any chance of launching it as e-book, for example, on amazon?
So we would be able to get future upgrades without having to order again, and no need of shipping etc, while you will be sure that the e-book won't leak

My intention all along has been to make the book freely available at coinfirm.org As such, 'leaking' wont be an issue; im putting this out there for free. the print edition is just an ;extra special' aspect

I am curious who the 8 good souls are ... I am 1 of them. Happy to state publicly.
I think this is will be a great resource for the community, and I am surprised that more than 8 arent either interested in a hard copy first issue of the book, or dont want to support the project so that it happens
Wondering how we can collectively help to make it happen, as it would be a crying shame if it didnt
It seems unlikely that given the duration that has passed that another 17 are gonna come forward.
Bottom line ... what do you need to make it happen Elianite ?
As we have PM'd before, happy to assist in proof reading drafts, seeing if there is anything else I (we all ?) can do

Elianite, sounds like a very cool idea and I wish you great luck with it.
If you make a high quality version on Casascius coins only, i'm in - seriously, i'd sign up today.
I'm not a fan of any of the other physical bitcoins. To me, they're all just copycats of Casascius and don't hold a fraction of value to the original. They're cheap imitations of the original. If I'm offending anyone, it's not intentional, just my true feelings.
As for your book, can you share any early prints or screenshots so people know the general look of what they'r buying? IF there's anything additional I can do to help, please let me know.
If you make a Casascius only version I'd also pay a premium if it was signed by Mike Caldwell. Cheers!

As far as I remember that was discussed before (having the coin creators sign the books). It may be in this thread or in an earlier one. You're entitled to your views on the coins but I think even just getting Mike alone to sign 20 books or so would be quite difficult. He may not necessarily want to and even if he did, how would shipping work from there? I guess if you buy one you could always send it to Mike with a prepaid return envelope and ask him to sign your copy. With regards to a Casascius only book, the original eBook only talks about Casacius. Creating a new one in paperback on Casascius may not be successful as even with all these other coin manufacturers there doesn't seem to be enough people who are willing to pay for one.

Yes, I suggested an autographed version to make a hard copy worthwhile.
You send the person the page/ book with a Self Addressed Stamped return envelope in your package.
I did it all the time years ago for celebrities.

Is the new crowdfunding replacing the original 25 books?? Thanks It does not; each of these reservations is valid. As I have stated, up to 100 of these books may be produced in the 1st printing. The 25 is what I want to reach, as a minimum, in order to print. If lets say 20 of these are reserved here and 7 are reserved on the crowdfunder, I'll print 27 books, with the unreserved numbers going to the StartJoin reservations

After some deliberation, I have changed plans slightly. As of now, I do not intend to post the entire book on-line for free. I will be selling a small batch of pre-ordered physical copies, and some time after publication, I will offer the eBook version on Amazon and potentially other sites including my own ( www.coinfirm.org). I have not yet determined the price at which these will sell. The book will have its own ISBN number, and be in all ways a legitimate, self published work. Also, I will be cutting out 'ads' from the book. No more ads; this is a professional, specialized publication and not some magazine. If you would like to be a big-ticket sponsor, contact me as I may be able to offer a sponsorship to one single company. I will, however be adding a coin information source and gallery to my website, but this will not come any-time soon. The reason for this change is twofold. Firstly, a website is a better medium to present the information. Secondly, this project has grown to be a much larger undertaking then originally planned; from a casual 'industry directory/magazine' type book a serious, academic work. Perfect Bound, full color, shipping included*, signed, and numbered (up to 100 maximum) physical copies remain for sale as a pre-order at the price of 70 GBP. Contact me to make a pre-order, or do so at https://www.startjoin.com/CoinFIRM2There are NO plans to sell physical copies after publication, so this may be your only chance.

Did you have a professional edit the book already? If not, toss me a PM and we may be able to work something out! I ask as I see tons of errors in your writing here, and being a self-published book, a lot of authors skip that integral process before going to print.

As a literary snob, I second the idea that all authors need an editor. As an example, I remember reading letters written between Mark Twain and his publisher. In one letter regarding Twain's first draft of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the publisher gently reminds Twain that the girl's name (which first appeared in Twain's mega-hit The Adventures of Tom Sawyer) is Becky, not Betty. Good luck with the book. I can't wait! Regards, Me
