully will grow in the future

New coins will have much more difficult starting phase since they very probably raised less capital than projects in the 'golden rush'. There are also very promising projects from the past that once were really high in top cryptocurrencies (ranked by marketcap) such as SHIFT.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should ICOs be regulated on: December 03, 2018, 10:03:12 AM
Your question is suggesting an answer. There is a demand for reasonable ICO regulation, and I guess it comes from both investors, and companies. Everybody would rather invest in institutionally stable environment. However, as we see in common financial assets, rempant regulation leads to lower profits, more bureaucracy and even moral hazard.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [8] Blockchain Keeper - The Coins's stronghold on: December 03, 2018, 08:58:44 AM
Hello friennds Smiley
Welcome to our thread!

Let me proudly introduce a new chain-archive service!
blockchainkeeper.info

Now it works in test mode and I would like to hear your thoughts about it.
And most of all, I need a list of actual coins that you can't sync.
Now coins selected randomly, just 4 test.

Good idea! Have you thought about putting these blockchains to Github repo so we could include them more automatically? It would be very beneficial.  Wink
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DingoDollars... DogeCoin Successor ? on: December 03, 2018, 08:53:00 AM
Dogecoin's success is made on different attributes than just being a 'joke coin'. Most of all, Dogecoin was one of the first coins before 'the hot years' in crypto. It is also almost feeless and it attracted huge community in very specific media such as Reddit, Quora etc.
232  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitpay: a new industry players will raise the price of bitcoin up to $20 000 on: December 03, 2018, 08:48:34 AM
I am also quite optimistic about 2019 in terms of cryptocurrency prices. However, don't forget that advocating Bitcoin and forecasting price growth is a profitable agenda for Bitpay. They are simply not unbiased.
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being able to see people's balances and transactions on: December 03, 2018, 08:45:05 AM
Hey, I am thinking about accepting cryptocurrency payments in my online store

unfortunately, bitcoin would show my balance and transactions.

I have since been looking into just creating a token/cryptocurrency for this task.

are there public tokens that would offer me and users some privacy? ERC-20 doesn't offer privacy, but would building a coin on NEM work for this?

Why do you need to 'create a token/cryptocurrency'? If you took advantage of some existing cryptocurrency payment gateway you wouldn't have to bother with generating new addresses for incoming payments, reconciliation of underpaid orders etc. You may want to simply recycle existing solution instead of creating a new one.
234  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking for the fastest way/tool to transfer fiat currency between exchanges on: December 02, 2018, 11:35:35 PM
Hello,
I need to transfer fiat currency (EUR or USD) between two exchanges.
Currently I am using SEPA bank transfers for EUR, but require 3 days.
Do you have any suggestions to reduce fiat transfer time?
I am open to external tools/apps able to work integrated to major exchanges.

Thank you in advance for your inputs.

DI

So called 'stable coins' may be an elegant answer to your question. Read more about Tether (USDT) or USDC. Although some community members have very sceptical opinion on these stable coins, it might serve you well for fast transfers.
235  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to know if someone places a big order on: December 02, 2018, 11:27:44 PM
Is there a way that I can know if some whale has just place a large order in any exchange in the world without a need to check all them every time, is there any indicator?

I would use API of your desired exchanges and developed such a tool on my own if I were you. Although it may sound simple (make connection to an exchange, scan volume of buying and selling orders every 10 second, compare current volume with previous volume, if increased by x % - trigger an action), you will have to do lots of tweaking and probably some trial/error experience.
236  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Margin trading on: December 02, 2018, 10:37:54 PM
Recently, taking into account the downtrend of the crypto-currency market, margin trading has become popular. What is the first thing you should pay attention to in this area? What materials should be studied before starting?

Margin trading is quite simple and easy to understand. However, a trader must get used to x times higher volatility of their open positions. It also raises capital requirements for the trading compared to a non-margin trading.
237  Economy / Economics / Re: G20 & CRYPTOCURRENCIES on: December 02, 2018, 10:19:24 PM
These quotes don't say anything (I'm not blaming you for choosing them, it is G20 leaders don't have anything new to say on cryptocurrencies).
It looks to me like they are still strugling with difference between crypocurrency and blockchain technology since some of them use these terms interchangably. I also think nodoby of them wants to break the regulatory vacuum around crypto assets.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [LYM] Lympo - Monetizing sports and health data via blockchain on: December 02, 2018, 10:11:49 PM
Cuban and Lympo form alliance that rewards folks with crypto tokens just by working out:
https://www.mavs.com/cuban-and-lympo-form-alliance-that-rewards-folks-with-crypto-tokens-just-by-working-out/

Huh, this deserves much more public exposure! Mark Cuban can address large American customer base and millions of potential Lympo fans. I hope we will see such an article in non-crypto journals.

here you are, Lympo @ forbes.com!!
https://www.forbes.com/sites/simonogus/2018/11/27/dallas-mavericks-partner-to-launch-blockchain-fitness-app-lympo/#489cd1902706

Lympo is trending in South Korea! Currently, it's the #2 app on Google Play, in the health and fitness category:
https://twitter.com/Lympo_io/status/1068130258761715712

What a great PR of Lympo! The project has become truly international, and the team apparently knows how to support regional expansion. I am proud to be one of Lympo holders, early investors and bounty participants!  Cool
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: look at this article bitcoin at 5.5k and they still called it a "dip" on: December 02, 2018, 09:58:04 PM
Plenty of people simply hope in self fulfilling prophecy - they bought Bitcoin when it was up, and now they want to reassure other investors that this is 'just a dip' (and you should always buy dips, they say). The opposite is true, we have been in a bear trend for a few months and we will probably not break it soon.
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Project Interzone - Blockchain Social Engine on: December 02, 2018, 10:37:50 AM
The link to the Interzone discord server is https://discord.gg/BqAdTux

There is some development going on behind the scenes, the team is working on a good usecase for the coin.

Has different team taken over the project? I sold my Interzone coins almost a year ago after an original dev disappeared and the development took the dead end. What is the roadmap for further development?
