The problem with these services is that there's simply too much arsing around at the moment. Buy chips from A, send them to B to be put on a board, send board to C to be assembled into an actual product, then get it shipped to yourself.

If you had a full product to sell me, I'd buy. As it stands, though, I just couldn't be bothered with all the hassle.

hi evilscoop,

Just wanted to get an update - is this
1) going ahead with 100 boards (or close enough to that number that we might be able to negotiate a better price than for 10 boards)
2) going ahead with fewer boards
3) not going ahead, or
4) don't know yet?

Am aware things may still be up in the air, but keen to get an update now that we're into July

Many thanks

Slightly confused by this, how can the first batch be unlikely but the second and third go ahead? I'm not great at maths but I always thought 1 came before 2...

Is it that you've got orders for k64s and k1s or something?

I think evilscoop means batch 1 chip delivery - chips will supposedly be coming from Avalon in several waves (batches) and he doesn't have enough board orders from people who have chips from the earliest batch.

That would make perfect sense! Thanks!

Piit is correct
As I don't sell chips, I need enough orders in to do a 100 board run

Good day Mr Scoop, or may I call you Evil?

I'm trying to work out the logistics of this - where to put the boards, which PSU, etc.

I'm leaning towards grabbing some of these https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=246638.0 and putting the boards in a commodity case, but to plan for this need to know the size of the heatsinks.

Has this been finalised?

hello sir, you can call me anything you like Cheesy

Im going to use marto's heatsinks, see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=212031.0 for more info on these
If I remember correct these are 35mm high, then have a fan them, but you could house back to back and place a fan to cool 2 at a time

Hi
If I were to order a K16 deposit from your site this weekend, would that mean I would be included in the batch 3+4? If so, when exactly is this (ie when would I get my board)?  You also mentioned a few posts up that you knew someone who was selling chips, I seem to have just missed out ona  few auctions, so as long as the chips are a sensible price (not greater than 0.1BTC each), I would love to purchase them off your supplier if they still have either 32 or 16 left.

No worries, hope you had a good one, and many congratulations.  So does this mean your board isn't going ahead now, or is it delayed?  No idea how you haven't had loads of orders, as you are the only builder in the UK from what I can see?  It's crackers.

And with a sad heart, I must pull out....

With diff rising, parts being 7 weeks to get, and people pulling out requesting refunds, I can no longer do this project.

I will be refunding those left this week....
