I waited for the website to add the new wallet and I just downloaded it on Windows 10. I don't want the data directory on my SSD (c: drive) but I'm having an issue...

On the target path for the shortcut icon I added -datadir=d:\ecc\ecc and it still adds the data directory to the AppData/Roaming folder. I also tried adding datadir=d:\ecc\ecc to the .conf file and still no luck it keeps adding the data directory to the default location.

Any suggestions on how I can control the location of the data directory would be greatly appreciated  Smiley

Hey guys, any idea how coins get added to Blockfolio app? Do they just scan the exchanges or does they need to be submitted? Cheers!

Seems like we are going down.

Maybe it's just the natural correction. Everything that goes up - goes down. See you guys at 10 satoshi to buy back. Smiley

Price is at all time high and you say it's going down. I understand you try to accumulate but this is just hilariously too weak of an attempt to drive the price down Smiley) If something can go up, it will also go down, just like everything else..

What is up with the block explorer ? https://www.blockexperts.com/ecc
Are there different forks ? Check that site and see the blocks, there are missing blocks and sometimes reverts back to older blocks. 1477821 -> 1477826 nothing in between. After 1477825 comes 1477809, what are these errors ? I'm on latest wallet block #1477823 while explorer is at #1477844.
Which peers are on the correct chain ? https://www.coinexchange.io/network/peers/ECC here are a bunch but not all of them uses latest wallet.

Hi Griffith --- great work --- keep it up!

How about updating the main CryptoUnited website a little bit to showcase ECC and to add important thing like social media links (like the information on pg 1 of this thread) , a price tracker etc?  Or creating a standalone ECC website that provides this?

Might help for those new prospective investors to take the coin very seriously and see the dedication that this team has to its development.

I can help with the UI/UX design side of the re-design if anyone else can help out with the frontend / backend dev.

Hi guys,

I’m new to ECC and I’ve been trying to get the ECC wallet setup on a MAC. Apologies if I’m overlooking anything here…

First download of ECC Coin Qt 5.7.1 wallet

Ok, here’s the problem…

All seemed to install ok, except the wallet will not sync. It just states ‘out of sync’ I could not refresh with the little terminals icon in the bottom right hand corner either (it has a little red x).

I found this thread with these instructions...

The fastest way to sync is to download the bootstrap here https://www.cryptounited.io/downloads/ecc/ecc_bootstrap.zip

This bootstrap will contain the complete ECCoin folder, but is without wallet.dat

How to use:
1.) rename your ECCoin map to ECCoin2 -     User->Library->Application Support ->ECCoin
2.)unpack ECCoin-bootstrap-12-06.17.zip and rename the unpacked map ECCoin
3.)Put the map in Application Support (Mac) or ApplicationData (Windows)  User->Library->Application Support
4.)Copy your wallet.dat from ECCoin2 into ECCoin
5.) Start the wallet
6.) If necessary do a repairwallet in the console of the wallet.

Followed the instructions as per the MAC version…

Now, when I try and run the ECC wallet it hangs on the big square banner with: ‘Loading block index’ Then…

Error loading blkindex.dat

Hit ‘ok’ and the wallet closes down.

Rename the folder ECCoin-2 back to ECCoin, and I’m back to square 1. Something not right in the bootstrap directory.

Also, you mention a console, I cannot see any console tab in the wallet.

I’m not impressed, especially seeing all the other issues people are having. It seems to be over complex just to get this wallet set up. This has taken a huge amount of time so far to try and get working and anyone who’s not that tech savvy would have no chance. Please any advice very welcome. Thank you all very much.

I'm having problems with the Conf file.
I only have 1 active connection that last for about 1 min, then I lose all connections.
I turned off my firewall, and I still don't have any connections.
I've added "addnode=xx.xxx.xxx.xx", some are duplicated, does that matter?
What should the config file look like EXACTLY?

This is my .Conf file:

I can't get any connections either. Addnodes, no addnodes makes zero difference. 3 hrs of sitting there with zero connections.

...and god forbid you enable coin control. Crash city.

download new wallet. run a rescan. sync with the chain. and your coins should all still be there.

Installed the wallet, sent 100 ECC. The amount still not showing up 40 minutes later. Wallet sync via boostrap. Only 1 peer connection available and I already restarted the wallet. Any ideas?

hmm... add some addnodes to your config. maybe restarting the wallet will help if you have a low connection count

I am glad you guys deleted my posts, I move my coins from ZEIT to ECC at the right timing and now you come here to show your envy, when you did not listen when somebody gives you a good advise about your own project...

For those that are having problems getting connections:

Try if disabling your firewall makes a difference, if so make an exception for ECC

ah. if you try to enable coin control it crashes?

thanks for the bug report. i will look into it.

Also:

OPTIONAL wallet upgrade will be getting put out in a few minutes.

due to a few feature requests and issues.

1) improved the wallet connectivity
2) fixed a reported bug where an argument in the config file was being saved to one argument map but was then checked in a different one to see if it existed causing the wallet to never activate the argument.
3) added feature: can unlock the wallet for staking only. if this is checked when unlocking the wallet. it will allow the wallet to stake but not to send coins unless the password is entered again for each transaction (you must check it again when sending the transaction or the wallet will lock).

Hi,

Due to a reported bug, and a feature request, and a demand for improved wallet connectivity, there is now a 0.2.4.9 wallet download available for Linux and Windows on the website. (OSX already had the feature and didnt seem to have the connection issues, so there is no upgrade for that wallet)

The new feature is a box you can check to unlock the wallet only for staking. This means that you can leave the wallet unlocked and it will stake but if you want to send coins it will prompt you for the password again. It is a small security enhancement. This wallet will also find peers easier so your wallets should get more connections and not disconnect from others as easily. The bug was also fixed.

Links are the same as for the last wallet. i will keep the same links for every update and will just upload the new wallets to replace the old ones.

-Griffith
