Whoa!!!

Just about time that a manufacture released a new product.

This miner is going to be BIG!

Since this uses the same chips as the S3. Can the S3 be downclocked to run at a similar efficiency? 0.58J/GH ?

Also I think this should be put in bold

1. The included PSU cannot be used in countries with a mains power voltage lower than 205V. The PSU will not start below this voltage.

Pretty much has no market in North America then.

Whaaaaaaaat?  Do you know what a TWO POLL BREAKER IS?  220 to 240 volts, depending on your configuration.

bitmain should send fans of silent to all customers who have purchased s5 with infernal noise

but then again the Chinese by nature and very greedy for money, and with style are born, not made with money lords

No need for prejudice...

I do not understand why a return to the old chip, instead of going forward we go back? the price should be much lower, however, and very high, you have created
s5 with noisy fans, and do not even bother to correct the problem to help you, I'm sorry for you, but I've already had a bad experience with you to bitmain, you made me pay 3 shipments x 4 x antminer s5, including 1 s5 was well used, I have not even refunded the cost of your mistake, not even 1 coupon for the next purchase, that will never happen again, because you are only interested in money, and does not meet the customer.

Bitmain, any chance you'll release an upgrade kit for existing S4s? Those of us that are using upgraded PSUs could easily swap the old board with the new ones.

Someone wrote in another thread that bitmain can sell individual parts for current miners.
It may be an option to "make" your own upgrade kit.

I love you Bitmain....

I also love this product.  I won't be buying it but it delays the s-7 and the s-6 I  am hoping for these to stick around for 2 or 3 months.  Then the s-7 comes out in aug.

This will keep difficulty growing very slowly which is good. At bitmaintech very smart choice for right now.  I am also willing to do a long testing of a demo.   I recently put in not 1 but 2 240 volt  lines.

I would really like to explore the ability to underclock and quiet this machine.  Good product choice.

AT all miners my self included.  We are not seeing .3 watt at the wall gear in the near future.  You smartest move is finding  at least 8 cent power and threading water for a while

Bitmain where are the S2 upgrade kits?

Why is an S4+ which is less efficient and costs significantly more to ship than an S5, considerably more expensive per GH?

A rack mount case and psu don't warrant the difference in price.  It is hard to see this as anything but a ploy to use up old chips.

Due to these factors the S4+ should be priced at no more than 1.1x the cost of ( 2x S5 ); and this is placing a lot of value on the psu.

Pricing on this model at current exchange value would be ~ $748.

All customers who purchased an S4 should receive 1x coupon per S4 purchased.  A real coupon; not 100x spam BS coupons.

Until now, I have bought every product Bitmain has ever made; but I will not buy an S4+ at this ridiculous pricing.

Remember shipping to North America is going to be at least $140 on top of the purchase price.

On a positive note, I don't mind the removal of the lcd, and moving the power connector to the front is an improvement.

Yawn. Miners this efficient were available over 8 months ago.

I don't understand why Bitmain would waste time and money updating the S4. What a waste.

I don't understand why this exists as a "new product" given that the S5's are more efficient and economical.

They had the chips available it was easy to do.
This is actually good for miners with 205 volts and low power costs.
If you are not in this group then it is worthless to you.
Like myself you need the s-6 or s-7

Exactly.  Why .  Why.  Why!  Because their new stuff won't be available till mid/end summer.  Bitmain milk it for all you can.  The specs just aren't there.  Should have been sold has kit.  Notice I didn't say uprade kit.

Once again we don't need more miners or even better miners.  We need higher btc prices.

Once again we don't need more miners or even better miners.  We need higher btc prices.

I think you smacked the proverbial nail straight on the head there! Though I still question why they went through the design process for the S4+ (they look to have flipped the chips like they did with the S5), I suppose since the S3+ (sold only in China) was already about, they deemed it feasible to milk the last ounce out of their older chip seeing they were rushed to market with the BM1384 (S5) chip.

On the whole, that would be understandable, but then the pricing at that efficiency (compared to an existing and available S5) is mind boggling. I can not think of bitmain caring more about the network (and diff rises et al) more than their bottom line. On the face of it, the dev costs for the S4+ are down the pan as no one in their right mind would buy the S4+ out of China! So that leaves the option that this was built (and is being targeted) for their hosting service! Neat trick there bitmain, but it will only come off if the power costs borne by the user are at or less than 8 US cents.

Saying that, the S2 upgrade kits must be a matter of logistics now .... surely!

I agree old chips come on get with the new tech chips bitmain. All I have to do is buy another S5  and I will have more speed than the S4+ !!!!!!

and Still running on 120v to !

Is this your Idea of a joke or are you just milking the cow or you trying to get rid of all your old stock.

also I don't have 220v all I have is 120v single phase 50a service so I could not even use the S4+.

Ridiculous come on bitmain new chips please!!!!!

Or could be they don't have the funding to make them they are going to milk the cow and then Disappear never to be heard from again !
