What is Woodshares?

WoodShares is the first green project developed under a model of DCO (Distributed Collaborative Organization),
this approach gives to its members power of decision and control over the funds through their active participation.

WoodShares is a financial derivative, similar to a future that comprise the distributed and
collaborative investment on shares of wood.

What is The WS token?

Is a digital asset based on Counterparty protocol in which the value of the tokens is backed up by a tangible asset:
commercial timberlands.

A project that grows naturally

How many WS Tokens will be issued?

WoodShares is composed by TOKENS representing equivalence 1:1 with a share of an allotment clearly established.
This allotment will be divided for purpose of distributing investment in 10,000,000 TOKENS / Hectare, being a Token WS the minimum investment unit.

The first stage of the WoodShares project comprise 10 hectares which means a initial issuance of WS 100.000.000 Tokens to raise 600k usd.

Depending of the acceptance of the project and the behavior of the tokens traded at the exchanges, the total goal of cultivation of timberland is 1000 Ha,
meaning WS 10.000.000.000 on a period of 20 years.

This is the first round of the crowdsale for the first stage of the project, in which we are going to raise about usd 60.000,
they are going to be used to purchase the lands, for the soil studies and the establishment of the seedbeds.

Where to buy?

Swarm CMS CrowdSale (10/04/15 - 25/04/15) (Paying with Btc and/or Credit Card) - Preferential Price
https://swarm.fund/projects/WoodShares

MasterXchange (Paying with BTC)
https://masterxchange.com/market.php?currency=xcpws

CounterWallet By CounterParty (Paying with XCP)
https://counterwallet.io/#pages/exchange.html

WoodShares Block Explorer:
http://www.blockscan.com/assetInfo.aspx?q=WOODSHARES

Which will be the benefits of the project?

Throughout the lifecycle of the product, the WS Tokens holders will be entitled to receive all the economic benefits to be generated by the project, in the form of dividends.
The dividends will be distributed evenly in Bitcoins among all the holders of WS Tokens using said distribution function of CounterWallet platform.
The dividends will be distributed as soon as they are generated and converted from the local currency (Colombian Peso: COP) to Bitcoins.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

We are working on a long term investment, A commercial timberland in Colombia

Check the info and ask me any questions if you are interested.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1022414.0

Will you be working sustainable by replanting trees after cutting down timber ?
Whats the normal prices prices per ha/acre for timberland in Colombia, whats the salerylevel, fuel costs and such things in Colombia, how does that comepare to other big timber countrys?
Do you have any prognoses of profitabillity for the next five, ten, twenty, fifty years and so ?

Will you be working sustainable by replanting trees after cutting down timber?

This a member driven project, so if at the end of the 10 years the members vote to replant, we will do it, also in any case we will leave 5% of all the lands with uncuted trees.
(This project will gain about 300% of the investement so, even if the members wants to replant, there's going to be some dividends to give to the investors-members)

Whats the normal prices prices per ha/acre for timberland in Colombia
Precio Actual Madera (Usd/m3) - 239.13
But you can check more detailed information here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1i1-DkWfXx0P-lEbMFzyjDo0ItscZv36Rd3ZH6OfUXl8/edit#gid=922610014

fuel costs and such things in Colombia, how does that comepare to other big timber countrys?

This costs aren't a problem, once again check the spreadsheet.
We don't have big funds, so we could yield more profit if we started with 100 hectares instead 10 hectares, also Colombia produces very good wood thanks to the good soil.

Do you have any prognoses of profitabillity for the next five, ten, twenty, fifty years and so ?
We have measured the profitability on a 10 year range.

LOL! That's what I immediately thought as well, this looks interesting though I wish more dividend paying projects would crop up like this.

This kind of projects are not getting much traction, maybe that's why there isn't too many.

Maybe the community is not mature enough for a 10 year investment.

Even thoug we have been working arround this project for more than 1 year and we want to see it succed.

New article about Woodshares.

Nobody has ever labelled me a treehugger but I find this endeavor very interesting and albeit, very important in what it does. I truly think this is something that those with extra coinage should look into. It's a longer period than I'm comfortable with but damn, what a great idea and concept that'll make you whole again.

Currently we are in the process of reviewing the best land options available for the WoodShares project:

Here we present some pics of the last visited terrain. The lands are located at Distrito de Riego de Puerto Gaitán (Norte de Santander):

if your only press coverage is on ccn, I automatically assume it was bought and you're up to no good.

We sent the press release to several media channels, so far only 3 published us (www.cryptocoinsnews.com, www.sobrebitcoin.com and www.cryptocurrencymagazine.com) and we didn't pay to any of those for the coverage.
Finally, we also have pending interviews with Cointelegraph and Coindesk

This sounds like a similar altcoin from the past.  Undecided

There are few similar projects, but none of them were backed by an ecological approach, transparency and a DCO model, like WoodShares does it.

This is a very interesting project, the CO2 credits generated could be sold to bitcoin mining farms interested in reducing its environmental footprint! The timeframe is very long, I'm interested in how you plan on handling technology/architecture transitions however. It's very likely that the digital asset platform you've chosen will no longer be available in 10 years time.
