what was the ico price of this coin?

~710 btc were collected which are not accessible by the developers (see here for more explanation).

In worst case people got in at 1250 sats/xel with no guarantee to receive any xel, because it was a donation, not ICO - that's why people emphasize this point.

1250sat/xel??
omg even now it is 9 times of that.very nice indeed.
like 13Darko said, we donors carried the biggest risk.. possibility that there will be no elastic.. there was no promise given to us or any obligation to make it happen. we ware aware when donating. it was just amazing whitepaper and us people willing to contribute (donate) to see it happen.
pretty cool if you ask me.
 Cool
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XEL] :: Elastic - The Decentralized Supercomputer :: on: August 22, 2017, 08:01:10 PM
Dumpers be dumping.  There are 36,816,350.47 XEL in the Bittrex wallet.  Almost half the total supply of coins.
that will even out as soon as there are more big exchanges trading xel. For now only one big exchange trades elastic so no wonder big part of supply there. Go and count ethereum supply in every exchange it trades, you will also probably end up with high % of supply on exchanges. As more exchanges pick up elastic so does coin supply gets distributed around.

How come this project has such high marketcap ? Seems to me that only on dev can not compete with, the Golum team or SONM team.
What am I missing ? thx in advance
you are missing the part that only handful of devs can actually develop real p2p distributed supercomputer network, and it happens that of those very few two or more contribute to this open source project called elastic. They (anonymous xel devs) are not doing it because of money or fame but because they want to give us this technology and it happens they choose elastic above others.

XEM ICO price was at 2(!) Satoshi - 2.250.000 for 0.045 BTC. Now it's at 5k Satoshi.

That's just plain wrong.

thatīs so wrong I donīt even know where to start.
but what's coin supply?
Xem has 8,999,999,999 XEM total supply (circulating amount is equal)
and if coinmarketcap tells correct XEL has Circulating Supply
80,461,214 XEL
Total Supply
100,000,000 XEL
so 10times less..

100times less..  Roll Eyes

Three days ago XEL was launched on the Distributed Asset Exchange at HEAT. Here is a summary of the launch:

1. A total cumulative trading volume of $200,000 worth of XEL is achieved.
2. Bi-directional transfer of XEL between the two blockchains, 10 minutes in each direction.
3. The number of accounts on Elastic chain increased by almost 200, from 250 to 447.
4. The number of accounts on the Heatledger chain increased by almost 300, from 1950 to 2241.
5. XEL was listed on Coinmarketcap at spot 73 with a market cap of $40m+, see: http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/elastic

The listing has demonstrated the mutual benefit for the two chains involved.

We're listed on Coinmarketcap at no. 73 with a market cap of $40m+
so much room for growth, wow.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elastic (XEL) Price Speculation $ 1.07 on: June 24, 2017, 06:54:18 AM
So many FUD and low-ballers here. Don't listen to newbie and jr.accounts. Remember that elastic donation period was at the beginning of the 2016 till augost 2016. Check registration of the person who could donate during this period. Don't wonna check this thread anymore cause of too much FUD from newbies about gridcoin(don't even know about it). Just one person made several account and talking about gridcoin. Be careful!

Calling valid criticism "FUD" makes you look desperate and insecure. It shows that you can't form a rational counter-argument. And the fact that you don't even know what GridCoin is (a well-known distributed computing project based on BOINC and already traded on the biggest exchanges) shows how woefully uninformed you are.

I've asked what makes XEL better than Golem and the response was nothing but outdated misinformation. That's not a good sign for XEL. When there's already a goliath in the market doing exactly what you plan to do and you can't explain why you're better or different, you have a problem. The fact that EK doesn't even seem to understand Golem is even worse. His canned response is still "But they're just doing Blender rendering!"

XEL doesn't even have a current white paper and people think it's worth $30m? That's just plain idiocy. They can't even put together a functional website -- most of their links just go straight to GitHub. No team page. No FAQ. Abandoned by the original dev. It looks like a bad joke.

This has all the hallmarks of a doomed project or a thinly veiled cash grab.
What's your main account? I know it's your fake account man. You just made several account and spamming here your Gridcoin. Did you see me spamming at gridcoin's thread? Just open official website elastic.pw and find info you need. Person above made special gift for you copying info from website.

He literally just copied a page from Golem. All that does is prove my point.

Golem is the 500 million dollar gorilla in the room, and XEL is just another scamcoin with an anonymous dev who's waiting to run away with a handful of cash. Too bad you'll never get listed on a real exchange because anyone with an ounce of sense can smell this pile of garbage from a mile away.
yea, and thats why so many trusted users are supporting this project. you know there are actually some of us that want to see this "supercomputer" thing done and move crypto to next level, and dont actually care about money. for now everything goes in XEL favor..

I managed to get the signature via blockchain.info and I was able to verify it, but I get an error. Why am I getting this 'Could not validate unsigned bytes returned by the server.' error? (I didn't upload the sig for obvious reasons)

because wallet is still on testnet, mainnet goes live on 17th with lite wallet. then you will be able to redeem your xel. you did well.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IoP] Fermat presents the Internet of People App Token on: June 14, 2017, 08:52:48 AM
projet dead sell now or sell 20000sat dev dump price scam coin you can see markechakp only see total supply poor vol fuck iop
The only thing that's dead is your connection with real life
maybe he was right. wallet is inactive because of a fork@bittrex

Is bittrex working on a fork? Damn...
time for BCT community to see whats going one behind scenes with IOP.
Personally, i believed and still believe in internet of people vision that has been brought to us by Luis Molina. I was supportive towards this project and invested a LOT of time and a LOT of money, at current situation i support open source and community efforts but dont want to be actively engaged in any activities at this time.
One of lead developers under synonym Wigy summarized quite objectively what happened last few weeks and in witch direction project is heading. i urge anybody thats interested in this project to read blog post and make their own objective conclusion to current situation.
