I believe skill is more important than luck when one intends to make gambling a serious financial investment of sort.
Only skills will make a gambler know the exact strategy to use to have an edge over the house because there is a way to bet and strategies to adopt that may bring more luck than others.

Luck in my own sense is just the God factor that makes a bet click, otherwise what would one call it if every bet results in a loss?

Skills is more important in the long term, you can't always get lucky everyday but if you focus on becoming skillful it's possible to develop  a strategy that you can apply to minimise losses...In the aspect of trying to make gambling a financial investment i don't really advice anyone to do this because at the end of the day it's still a gamble and it doesn't matter whether you are a skilled gambler or not

I think there is a big difference between the skills and strategy, when you are saying skill that's mean you have some specific knowledge or you know some technique to win on gambling which is really not possible because at the end of the day gambling depends on the luck not on the skill and as well not on the strategy.
But when I talk about strategy, what I mean in the case of gambling is that before starting gambling, a person sets his gambling budget for that day in advance and if he loses that budget, he will take a break from gambling. And the amount of his budget must be within his ability to lose. From this perspective, the strategy is mainly taken to control losses so that they do not make us stressful, not for winning.

Okay, your example. If you are predicting a match between Chelsea and Arsenal, then naturally Arsenal will be more likely to win but you cannot ignore Chelsea's chances either. Luck plays a huge role in winning or losing in every match. If we focus on tomorrow's match, Real Madrid will play against Girona, then Real Madrid is ahead in every analysis but if that match is drawn or if they lose then it will not be surprising. You may blame Real Madrid's defence or criticize it in many ways but overall luck is the key to winning.

Luck doesn't just come by itself and indeed if you're unlucky then you're unlucky, but that can be minimized by honing your playing skills and studying the weak points where the dominant mistakes we often make are located.
