Our favorite altcoin section mod, who shall remain nameless, is consistently leaving negative garbage threads towards a coin community that shall remain nameless. Now some might call this a conspiracy, I am hoping that it is simply an oversight, a missed spot. Can we stop encouraging negativity and instead encourage people to act like adults?

Will you please move this thread from the altcoin section into the scam section? It is offensive and obnoxious.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=929688.0
Thanks

The Scam Accusations board is for Bitcoin scams on most occasions. As this case is heavily altcoin focused, it stays where it is.

This section is more appropriate, a quick scan shows other similar threads.

Have you reported those topics? Why have you opened a thread here in the meta board?

Yeah of course, but it is more better report them to an administrator (like BadBear or maybe also a global mod).

Unless they changed, the forum policy leans toward free speech. For example, many "negative pointless threads" attack Bitcoin every day, and this gives people a chance to counter the claims and support Bitcoin. Does NXT have the quality and following to overcome the FUD?

The problem with the forum rules is that there is a thin line between  freedom of speech and FUD, and each moderator can think with his own mind.

In most cases, "freedom of speech" includes FUD and the threads are allowed to stay.
It's not always pleasant, but freedom gives the other side a chance to show up and make persuasive comments.

NXT is not a pointless thread. While you may think that it is going to fail over the long run, as long as it is an actual altcoin it is correct for it to remain.

While I am not personally a supporter of POS coins, I have worked with NXT in the past and I would opine that it does have features that will make it attractive for users to use in real world applications (assuming of course that no one ends up successfully attacking as POS is easy to attack.

Regardless, as long as it is an actual altcoin it should remain, and likely even after it fails (assuming it does).

The forum does not make judgements of if something is a scam or is viable over the long term.

You guys in the altcoin section seriously need to take a chill-pill and stop with all the drama.

Edit: it looks like those threads are discussing why they think NXT will fail. The above point that the forum does not determine what is viable still stands. The threads in question are unique topics of discussion; if the people publishing them do not reach a valid conclusion or reach a conclusion based on flawed logic then their reputation will suffer and will not be taken seriously.

Everyone has their right to have their own opinion.

You know I agree with you 100%. However to anyone new, the altcoin section is nothing more then a bunch of people pissing on others. It's painful to read, provides almost zero new information, and quite honestly is embarrassing to the crypto community. These negative attack threads make bitcoiners sound like a bunch of whinny bitches. And it prevents NEW people from wanting to even participate in any discussions as the regular attack dogs are NEVER put back on their leashes.

Just look at the frequency of new threads/ quality threads. It's slowing down alot isn't it. Doesn't traffic = ad revenue? I think most are put off by the bullshit.

The point of the OP is that specifically the threads I linked to are allowed to remain despite them offering zero evidence to support their claims. Hell the last thread in the list is some angry person using all caps. That thread isn't even a discussion its just some baby throwing a temper tantrum. Yet it is deemed worthy of staying in the discussion list. Why not move it to altcoin service discussion? There are other scam accusations there after all.

Also the point of the OP is that the altcoin section mod is biased against NXT.

You are correct about the altcoin section being pretty ugly. Most of the FUD threads I click on are in BTC speculation and we teach our bears that Bitcoin is doing really well.  Cheesy
