The faucet is empty too.  Would anybody be willing to send me a tiny qora handout while I wait for replies on my support requests?  QSjpkcAQukYakKuprQPE4gJBYFoFFS3FWS

Please use the faucet at http://qora.co.in, it's currently well funded.

Thanks so much.  It was empty a few hours ago.

poloniex is a good exchange as far as I know. if they have issues with the wallet, then there are probably some bugs

could also be eclipse attack, in which case exchanges would need some trusted peers to maintain connection to them in order to sync?

There are few nasty bugs, for example if you try to register a name while wallet just received a new block it will freeze and after an inevitable restart it will resync down from the genesis block.

I'm a qora fanboy, but when I sync my wallet it doesn't tell me how long I have left to wait. All I can see is a spinning circle and the messages in the screenshots below. If there was a progress bar like in the bitcoin wallet it would make the qora wallet more user friendly.

I know the number of blocks left is occasionally flashed in the command window, but you need to wait to see it, and it soon scrolls out of view. The built in block explorer also shows it, but non-techie users won't figure that out and a long wait without an indicator telling them how long to go could put them off using qora.

Please wait is the first message I see.

After that I get "scanning blockchain, please wait".

The last one I get is "status: synchronizing".

Please add a progress bar to these messages with an estimate of time left, or number of blocks to go. It will help increase adoption of qora by new users.

ccedk told me the same thing as poloniex -- there is a qora wallet bug stopping withdrawals.  Said they were in touch with qora devs to fix it.  Any information?

Qora is unique in cyptoland, and I still believe the future is bright. Most alts are struggling, so Qora is in good company!

Thanks to the dev team for all they do Smiley

Most alts are struggling = not so true - since mid of December Altcoin prices went up by 25%: http://coinoindex.com/

I have Qora as well and in general I also think the price can increase. But the current Altcoin Bullmarket was completely missed by Qora.

That's great, thanks for your and the rest of the dev team's work on qora. I think that feature will help when  new users are syncing wallets from scratch for their first time. It's a frustrating wait with any coin's wallet, but if you can see how long there is left it helps.

I have Qora as well and in general I also think the price can increase. But the current Altcoin Bullmarket was completely missed by Qora.

Sure, I won't disagree that Qora hasn't been picked up by the day-trader community yet, but it has achieved a lot of respect from the more tech minded crypto types. Also, I don't think the recent moves in alt coins is best described as a 'bull market', more of an upwards blip in an otherwise stagnant and declining market that's been around since early 2014.

Truth is decentralised crypto (i.e. not current unterest in 'blockchain' by banks, wall st etc, but the original satoshi vision) has achieved very marginal interest at best. Within that context Qora has gained tech respect, but little interest from regular crypto speculators. BUT, when we do have a true bull market in alts (x10 from current levels in price & volume), and real world adoption, and use-cases being developed by smart people then my prediction is Qora will stick out like beacon in a sea of 'sameness' for most alt coins.

PoS with a ton of features, unique code, committed dev team etc etc

but right now those aspects don't excite day traders, and that's 95% of alt coin users today. Obviously every coin wants day traders for liquidity & great tech potential, but if you had to pick one over the other I'd rather have long-term potential as a usable real world platform, and Qora has that in spades. The speculators come and go, but the Qora devs are still here working ... THANKS guys!

Did anything come from the QORA dice script idea?

i took a look at the code of the proposed open source dice script. it needs some code changes to let it work with qora. no rocket science but it would take me some hours and i have not got time - since job reasons. hope i will find time in a couple of weeks during vacations to get a prototype done.

Any updates on the dice script?
