So I take it this didn't really happen? and there were multiple blocks in this one?

Received Block 136335 - Thursday 14 Jul 20:37:43 PDT
Based upon 16212 valid shares.

Because I have never, ever, ever, had that many shares go into one block at approx 850MH/s

And the one 6950 I threw at Elgius for a bit made more then my 6950 and 5850 at bitcoins.lc over the same time frame... Hopefully this is being fixed? Or is fixed with the sql restart, upgrade, etc? I mean we are running out of time where the difficulty is going to be this low... every time it ratchets up, I make less and less with my cards... Eventually, we'll be doing a block every couple days... (except everyone else will be too Smiley )

Is it fixed Jine?

We now got 6 last balanced pushpoold/bitcoind nodes.

Now it's time for some coding on the new system, I've had to postpone it until now due to the issues, rejected shares and stability issues.
Everything seems to work better now, that's really, really good Smiley

I'll keep you guys updated.
That's a pretty nice little Xen cluster for a bitcoin pool  Smiley  You should get a NetApp now, hehe.

That block was a 9m round. So it's absolutely possible.

Hmm from the stats page, looks like I found that one. But damn it, 12000 shares plus to do it? Ouch, at this rate... .09btc / 12k shares is depressing at this difficulty level.

How did you end up rate limiting hosts? Asking because almost 15 workers here and sure enough since last night they cannot all reliably connect, if I start up some others fall offline, etc. I cannot keep everything running now without some not getting work, I temporarily moved my 2.7Gh/s rig to Diablo again and it's getting work and others can stay up but the rejects are worse then ever. I'm not sure what to do to keep my 5+Gh/s on this pool since I'm always fighting something..

EDIT: Pool reporting about 340Gh/s are you losing this many users or do you have an issue right now?

Hash rate down to 280Gh/s now, workers falling off quick, something is definitely wrong with the pool..

I've got both my GPU's running. Just noticed massive rejection rates and now they're not running any processes. I only run my miner at night because it's cooler and I can not run it during the day. Seems like I can write tonight off as a loss.  I think I'm going to start looking at another pool.

edit, one GPU just picked up some work and it was rejected. I'm not going to spend the power tonight to mine rejected shares.

I'm mining with another pool tonight. Just noticed we're down to 188.04 Ghash/s at the moment. Something is seriously wrong.

Yeah major issues connecting. One rig is working, the other 4 are connecting for a few minutes, then can't connect for 10-20 minutes, then connect again for a few minutes.

You never know if the workers are even working on a block. Stales go through the roof.
Multiple rounds become stacked as a huge round & you never know if an ultra-long round is even genuine or if it's just variance.
Maybe 3 rounds disappeared for all eternity as unclaimed blocks, untracked by the software. Maybe they didn't.

I check up on workers, just to see they had 'connection problems' for the last 5 hours even after patches, and the pool is not even under DDoS.
It gets solved for a day or two & begins again.

The pool has degenerated into solving less blocks than pools 5-10x smaller.
http://pident.artefact2.com/pool/Bitcoins.lc

Fact is, I don't want to quit. Seems many other people are not quitting either.
But this stuff adds up to huge losses over mining at other pools & is soon not worth the 0% fee perk.

Not everyone is casually mining with a CPU, this is starting to cost hundreds of dollars in the short term
unrecoverable even by a few lucky rounds.

I like this pool a lot and wish it would work better.  I don't even care so much about the lack of fees.  I just like the site, the design, the philosophy, and the fact that it's in Sweden.  Smiley  So I hope these issues get sorted out.  +1 on the previous comments.

Can you please be quiet with these rants? "Stales" are not going through the roof, efficiency is the same as it always has been, about 2% and markedly decreasing with a new patch that was put in. The pool is having some difficulty right now, it is probably is similar to what was basically a DDOS earlier today when someone pointed a botnet or a pool-hopper proxy at the pool and made thousands of connections for little work, which only points out that the pool should be aggressively blocking low efficiency workers and delaying stats way beyond where it gives any information about the current round. All pools have had downtime from DDOSs, fake share floods, etc, so you should have a backup miner ready to go, or run two miners per GPU so one pool's outages don't affect your earnings.

The pool is is as lucky as it should be, in fact luck since this difficulty started is +1.7%. How do I know? Because I did the actual stats using real math:

Thread-crappers are seeing patterns in random data where there is none and clinging onto it like religion even when presented with outstanding reason. Your perception of rounds being too long is skewed, as the delayed stats don't even show you short rounds. Variance is like a bicycle in the hills: You go uphill at 5mph and downhill at 25mph, so you spend 83% of your time going uphill. And then you bitch about how the roads are unfair when you get to your destination, and piss everybody off.

34,560,000,000,000,000 hashes

p.s. This round did not actually happen, the administrators corrected the error. Nor has a 9+ million share round ever occurred on any pool as of today. Deepbit has had 5-6 million share rounds, bitcoins.lc and slush have had similar, but that's about it.

Well here is one :  block 136589   9089199 round on BTCGuild....    so it is possible...

Well that round didn't happen (as I said "imaginary round" in the post that was quoted), but this one did, setting a record that btcguild didn't match yet - bitcoins.lc round 266, solving block 135944 only after 10,048,350 shares!

They are not "rants". I have mined on bitcoins.lc almost since day one and never had a single issue before.
I'm fully aware of the overall pool luck which is normal.
The troubles didn't begin at the start of 1.56m difficulty. It began maybe a week ago.

You might be mining just for fun.
Some people can't risk instability and 0.5+BTC losses per round (will you mine at this hash rate not knowing whether a long block is actually 3 different blocks when you need currency to keep your mining operations going in the short term?)

This is not some game.
Bringing up potential issues like downtime, missing blocks etc. so far have all proven to be correct so you have nothing to complain about.
Jine has in fact admitted those issues mostly.
