281  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Why are you mining BTC? on: October 13, 2013, 02:15:37 PM
Simply as thinking the selling cost is higher than mining cost. I personally think the selling prince is 35% higher than searching cost. However, according to the hashmining.com's speeches, 200% (120USD/ 60USD) at least. Which makes me to mine  in order to reduce the problem.

282  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Wow Mining hashrate just broke 2 PH/s according to Blockchain.info on: October 13, 2013, 02:12:36 PM
Here is the craze beginning.
283  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Airline Reward Points on: October 13, 2013, 02:11:09 PM
Why aren't airline reward points considered a centrally issued virtual currency?

FinCEN States:

Quote
In contrast to real currency, "virtual" currency is a medium of exchange that operates like a currency in some environments, but does not have all the attributes of real currency. In particular, virtual currency does not have legal tender status in any jurisdiction. This guidance addresses "convertible" virtual currency. This type of virtual currency either has an equivalent value in real currency, or acts as a substitute for real currency.

It seems to me airline rewards have an equivalent value in real currency and clearly act as a substitute for real currency.

No, airline rewards are for specific use, also with no bounds. However the FinCEN mentions the general use. Which is crypto we know,

It has its bounds, having tender status, having rules to follow up,general use being, can be monitored by everyone while the alirline rewards are not.

I think, bitcoin cares a lot as people playing with fiat, which is dual-direction, can be problem which FinCEN cares while the airline reward is a single-way as you cannot use the reward to turn into fiat.

284  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SR Complaint: Bitcoin is Legit on: October 13, 2013, 02:05:18 PM
Bitcoin is only just obscured, not anonymous. I think the statement is wrong after the money laundering part.

The bitcoin network monitors by both parties, Government and citizens, which ensure the do not with ethical conflicts basis.

I think, some governments figure out how to do good. By using citizens to provide some key information legally and doing themselves. Some people may like to receive reduced sentence so these people may blow the key out to the force.

So SR complaint is invalid.
285  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are Bitcoin securities Legal? on: October 13, 2013, 02:02:15 PM
Questionable.

Currently the securities of the securities is the main problem as bitcoin is a two-face thing which calculated correctly with the specific arithmetic.

If you obtain money service license, Then the BTC security can be legal, in Hong Kong. 796.com obtains the permission to run pure of the pure.

286  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is it legal to give bitcoins as a gift? on: October 13, 2013, 01:59:06 PM
Bitcoin is just a product. You can buy, sell or gift others. So It is legal to do in ethical ways.

287  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: is it legal to run a public bitcoin exchange that Americans can use? on: October 13, 2013, 01:57:51 PM
So I surfed over to bitcoin charts and found an ad for a new exchange in Denver: https://www.trucoinrt.com/  Very slick and apparently produced by a well know provider of bitcoin services.  But I wonder if it is legal to offer such a service.

I had a discussion with a friend yesterday where he pointed me to a department of commerce requirement that basically says if you intend to run an exchange that the public will access you must be able to demonstrate $20,000,000 in assets.  I know that forming a bank has similar requirements.  Given such a large capital requirement is there any legal exchange that Americans are allowed to use?

In person to person, it is just selling goods like you can sell your bond to other people with marketing price.

If need to provide bitcoin to fiat on web, You will have to demonstrate. If you run service, You just provide services, which usually no need 20Mil to follow up. You better have your own company registered number to follow up.

It only tells that they were following one crime group that was laundering money (from their illicit business) with bitcoin and other virtual currencies like Linden dollar or Webmoney,
So when they caught them they confiscated their euros, bitcoins, etc...

They we're not chasing bitcoins!! Just the criminals and their illicit funds!

Agreed, Since the bitcoin designs as Doing not to conflict with ethical matters.  When there is formal compliant received, then these people keep collecting until the target can be set. So Bitcoin becomes more safer when these legal enforcement can adapt with the environment.
289  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: What's next? Procedure for seized BTC funds from Silk Road on: October 13, 2013, 01:49:08 PM
These people will treat them as Storage to stablize the gold. These people may do more bitcoin business later on.
290  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is selling hash rate legal? on: October 13, 2013, 01:47:20 PM
Is it considered bond/security or simply commodity?

Thanks

Its illegal, any investment/security have to have licence.

It depends what you write. Currently Bitcoin is a special thing as the regulation differs. Since to reduce the risk of legal problem, The hash rate is packaged as Helping you to deduce complex problem such as configurations.

The second is an actual machine to help you out, which will be shipped on hand. Is that illegal? These people not to say anything about the return, which ensure the issue.
291  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is selling hash rate legal? on: October 13, 2013, 01:40:31 PM
Is it considered bond/security or simply commodity?

Thanks

It's just commodity or service which helps you on the searching game. To label bitcoin (or related), Hashrate is just commodity or services, but the satisfied one (token) is treated as share.

292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like bitcoin, what's your reason? on: October 13, 2013, 01:36:23 PM

294  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Hong Kong Bitcoin Meetup 14/10 (Public Holiday) on: October 13, 2013, 01:33:33 PM
May be regular basis, But I have noticed few things. I think I will need to note down vodka may be important for this.
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government has some siezed coins. What does this mean in long term? on: October 13, 2013, 01:32:06 PM
The 600K bitcoin now treats as real money, according to a judgement's speech. So the enforcement will do extremely carefully in order to maintain a good pace.

I think, the action implies you cannot do bad with bitcoin.  Perhaps after the trial, the file closed, the bitcoin may be in government storage to stable the fiat currency (Cheesy)

296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dwolla is ending service with Bitcoin exchanges on: October 13, 2013, 01:25:18 PM
Dwolla is not able to figure how to adapt the environment so they just select to cutoff. I have heard that Law enforcement has adapted this as the blockchain is not fully anonymous so it is good for the crypto-currency (shares).

I have heard that cryptsy, campbx are registered companies to follow up in the States, Even the Dwolla no longer deal with this request, they do the rest so Dwolla may be crashed their stuff into wall.
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is now no longer about drugs. It is about the same time for gambling. on: October 13, 2013, 01:18:26 PM
Bitcoin is labeled as shares, one complete share worth at least USD 70.00 (Now, at USD 120.00 at least)

Currently people trust no one can add the supply easily, also transparent and safe for illegal activities such as drugs. So the people just buy, sell , constructing a new complete share , run legal business as normal basis or even running Lady Killer(Casino name).

I think the bitcoin now solves the monitoring problem as the law enforcement now adapts the environment , they figured how to find the bad via the blockchain they made based on the source code of the bitcoin.org.
