Is that 4 hours in one sitting or 4 hours over a period of time whenever I'm browsing here? Is there a way to see how much time I've spent in this newbie section? I've spent a lot of time reading other threads but I guess it wouldn't count towards my freedom...

Well, Hi everyone. I'm a newbie and have a tons of questions that can't wait. Yes, I will search before asking.

4 hours time spent to post in normal forums?

that's the strangest hoop i've seen someone make users jump through on forums.
i guess if it works cool. but honestly it feels like a somewhat large inconvenience.
got to be a better way to stop bots.

i needed help from a vendor, and waiting 4 hours would defeat the purpose.
just sharing my thoughts as a first time user here.

Look at the bright side -- you've posted once and now, you're done. (if it ever comes up again....)

Agreed. I don't understand why we can't post in the bitcoinsports forum. There are tons of people including myself looking to contact someone about their bets but are unable to do so. I've tried to contact the bitcoinsports.eu@gmail.com but have not had success in getting a response.

Hi All,

I also wanted to introduce myself.  I also think the rules of waiting are a bit silly but having been a moderator on the 2+2 Poker forums, I recognize that it can be necessary to keep the forums/trolling in order.

I look forward to being more involved in all discussions here and to being able to post more.

Hi Everyone,

I'm here to get help with my new Blue Fury chips. I wanted to register because I see myself mining either bitcoins or other coins for the forseeable future. I figured I'd get going on my status here. I've been mining for almost a year and have learned a lot from these forums. I hope I can make my share of contributions as time goes on.

I've wanted to help a few people on this forum with my technical knowledge since I'm a web developer and have been studying bitcoin for some time now, but I dont know what I have to do to no longer be considered a 'newbie'... I've been registered for months.

For example I wanted to help this person since I have done this exact thing before and know the answer very well.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=100520

Can someone please tell me how I can gain normal privileges on this forum?

Thanks

Ok, thanks for making this thread. I thought it was just me being retarded and couldn't post anything. I'm just starting up with peercoin. Wanna invest a little while it's still cheap, litecoin seems to be taking off, which is awesome.

" You can only post in the Newbie and Local sub-forums till you have made one post and waited 4 hours. " - (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177133.0)

Simply make a post and wait 4 hours, the first thing I did on this forum was donate all my BTC ($3.80 Smiley yes, I know I spent all mine when they were worth $100 each) to the OP here;
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=300631.0
^^ This is for feeding children in poor countries, and my .003 BTC will do more good there
I hope you'll do the same, as every little bit counts  Wink

Hope I learn a lot from this forum, have a nice day!
