anyone else having serious connection issues with the pool?
Constantly getting timeouts.
We do have a few banned subnets and hosts, that were abusing the system before - you could be one of the affected from those bans. Please send an e-mail to info@bitlc.net with your IP, worker-username and I'll look into it. I think it's just you, cause I've heard no such thing from anyone else before. / Jim |

hey whats the status on the site upgrade? Going well? BTW: please, pretty please implement the "coming soon" feature to add notes to the workers because I've made a mess with mines and it would be soooo useful :-) |

Commenting on workers are already implemented in the new system But one important announcement... I will actually delay the launch of the new site until Wednesday, or possible Thursday cause of this. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=33646.0We're writing a real security policy for the ENTIRE system, looking over our backup routines and also writing a real plan on what to do IF a security breach would happen. We already got a number of security measurements, but cause of the MyBitcoin incident - I'm leaving nothing to chance. * We do have off site backups of EVERYTHING in a number of locations (both offline and secure storage online) * The funds we currently have is spread out on multiple wallets, in multiple locations, both offline and online (to avoid a single point of failure) * The new system is fully protected on-site (HSTS, forced HTTPS, A real EV-certification is coming as well) * New password policys, both for users and us behind the site. * And a lot more. What's actually missing so far is a WRITTEN policy regarding handling of funds. What to do and what not to do. I'll keep you guys updated on this matter. |

I'll create a new thread about the new system, with changelog and a lot more when the we have a clear security policys and incident handling policys.
I spoke with DiabloD3 about creating new thread for the new site, and he said it was okey.
Sorry for the redirect to password-prompt thingy by the way, it was me changing some domain configuration in nginx.

The environment we're using is based upon XenServer (Enterprise version of Xen, an open source virtualization platform) - not EC2. Also, we do have off site backups, per hour, encrypted.
On a personal note, i highly doubt that bitomat actually lost anything... It's more then possible that they just took the money and blamed Amazon. EDIT:Fixed a few spelling issues. |

EC2 is transient by nature so without really having a handle on how to manage persistent vs. non-persistent storage in EC2 it's not hard to lose things and has happened countless times to small and large users alike. With that said it does provide an easy way to jump, I haven't followed bitomat but if they provide instance IDs and S3 paths one could take some steps to verify some of their claims. |

I've been running a few EC2 instances and a couple of S3 buckets for like a year now (we're using one for encrypted backups as well, that is ONE of our off site backup places) without any dataloss or issues. (Except downtime a few months ago when Amazon messed up) I've scaled up, down and changed back and forward... I haven't had any similar issues...
But well... maybe i did something special...
In either way, our environment is NOT based upon EC2.

It's delayed, that's why.
The transaction time to your account represent the timestamp of the delay.
(Kind of how deepbit works, with 1h delay)
Maybe we should change it to actually display the block timestamp?

I understand, website is most simple and design for total newbies, but how about some more info not just in this thread, because nobody I know willing read 50 forum pages. |

See, this is what I'm talking about. It is even on same forum page and I totally missed it. My bad. Also post somewhere VISIBLY that pool origin is Sweden. country #1 in mostly everything. It will look much more credible than Santa Lucia. |
