1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEW BAIKAL MINER BK-G28 released. on: November 22, 2018, 11:48:26 AM
Vosk, what are the symptoms of the crash - does the miner lock up entirely, or does it just stop hashing (either on one board or all) ?
anyone have their g28 crash on groestl?

I have 15 G-28 and they randomly crash all the time. I cannot spend a day without having to manually unpower and power back at LEAST 6 unit as they do not cycle themselve upon a crash.

http://prntscr.com/llk8fi
http://prntscr.com/llk8ru
http://prntscr.com/llk90p

Baikal skype support has no idea what's up.

Oh, as some other said, got multiple board that were not in the right slot and bent. 1 unit wouldn't power up at all because one of the board was missing a capacitance and now only run with 6 instead of 7 board.

Seriously, never again will I purchase from Baikal unless they do something about this.

Anyone managed to overclock some Baikal ? Got some G28 and at start I can see it do Skein at over 40GH until software seems to lower it to the capped 14gh.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: November 12, 2018, 05:30:01 PM
Hello,

I have a few G28 Asic from baikal (15 to be exact) and 1x Dayun Z1+.

I downloaded the test free version of Awesome miner and connected to 1 of my miner.

I've set the algorithm speed and watt useage for the G28 miner in the default and enabled profit switching on the miner properties.

I've also set the mining pool payment address so it could use any default pool (NH, miningpoolhub, zpool, miningdutch, etc)

The software suggest miner should switch to another coin to raise my profit, but doesn't change. It currently mines on the GRS pool I had set by hand on the miner software instead of switching to DBG

How can I get awesome miner to auto-switch coins for highest profit one for me? I need to test it before buying the professional version for 20 unit as if it doesn't work, I will not waste 170$ on it.

Best regards,

Edit:

Email support explained my issue which was with Asic not supporting the Profit switch as I set it. I followed their explanation and it now works.

Many thanks for the support, you just got yourself another buyer.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: November 03, 2018, 12:28:57 AM

I ordered from them, shipped within 2 days after had ordered. Shipped out of china, the return address is in chinese, not sure if it is the same as the address listed on the site. So can confirm it is not a scam site.

So from what I have read, the drop in price is due to the flooding of zig units mining the algo and now the difficulty has risen, do you think it is likely it will rise again? Or the block reward will drop like bitcoins does?

Yup, 0 post count and you come here confirming with the 2 only post they are legit and sent you your miner.

Cough... Cough....

Scammer. Wish you get struck by lightning.

Will anyone actually ROI on those before you earn 4$/day?

Sure, if its priced at $1000.

it is already 1900 USD
I guess 1000 it's just a matter of days... or hours!

OMG!

Pretty sure that's a scam site, either way, I'm glad I sold mine for what I paid for it after mining with it for 11 days back in September, thing turned out to be a piece of junk.

Saw few comments about the core temperature on the interface, my Z1+ runs in a range from 47-52 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Johannesburg has been around the 35 degree mark over the past few days. Is this okay or should I be concerned?

Hi

what it like there in JHB with power cuts and stuff, how you manage the downtime when no electricity ? also whats the going price for electricity now ?

just curious, didnt think there would be a lot of people willing to mine crypto in SA.

Regards
bitreo

The power grid has stabilized a bit so the power cuts are minimal, but still happens...when you least expect it to. Considering a solar solution to mitigate the power risk but that also comes a massive cost. The cost of electricity works on a step pricing scale. On average it starts from $0.12 p/kw and it increases with usage. This machine will cost around $140 pm. Mining is a bit expensive here. Just to give you an idea, the Z1+ sells for around $8800, due to all the taxes and the week Rand. Then add the power challenges, poor internet stability and trading fees. So you need to know what you are doing and the ROI takes 2 or 3 times longer than the many other countries.

Are you an ex-South African?

Well, you might be interested in what I have been starting lately.

Anyone know where I can get the original firmware... I had it running great at 1000 mhz, then updated the firmware, and its having serious issues.  WTF.

If you get it from someone, please let me know. My miner never ran as I broke the original usb and 20181015 won't work.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: October 26, 2018, 10:03:46 PM
Well, they provide a program (made by a known team) to either flash some boot file to the usb or to extract them (make a copy on your pc)

http://download.zigminer.com/

http://prntscr.com/laxnoq

If you feel adventurous enough to stop your miner, I'll be real happy to get this file Smiley
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: October 26, 2018, 05:24:18 PM
Was anyone successful in flashing one of the version (20180930 - 20181015) onto a new usb and having it work?

If so, did you do anything special appart from using udisk ?

Here's how I messed up. I only went to login screen the first time. I tried the root/envision some people gave but it wouldn't login.

I then switched the usb to my PC to see if I could disable the password but got welcomed with a "you need to format this drive".

Test on 3 more pc, same result.

Tested again the miner, couldn't get in.

I've decided to flash the latest version, but now no matter what I try, I can't see my miner since I wiped the usb that came with it to try and upgrade it.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: October 26, 2018, 05:06:11 AM
Well, Tomax is the provider I actually used.

0.66 BTC vs the 4600$ of akminer still leave me a good 300-400$ cheaper product depending on where I was looking for the price. Google was also showing 6215$ exactly while binance was showing 6310ish.

By the way, do not do the newbie like me and do not try to immediatly flash latest version. If you do want to flash it on the usb, user another drive, not the default. I managed to see the miner login page before flashing it and now I'm stuck as I don't have the default version.

I'd suggest going to http://download.zigminer.com/ and downloading the udisk tool and make a backup of your usb. Oh and if you can send me a link for it afterward, I'd appreciate it Wink
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: October 26, 2018, 01:56:01 AM
I got it!

My stupid free windows unzip "App" didn't create a proper image file... re-extracted (while watching ads, not minimized) and it works!  Thanks for the help!

Mind sharing a link to working version  and the hash to verify my unzip is correct ?

Tried a few times to no avail now, both 20181015 and 20180930.

20181015 is giving me this MD5 and SHA1 when writing on the USB:

 MD5 (Drive): 4AF33E910DCC87B8358C130B114E5C28
   MD5 (Image): 4AF33E910DCC87B8358C130B114E5C28 [MATCHED]

@streenip

0.66 BTC (it was just before miner profitability drop) for 4215$ instead of the 5000+ that was listed on asicminervalue and the 4599$ that akminer was quoting me for purchasing 5+ unit.

And that was price for a single unit.

Add about 55$ usd duty fee (74.50$ cad)

Total 4270$.

Anyone happen to have a copy of the flash drive ?

I tried on 3 pc and each says I need to format the drive, but I could get to the login screen when going to the IP of the miner. I'd copy it onto another drive and see if I can work to put my address into the files instead of trying to find the root pwd for Z1+

Edit:

I found the download of different drivers. Trying with the 20181015 to see what happens.

Nope, that's a no go. Red light goes on for a few second before going for for 10-20 second, then back on, slowly flashing like this.

Tried with 20181015 on 3 different usb just to be sure.

Now trying the 20180930 overclocking to see if my Z1+ will come alive.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: October 25, 2018, 10:42:22 PM
@litecoiners

Nope, profit was moving between 50-75$ daily. That's common and easy to understand for anyone with the slightest knowledge in mining.

Coin price can raise and lower. People can be thrown from some random algo to lyra on their GPU using Nicehash if it become the most profitable thing to mine. When that happens, the global payment for all lyra miners stays roughly the same, but having more miners mean each get a smaller part of it.

Anyway, yrk explained it pretty clearly and it seems you don't want to understand.

On a totally different subject.

I ordered a Z1+ last weekend from an Alibaba supplier and just received it with the Bitmain psu. Well packaged with thick foam all around so even if box was slightly dented, units are in perfect shape. 4 days from China to Montréal, Canada.

I knew it was a gamble and this coin fork lowering returns is sad, but on the other hand I now know where to order all my miners from Smiley
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: October 25, 2018, 09:04:16 PM
@litecoiners - you did not understand how this works.

snip

Wondering how people can need tgo be explained in so much details and still not understand.

1+1 = 2

1+ 0 = .... We'd all wish if it was still 2 but hey. Reality says it's 1.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dayun Zig Z1 - Lyra2Rev2 6.8GH/s Asic miner on: October 24, 2018, 12:28:47 AM
At this point I would probably wait a couple weeks for the price to drop.  With the significant drop in profitability, I would assume the price will come down to about $3200 or less

Had an Alibaba provider offer me 3600$ with PSU for MOQ of 4.

Hi Tarlatata ,

Looking forwarding to your feedbacks with this route ,www.akminer.com always following the real-time rate on huobipro.com when paying ,it will be fair to each other ,

Received the tracking number earlier this morning and DHL already sent a texto to offer no signature delivery. Should be at my place shortly.

Because most of your posts are in ANN thread. Who will check thousands of posts for meriting only?
Also, you have a habit of quoting the whole posts and sometimes quoting some quotess which make people bore to read a post, at least it happens for me and I believe  so does for others.

You're right about not removing useless quotes. I mostly do it when on cellphone as it become a pain not to mess up what I actually wanted to quote. Guess I should take the habit to clean the unwanted stuff.
